My nana’s family is from Belgium! And she used to tell me all about Christmas in Belgium! She still has family there. She told me in Belgium they celebrate Christmas on December 6th! Also in Belgium they believe in St.Nicholas(Santa or Father Christmas) they believe that he does Not come from the North Pole and in-fact he comes on a BOAT from SPAIN with krankle. Krankle is the opposite of St Nicholas if you had been bad that year he would take you to work in Spain for a year and he would bring you back the next Christmas! St Nicholas is the same as Santa he would bring you gifts if you were good! He also wears a white cloak like a saint!
So lovely to hear all the Christmas traditions from around the world. I recycle my gift bags too. You can always make a new tag should the giver write on yours. Thank you Oliver for showing us your Christmas wardrobe! My sister in law loves sloths. I never thought there’d be a sloth Christmas sweater. Now to find one for her…
Merry Christmas James, Oliver and everyone reading this comment :) And thank you James and Oliver for making these podcasts, they make me smile and brighten my day, I always look forward to watch them and this one especially made me feel more in the Christmas spirit so thank you so so much :) Merry Christmas everyone and a happy New Year 🎉 🎉 🎉
HI, I'm from France . You're almost right, we said "Père Noël" as "Father Christmas", but with the litlle childrens, we said "Papa Noël" too 🎅. I hope everyone here had a great Christmas and I wish you a Happy New Year's eve !🍾🥂🎉
Compliments of the Season , James and Oliver. You are doing such a fantastic job with these programmes, thanks so much for all your hard work. All the best for the New Year.
Actually Father Christmas is called "Weihnachtsmann" in German. The "Christkind" bringing gifts, mainly in southern Germany, actually means baby Jesus and is usually depicted as a little angel. 🤓 Merry Christmas everyone! 🎄🌟🎅👼
What a way to start Christmas eve!! Amazing episode as always, I loved hearing the listeners’ stories and your guys’ stories as well. I am so glad you liked the Did You Knows! Hope yall have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year! Cheers! 🎉❄️🎁🎄
My little story from ages ago... A bit late but hey... Anyway when I was 5 years old and my mom called from the kitchen that the Christmas dinner is ready I was just standing on top of a spinning chair and my brightest idea 💡 to jump down from it ended up with me with a light concussion... Very enjoyable Christmas back then...
Happy Holidays to everyone!! However you celebrate it!! Hope your days are well, and happy, and you have the most WONDERFUL time this last week of the year!! Holy crud muffins, it's almost 2022, this makes me feel so old, even though I'm just a teenager, lol.
Hi, I'm from Germany. Just to add a little info, many Germans know the "Christkind" and/or the "Weihnachtsmann"(I think, he looks more like Father Christmas) 😁 Amazing episode, keep up the good work! 😊
Merry Christmas boys, and also to everyone scrolling through the comments! Hope you all are having a wonderful holiday with loved ones and staying safe!!!💙💙

Merry Christmas guys! My mom always wanted to know how the Christmas tree tradition started, so now I know and can tell her because of James’s Did You Knows! Thanks! 🎄
I remember the tradition with the carp from my home town in Germany too. Also in Germany it's not only the "Christkind". It's mainly also just the "Weihnachtsmann" which directly translates to "christmas man" because "Christkind" is a more religious thing I guess and it's more common in the south than in the north or east parts of Germany. But then again it's similar to other countries I guess. I'd really love to here about some stuff like traditions that are different depending on what region you are in Great Britain.
