with as many comments as you get, I'm sure you don't remember me, but I still wanted to tell you that I took your advice and went on a Shell Tour with Ali about 2 weeks ago! The shelling bug got ahold of me in SC in late December, I discovered your videos while cleaning my shells from SC and learned that a place called the 10k Islands existed, and by mid March I was on Dickman's and Kice with Ali! Not only did you introduce me to both the 10k islands and SWFL Shell Guide, but watching your videos back in December taught me all the main SWFL shell names/IDs and helped me know what to look for. Having that knowledge made my trip to the 10k islands as well as my short shelling day at Pass a Grille a few days later SO MUCH MORE enjoyable. Not to mention that you also taught me how to bring my finds home and bring out their beauty. I really love your channel and I just wanted to say thank you for "beach time", being my virtual shell guide when I need a shell fix from TN, and taking the time to spread shell knowledge. Everyone thank your Cruise Director, Sharmon!
Have you ever been over to Pass a Grille by the jetty?
I have not been to Pass a Grille yet. It's about the same distance if I were going to do some East Coast shelling so perhaps there is another mini road trip in my future! I would like to go up that way and see those beaches.
@SWFBeachLife so many tulips and murexes by the jetty. Both live and empty. And shell piles galore. You'll love it.
A buddy from work asked me the other day if I've ever gone to the beach I laughed and said yeah I go to the beach nearly every Sunday night he looked puzzled (since we live in Pennsylvania) I go to the beach with SWF beach life. We have a blast. Thanks for taking us along again and showing us all the treasures and critters .
PA representing also 😊
We get to go together! I love it!
I was just thinking the same from Oregon
Me too❤️
Same for me from here in Kentucky!!❤
To anyone who might say she is doing something wrong. No your wrong. If you take the time to watch her videos she doesn't grab every shell she sees (to keep). She takes care of her collection and NEVER takes to many shells. She's a true Florida angel 😇 sharing her wisdom and fun with the world. Very educational too. She even grabs trash off the beach.
Love to see someone as excited by shells as I am. Took my first trip to Florida in January. I went to honeymoon beach. I was so overwhelmed by the amount and variety of shells. Was everything I'd hoped it'd be and more.
Well that's awesome! Honeymoon Island is beautiful and has a really nice variety of seashells.
Thank you for addressing the Hermit Crab issue! Blessings!
😉
That Florida Fighting Conch is GORGEOUS!😊
I love your Sunday night videos, it makes me feel like when I was little waiting for Wild Kingdom on Sunday nights 🩷
I loved Wild Kingdom, sponsored by Mutual of Omaha - LOL!
Every Sunday night! 🙂
Just spent 3 days there. Awesome time spent!
I love your special shell!! I have a mama and 2 baby woodpeckers who live in a big tree behind my house. I have food in my yard hanging from trees and they come and eat everyday. I love watching them. I love all of your treasures. Thank you for taking me along with you. Have a great week! See you Sunday!! XOXO
I think your woodpecker family is so cool! We used to have bluebirds raising babies in a birdhouse nailed to the shed. Then a couple of house sparrows took the box away by killing the babies and the mother, who tried to protect her babies. 😢. I still chase off the house sparrows, hoping the bluebirds will try again!
Have to say thank you again! Your videos convinced me it would be worth doing a Shell Tour out to the islands. It was AWESOME. Our 6 person tour was all experienced shellers so the guide decided to take us to Morgan Island - lots of bugs but tons of shells! I finally got my Angel Wings and lots of other really nice shells.
Lucky sheller! I have not been to Morgan's Island but I hope to one day! How wonderful!
I like the augers. They are so elegant and twisty and bumpy. I just really like them. The others shells are not too shabby either!! Hugs and stay safe xx
Yeah, all these shells are so interesting. I an SO lucky to live where I do. I decided to go to the East Coast this morning and I had a great time and found a few treasures, I know I am so spoiled to live where I do! 🙏🏼
Loved this visit to Dickmans and Kice! And I'm truly envious of that white/purple/pink fighting conch! What a beautiful find!
I went to the waterfront (Tacoma, WA) again on Friday, and found about four shells to keep, but made a huge haul of garbage...5 lbs., 14.4 oz.!! I've now taken 11 lb., 14.3 oz. of garbage off of the beach since Feb. 12th.
So pleased, too, that you made the video on leaving live critters at the beach. Good info for new shellers, and not a bad reminder for everyone!
Holy cow that's a lot of garbage! I didn't remove quite that much this week, but I did visit an East Coast beach and I found 3 pairs of googles on the beach! I haven't weighed everything yet but I bet I made a good dent. Hey, at least we're leaving the place better than what it started as right?
@@SWFBeachLife What I picked up was a lot of broken glass (again) but there was one really big piece of thick vitreous china, with dark brown glazing on it. I'm guessing it might have some kind of maritime use, but it accounted for probably over 3 lbs. of what I collected. Yes, we are leaving things better. It's a great feeling to put this stuff in a garbage can where it belongs!!
@@jantaylor2034 🙏🏼
Oohh! I love your beautiful white shell! You hit the jackpot. It almost looks like porcelain. Happy for you! Love your videos ❤
Thank you so much!
Loved the little baby sand dollar. Great fun today. Thank you! 🐚🐚
Omg the little moon snail ...love the tiny baby shells❤
Always one of favorite things to do on Sunday now😅❤..Thanks for all the beautiful 🐚 shells
Nice haul. Gotta love all those tinies
Thank you so much for coming to the beach with me!
OK... I'm officially jealous ! You KNOW why ! It has graceful curves and perfect proportions. Its creamy white is reminiscent of pristine sands kissed by sunlight and the subtle pink makes it soooooo ethereal. It is a wonder of the natural world. (It would look even better in the Emerald Isle) . :)
I was just showing my daughter my new favorite fighting conch. That purple/pink color is so beautiful! And then I got to admiring the other ones I have and yup - that fighting conch is my favorite 🥰
See ya next Sunday!! Happy saint Patty's Day
Your white pinkish shell is just exquisite. It looks like porcelain. ❤
Always a pleasure to watch your videos ❤😊😊😊
Thank you so much 😀
Hi Sharmon! Love that beautiful fighting conch!! That little bit of pink, ahhhhh 🎼!!! Love me some Dickmans and Kice. My favorite places to shell. Too bad you can't stay there all day. I would do it!!!! Those gaudy's are just irresistible!!! And that orange orange scallop, awesome!! Thanks for giving us another beautiful adventure. Have an awesome week!
Thank you for watching! I hope you have an awesome week too!
That is the most beautiful conch! So delicately colored literally blooming from the shiny white!
Lol. As if we didn't know which shell was your favorite!😂 Great footage of the hermit crab! That sea feather was cool. I hardly ever find a ladderhorn with it's tip intact. Yeah, HI has changed a lot since Idalia. I wear good shoes to walk to the north end and now they get wet at the halfway area with water going over. Eventually it will probably be deeper than I want to tackle...😢 Thanks Sharmon! xxoo
I'm so glad I got to experience HI when I did. I loved it up there.
Excellent video. That white/pink/lavender fighting conch is spectacular!!!
Thank you very much!
Hi, Sharmon 😊 What a gorgeous morning. I'm a early riser; I Love the quiet peacefulness of the early morning, and, spending it on the beach is perfection. Okay, onto the shelling 🎶 🎵 🐚 😎
Best way to start the day!
Thank you for another wonderful time at the beach ! That hermit crab friend was so cute I loved seeing him checking out that other shell ! My favourite shells are the juvenile fighting conches and the lettered olives but I love all the shells really they are beautiful treasures made by amazing critters 😎🏖️🐚🦀
I was just visiting last week, spent a morning on FMB, five days on Marco and our last morning on Sanibel. I definitely came home with some fabulous shells, but my best was a Brown Banded Wentletrap from Lighthouse Beach. I did wander into your favorite low tide spot on Marco and it was really fun. Great video this week, your shell haul is fabulous too (as always).
Good to know that wentletraps can still be found at lighthouse beach! I was worried with all the new sand but boy would I love to find a brown banded one. I'll be on the lookout for sure! I'm so glad you visited so many great beaches while you were here!
@@SWFBeachLife To be honest, Lighthouse Beach was pretty crowded and people were shelling, but no one else seemed to be looking for minis, which is why we went there. I scored a total of 17 Wentletraps, some Bubbles, Ceriths, Rice Olives, Dwarf Olives, Buttons, Cantharus, Turrids, etc. All the minis were there!
@@denisem6754 Yes!!! People leave for the summer so I’m hoping to have some low tide evenings to myself. And I hope those stupid noseeums stay away!
@@SWFBeachLife UM, Sorry, but the noseeums are already out, at least at night. I’m one of those crazy folks who shell at night during low tide with a headlamp, and down on Marco I had to swat them away. I did not see any during the day. But I grew up in Crystal River and remember them being a nouisance for about 9 months out of the year. My grandparents lived in the Blue Ridge Mountains and the noseeums there during summer I are absolutely brutal, lol. Out here on the Great Plains, we don’t have noseeums, but we make up for it in other ways, lol.
@@denisem6754 Those bugs are the worst!! My bug repellent is already packed!
This was phenomenal...that fighting conch is truly a heart dtoppet.. so excited for you! My heart is very light after this adventure! Thank you for taking us along with you!
Thanks for coming along!!
So much fun, Sharmon! You are the best shell guide ever. 😊 Your shots are up close enough to see every nuance of the shells. ❤️. Beach time is great! Our beach is covered in snow...the whitest sand ever!! 😂
God bless...CU next Sunday evening! ❤
The only thing I want to shovel is sand!!! Stay warm beach friend!
FYI I did share with you about the hermit crabs in bottle caps because it was so sad but never did I mean to imply I thought you were depriving them of homes I shell in fort Myers and I know there are hundreds of homes for them. I also know you love critters as much as you love shells. Thanks for all you share. Love this stuff
Not to worry beach friend! Many, many people shared that post and their concern with me. I admire anyone who wants to help out those critters so I don't mind - I just wanted people to know that our Florida crabs are spoiled!
Thanks Sharmon, wonderful beach walk. Your special fighting conch is stunning. Love the tiny sand dollar and lace murex!
That fighting conch is gorgeous! I've never seen one that color❤
Wow! That conch was awesome! It was meant for you! ❤❤❤
It's so pretty 🥰🥰🥰
I so love watching you find shells! I'm also so glad I found something on your Etsy shop to buy! I'm so excited to get it!
Thank you for helping me keep my collection under control 😂
@@SWFBeachLife I received my shells! They arrived perfectly intact and I love them!
@@justjulee9135 Thank you for letting me know! 😃
Love your shell adventures! and you are very educational, I'm learning all the proper names of all of the 🐚 shells.
Oh, what a beautiful white fighting conch--truly outstanding. Really nice haul overall, beautiful beaches as always. Thank you for taking us along!
Hi Sharmon Watching from Byhalia Mississippi always like Monday going to the beach I like watching on Monday so I have something wonderful to start the week. As always thank you for taking us with you❤😊
I like that my videos drop on Sunday but when I first started doing them I chose Sunday to give me the whole weekend to get them done - LOL! I think starting the week with a walk on the beach is the perfect way to get going!! Thank you so much for watching!
Another FAN-tastic day, spending it with my very favorite beach friend. SHARRRRRR!!!! That Fighting Conch is a STUNNER!! I am blown away by the gorgeous colors on it. I love a good pastel colored shell..... sooooo pretty! The decorated weird worm was very interesting. That crab must have enjoyed his new home, he was moving really quickly as he took it deeper into the water. I could hear him saying "It's mine, It's mine..... IT'S ALL MINE!! as he scurried away. LOL!! Thank you so much for allowing us to go with you on your weekly adventures. I look forward to spending some time with my Beach Friend!! See you Sunday!! 🏖♥
Great trip thank you 🤩🤩🤩💖💖
💜
Theangel wings are my favorites. ❤
That purple shell is gorgeous!
Beautiful pink fighting conch and lots of great finds.
As always I enjoy shelling with u ole friend 0:57
But if you collect the broken sand dollars, you can collect the little dove shaped bones inside, which are really cool too.
True!
Thanks so much for sharing information and video snippets about the critters as well. Every time you share the ‘Beach Time’, I subconsciously relax and take a big breath of the sea air! 😄Love it! ❤
I love the tiny shells
That fighting conch was absolutely ethereal!
Thank you for addressing the hermit crab videos! We’ve been bombarded with them.
People just don't know. Hopefully now a few do!
First time in your channel! Thank you so much for sharing your adventure and knowledge. So interesting and beautiful nature!
Thank you so much for watching!
I have just came to Florida for a few weeks ago and I watch you’d shelling adventures every week. Could you tell me where to go to find the most shells?
There is no one beach that is best - they all offer something a little different. I have many, many beaches that I like to visit and look for shells.
That Hermit Crab apartment hunter was THE BEST. Thanks so much. Tell us what the fragrance (smell) might be like while shelling.
The gulf doesn't smell like the Pacific! I went to the East Coast yesterday to change things up and I SMELLED the beach for the first time in a long time. I wonder why that is 🤔
Great shells!🐚
Glad you mentioned the shells being on the lighter side. I just spent a week on FMB and definitely had to put in some work to get my shells. So worth it, but did a ton of walking. I found many shells I was looking for- a GIANT nutmeg and a big alphabet cone!!!
Also- it felt so great to take garbage off the beach. It almost felt like when I picked up trash, the ocean gave me someone in return. ❤️
Oh you did good then! I haven't found a big alphabet cone in FMB in a very long time! It is a long walk but I think it's worth it too! And thank you for picking up the trash too!!! 🙏🏼
I'm a big bird nerd so I loved my trips to Florida. You have so many cool birds down there. I wish we could swap our Wisconsin Grackles with your Grackles. Yours sound so much nicer then ours. & of course I wish we had your beaches & shells. Oh & weather too lol.
I am happy to report I do not miss the Canadian Geese! Those silly birds were all over New Jersey. I love my new shore birds - Grackles included!
Beautiful shells 🐚 😍.
Hi Sharmon! What a lovely shelling tour that was. I'm so happy for you at finding that white/pink fighting conch! I've never seen anything like it before. I'd say you were given a very special gift. I was interested in the very small cones. Can't remember what you said they were called, but I've never heard of them. Is their sting like the alphabet cone and more like a bee sting or worse? I'm curious about cones. You sure found some lovely calico scallops and many other treasures. Have a lovely week and thanks for sharing.
The dusky cone - they are small little things and I suppose they do sting like the other critters in that family, however the cones in Florida won't kill you the way that some in other parts of the world might. I've found live one and I've handled them carefully and got them safely back into the water.
P.S. that pink/purple/white FL Fighting Conch is beyond beautiful! Fab find 😊
Loved seeing the wandering hermit crab. The fighting conch was awesome!
Awesome shells. Very informative.
Fabulous shelling!
I love the tiny shells!
You are such a gift to us rookies! Thank you for your lessons and explanations and soothing voice. I’m planning a trip soon.
That conch was outstanding!
Pretty baby cone !! I don’t often see baby cones!
ok, got the tour info! fave find today is the baby sand dollar...sooooo cute
Fighting conchs are my favorite too! I’ve only found 2 in NC. I live in Va so I drive 5 hrs in the hopes of finding them and whelks
Gorgeous Florida fighting Conch, congrats!
Thank you!!
My favs today were the large shark eye and the white/purple FFC. Truthfully, tho, all those shells make me happy! Can't wait until I get out west this year!
Hey Sharmon, I just had an idea for you while watching, going to message you. Beautiful tour and shells today, thank you!!!
It's a good idea!!!
YOU'RE SO LUCKY!! 🐚 🐚 🐚

Woww, I thought you have a super camera. But, you know how to edit. Thank you
Critters just made it for me😊
The conch you found is sooo pretty 🤩~Evelyn
Thank you Evelyn! I hope your school year is going well! ❤️
Omg! ❤ 27:53
I love your channel❤
Thank you!!!
That was a gorgeous apple murex that Crab got to before you
I know right! But finders keepers 😌
I saw what looked an albino pear welk @ 19:56 through 19:60, on the right side of the screen. Maybe it’s just sun bleached but I thought it was pretty.
Good eye! It was likely a little too washed out for my taste, but that was indeed a pear whelk!
Beautiful tinies 🤍
Hi.....love the pink conch you found. Got excited for you :-) Im new to learning how to clean them up but have read on the different shell sites and yours all the different methods and seem to recall you use straight bleach and that method is the one I had a question about. If you leave a shell too long in the bleach will it bleach out any color of the shell? I seem to remember some you left overnight. Love beachwalking with you tia. xx
I have heard that bleach will remove the color of shells but I don' think it's true. I have left mine in bleach for weeks and nothing happened to the shell color. I don't know where that came from! Now the sun will bleach shells eventually but that likely takes a very long time. I would just experiment a little to make sure your treasures stay the way you like them.
@@SWFBeachLife thank you
Thought you were going to keep the broken sand dollars for the doves? 😊. Love watching you shell thanks for sharing
I would if people would buy them but they don't seem to sell 🤷♀️
I’m not sure if it’s Augers or Seriths but the ones in Australia a lot larger
Beautiful fighting conch 👌. What is the bleach ratio you use. A friend and I were at Sanibel for the first time this month and it is truly a candy store 🐚🪸. There are no words. Next year we are planning a boat tour, so this tour information is so helpful! Thank you for sharing your weekly videos 🇨🇦
I'm pretty hardcore and I use 100% bleach for at least 24 hours. I just love how it cleans up the shells though!
That beautiful FL fighting conch looks like porcelain . 👀 ❤😊
Good evening, Beach Angel and all my beachy friends! It's been a week of highs and lows, but I'm growing stronger every day! It's early springtime here in lovely East Tennessee and I'm planning a memorial garden and planting a flowering tree for my husband. Building on that will begin very soon, within the week. It's going to be a busy spring!
Looks like you're busy, too, Lady Sharmon! So many pretty shells for you to find! That Ladder Horn Snail is so cool with those channels, sort of like a Channelled Whelk, right?
That hermit crab is so funny! I remember as a teenager, my younger half-sister kept bringing home hermit crabs (the non-aquatic ones) to put in an empty aquarium she kept in her bedroom. They kept escaping and winding up in the bathroom! Nothing like getting up at an early hour and finding a hermit crab peering at you from under the shower curtain!
Those appear to be a pair of woodpeckers! Cool!
I've heard another shell channel guy call them Florida naticas, but I guess you can call stuff anything you want! Maybe you can get the different ones recognized as the sharmonii varae shell! Hey, stranger things have happened!
Oh, how I long to be walking the beach at Kice! I'm just sort of unsure about driving so far by myself and staying in a hotel alone. It's not the same world it was when I was younger and braver...
I am really beginning to like lightning whelks a lot more. Of coyrse, scallops are still my favorites because of all their colors, but the whelks are gorgeous, too!
That IS a gorgeous Fighting Conch! So happy for you! And a rose murex, too, at the end of your walk! Hurray!
So proud of you for all that trash, Angel! Good on you!
What a haul! You did have a heavy shell bag, didn't you?
I think tomorrow's going to be kind of cold, but later in the week, I'm going to put those shells I bought several months ago in some muriatic acid. I keep forgetting about it and I may wait until my friend, Sherrie, gives me first pick of her shell collection before she sells it.
Much love to you, my Beach Angel, and to each of my beachy friends, from Rebecca,
The Lost Mermaid 🌹💖🧜🐚
Your memorial garden is going to be lovely I'm sure. We had to clean around our pool today and I moved that lovely shell you gifted me from corner to corner. That was on top of me getting up at 5am to look at the Atlantic Coast for a change. It's been a busy day and it's going to be a great week! I hope Spring is going to be the most beautiful one yet for you Mermaid! 🥰
So cool , he’s sizing it up ! Maybe because it was similar in size he was thinking he needed to hold out for a bigger one? Or maybe he was intimidated by you watching? I will have to watch and find out
I was likely not helping by standing directly on top of that little crab while they tried to check out their new home 😂
Beautiful sand dollars 🤍
Lovely day...when will you be selling a graphic t-shirt "Oh, you're so pretty!"
I just added it to the list of things I must do! 🤣
That red hermit crab was amazing. And the Murex with the critter, that did look like eyes that came out. Very cool. Does Ali go to Dickman's Island? Thank you for sharing with us. :)
That pinkish/white fighting conch is beyond amazing. Wow.
Ali goes to where the shells are! We have been starting on Dickman's and then heading over to Kice.
@@SWFBeachLife Awesome. thank you. :)
Hermits also use plastic trash in Guam. I found one with a deodorant cap.
Oh that stinks. I wish I could ship them some shells from here to use!
I’ve heard from another channel that those worms that attach to shells are common ugly referred to as mermaid bracelets. Just an interesting 🧐 thing !!
I've never heard that but I love it!
I can't get over how gorgeous that white with pink and purple fighting conch is! I'm so glad you found that beauty for your collection and shared it with us. I would also like to express how much I absolutely love when you are able to spot light a critter for us. My favorite animal and its shell is the fighting conch. To me they look like a cute little drunk alien hanging out a car window swinging their arm around the way they do...so adorable. I'm wondering have you ever found a live moon snail and did I hear a little comment referencing ZeFrank?
Confession - ZeFrank is my favorite all-time channel, ever. He is flipping hilarious. OMG, a little drunk alien 🤣🤣 And yes, I did find a live moon snail once. It was amazing! They are huge compared to their shell when they are inflated with seawater. I used to find baby ears too. The hurricane really changed things. I hope next winter is more "normal."
@@SWFBeachLife Oh Yes! We LOVE ZeFrank at my house. I just bought some "Creepy Dave" stickers for my adult children. Hopefully you will find live moon snails again soon. Also, thanks again for helping me identify that Atlantic Distorsio shell. 🥰
@@babs629 Lol creepy Dave. ZeFrank rules!
Hi, I love all your collection. May I ask what kind of camera you use to film? Thank you

Wasn’t that lace murex an albino? It was beautiful!
Maybe? They do come in white and there are some that are a glowing white color. Those I suspect are the albino ones.
do you think you can do a video on collecting all the beautiful clam shells colors 💛💜🧡🩷 All the different Colors One's 🐚🐚🐚love all the pretty colors in a Calico scallop
The only things I can really plan about my videos is the time and the location. I never know what shells or critters are going to show up!
At 21:07 you missed a white crown conch, left sided next to your left hand.
I tend to skip over the bleached out shells unless there is something really interesting about it 😃
My computer died and had to buy a new one but, I am back!❤
Sorry to hear about your computer but glad you're back!
Hi Sharman!! Do you need bug spray for the 10,000 Island Shell trips??
Depends on the time of year. In the winter the bugs don't bother you. In the summer before the sun comes up they can be real jerks! I use the nooseeum spray from Sea Anchored Secrets: seaanchoredsecrets.com
If you decide to order something you can save $5 off your order with code SWF.
What tides app do you use? And what location do you select when using the app? I have Sanibel vacation plans for June. Can't wait!
I showed the app I use in a previous video (the app is called Tides) and I chose the station closest to where I want to go shelling 😃
