I did warn you when you bought it. But its par for the car, once you do it, you will enjoy it for many years. Suggest you get a Vince bar to strengthen it
FINALLY some e46 content.Nice informative vlog. I have to agree with you regarding the fuel gauge when its below the half way mark it reaches empty mark very quickly, thats why I refuel when it reaches the halfway mark...Cant wait for the other two part install, than surely the wrap afterwards will do.THUMBS UP!!
I think someone misread and added a zero. New Supra axles are only $500. $440-450 at some dealers. Other than that, awesome video! Gonna feel much better I'm sure.
Quite worrying that no weld through primer was used when the mechanic was welding the plates to the subframe mounting points. The underseal looks quite thin also...expect corrosion to form in due time...
Hey I watch you channel all the time. It’s been a big help. I doing up a 2000 bmw323i 2.5 inline 6 5speed. I’m hearing the same notice a clunk sound. I’m replacing the bushing for the rear differential. How did you guy take out the two side ones?
@@Deagles456 the welds on my plates were thick and uniform. Work of art! Taso from TKX performance in Huntington station, NY. Hes probably done over 1000 of these!
Damn, that subframe was boutta peace out man! Good thing you got it all done! 🤙🏽 Also, Poly is cool everywhere except in the differential. It will make a whining noise while cruising
I like the video, very informative, but to my knowledge, this applies mostly to E46 M3 99-2001. However, there may be a few plain Jane E46’s with the subframe issue. I own a 2003 325ci with 50,000 miles since new that I ordered. I always inspect the underside every 15,000 miles. No subframe cracking what so ever. Please correct if wrong.
I guess this only makes sense to do on the m3, run of the mill 330i/325i costs less than all the labor to get this repaired. Am I incorrect? How much does it cost to get this done?
Interested to see how you like the Poly bushings for the diff. I've heard they add NVH while driving (which is why most people go OEM bushings for the diff)
hello i have a 2008 328i and after a minute or 2 of start up the abs, dsc and brake light turn on and the wipers go crazy as well as a light shake from the engine does anyone know what could be wrong or any tips
@Jason Bouphasavanh 19" rims were a factory option. I have them on mine. So, no, suggesting that aftermarket wheels had something to do with it, is without merit. I even have coilovers on mine.
Nah mate. It was just badly designed. The engineers tried to keep it light in the rear with little to no lateral bushing supports to absorb the torque. Subframe tears in the rear is pretty common. Don't even get me started with the anaemic radiator pumps and the maccas fried electronics...
And he is right about dropping a tank full of gas i learned the hard way and got a bath and i had no extra clothes so everywhere i went smelled like gas and it is very uncomfortable so i recommend you dont try it
I got my hub replaced but going to change out the pressure line thats in front with one from bimmerworld Incase this line was never replaced Check it out ☺️
So far i bean loving the show good information but lol here we go ali bro u need some welding classes bud and i not trying to say it in a way to be mean but so far all the welding the i seem need to be replaced and done properly like that crack i would done a little Level bevel did my welding gring it then put on that Re enforcement plate then welled it.
Vehicle Virals 😂 Why not? I was hoping to see a kick ass review on some Meyles from FCP euro. Do you think you’ll have them on any of your other current builds?
Bro interesting stuff but you know na that can use more time lapse ( I am not asking you to copy but you can take inspiration from the videos of stradman his vlogging style is good ) but I am subscribed to you since you used to compile images or videos of top 10 cars

Well now I know not to go to PSI for my e46 reinforcement. Anything short of the way Redish Motorsport does reinforcements, you WILL be doing it again. It’s kind of disappointing honestly, I thought PSI was a good shop but damn, I would’ve thought they knew to do this the proper way, this honestly isn’t even close to the proper way it’s a boardline hack job. Also, WHY on earth would you not replace every single bushing when the subframes down? Especially when you already have them sitting next to you ?! 🤦🏼♂️ To anybody wanting to know how it’s done THE RIGHT WAY please watch ruclips.net/video/BcV2k9NIV-w/видео.html
Vehicle Virals give him the bro hug for me 😂 can’t wait to see the wheels and I did do this 6 months after I bought mine 11 years ago. I was lucky no cracking and the tms plates are in thank god but they do need reinspection from time to time
Vehicle Virals Yes I know, I watch all your videos. Just thought that would be the first thing you‘d take care of when buying it. Title and thumbnail just made it seem like you didn‘t know. Sorry that my comment sounded so hateful. Was just shocked by the rip in your thumbnail. Glad you take care of it! 😃

He had a light, but it made it worse! Thanks for the feedback.

Sad shit is i honestly forgot about the jenky ass subframe issues on a 46 and i just bought a 330ci vert to bash in 😐.
On tonight's episode of Aaly's kitchen we teach you how to cook subframe bushings with the help of a little blue tool
💯
Awesome video Christian! I'm Ordering the Powerflex Bushing kit for my E46! Now I think I'll look into getting a Re enforcement kit for my car too!
Really informative video as always Christian can’t wait to see how the M3 comes together 👍👍🇬🇧🇬🇧

Dude. Those welds on the plates are atrocious.
Awful job! After seeing that I woukdnt Take my car there
As long as it does the job, it will never be seen...
yeah they probably didnt care how they looked as long as it reinforced it, it will never be seen
derek delfrate doesn’t matter If it’s not seen. We have all seen it lmao. Trash work

Hey bro. Could you give us a break down on your cost so far to do the repairs and replacement up to this point? Thanks! 👍🏽
On this week's episode.....
Damn! Subframe work just looks intimidating. I seriously gotta get a friend with a LIFT.
Ali is like bruh let me just work stop with the 20 questions haha
I'm right next to Aaly and he just read your comment. He said you don't know what you're talking about
I hope you enjoy that diff whine

Poly will always add NVH, but not by much. Depends on which ones you go with.

That's a hack job subframe mount repair. Yikes. And those stiff bushings are going to Crack that subframe mount in other places now.
Do you think it’s possible to have a full straight pipe exhaust and weld on a tomei muffler at the end? I think I might be the first
What rear arms are those. Look super nice and beefy
keep that RE exhaust clean, clean inside and out every time you wash the car
I think I bought this car, is the last 4 of the VIN 7260?
Ill take this as a guide for the m3 ill buy in the future
Read up the redish tutorial. You'll be much better off.

I saw this on e46 cars even when they were almost new. Practically a guarantee with any aftermarket wheels put on.
What do wheels have anything to do with it?
@Jason Bouphasavanh 19" rims were a factory option. I have them on mine. So, no, suggesting that aftermarket wheels had something to do with it, is without merit. I even have coilovers on mine.
@Jason Bouphasavanh Or maybe, you just have no clue about what you are talking about? Are you familiar with the E46 M3?
@Jason Bouphasavanh The topic is the subframe mounts on the car.
The subframe cracking because of bad designed stock bushings.
There is more to it than that.
Nah mate. It was just badly designed. The engineers tried to keep it light in the rear with little to no lateral bushing supports to absorb the torque. Subframe tears in the rear is pretty common.

My 330ci e46 died the same way :(
Sna Ngem i have a 330i i hope it’s not the same as the e46 m3 :(

No
Vehicle Virals 😂 Why not? I was hoping to see a kick ass review on some Meyles from FCP euro. Do you think you’ll have them on any of your other current builds?
I have camber arms for the coilovers which is why I don't need them. Not sure, maybe the e30 but now sure yet.
Vehicle Virals Thanks for the info. Big fan, can’t wait for part 2!
What’s the worst thing that could happen from a cracked subframe I don’t get the big deal
