I clearly remember the steep climb from Hebden Bridge when me and my brother walked from there to Gargrave one day (small rucksacks only)....the weather was abysmal and foliage/nettles etc all wet through...we got a right drenching as you can imagine. Great day out though, beer in Masons Arms (thoroughly recommend it,and the food), fabulous pub in Gargrave.

Thanks for watching Stephen, I'm so glad I decided to do a daily video during this trek. The Pennine Way had been my nemesis so it felt good to go back and give it another shot. Hope you have a great time if/when you head back. All the best. Dean

I've come late to your site. Where I live, it's dead flat. It's also very hot and humid for five months of the year. Walking is an uninteresting ordeal during those months, and uninteresting the rest of the year. I watch your hikes on full screen on my laptop and imagine being in the beautiful scenery. Thank you.

Grand Master Flash, Dire Straits... I guess we would get along pretty well on a walk 😁 Hoping to do the Pennine in 2021 - we've only started long distance walks this year with the C2C and need a bit more practice before taking on this monster. Thanks for taking us along 👍👍

Funny story about the Earby Hostel when I did the PW back in 1996. All of us staying there that night went to the local pub except for one German girl who went missing. When we got back to the Hostel the male warden had locked the doors. He let us in 10 mins later with a very sheepish looking German girl re-appearing from inside.

However after watching your beautiful walk after we parted paths yesterday we are so envious.. that muddy section was up to my calves after the rain last night!! Was a very wet slog. Alchemy live, yes good man. Enjoying the series, know what you mean in the previous episode about having enough food when you walk, first time i did it I only took weetabix, super noodles and baked beans lol, then i kept walking into towns to buy as much chocolate as i could and a big bottle of ribena which i kept pouring into my water, that helped, weird diet though, thats all i ate the whole way.
