I don't know what an aux cable is or where you would plug it in on the phone because you'd be using the USB port already and phones don't have any other ports on them.
This is amazing. I've been looking everywhere for a free app to do this but this is the only one that I could find. Thank you. It's so much simpler than any other apps.
I've had trouble with getting rid of black bars on the top and sides of the screencast... as well as getting it to go FULLY Fullscreen. But other than that it's THE best way to mirror a screen properly from Android to PC
To get it to work I also had to enable "USB PC connection > Send Images (PTP)" on my LG tablet. --- If you click the right mouse button in the scrcpy screen your android device will unblank.
After I got it working on wifi I created a batch file on my PC in the directory I installed scrcpy called "start_scrcpy.bat" with the following line in it; scrcpy -b2M -S The -b2M reduces the bit-rate to 2 Mbps, the -S blanks the android screen. Then I right clicked the batch file and selected Send To > Desktop (make shortcut). Right click the shortcut and chose Properties. Then set Run: Minimized. Now when I click the icon it starts scrcpy and the Command Prompt is minimized to the task bar.
Nice one, I was thinking about creating a shortcut that runs a command in order to open the program and set parameters automatically whilst also not actually displaying the Command Prompt (Windows)/Terminal (Linux) Session. At such a low Bit-rate I assume you're running a 720p resolution on your phone? I say/ask this because st 1080p you'll have a lot of artifact due to compression and data loss.
I updated the -b in my script to be even tighter, I've changed it to -b512k. I only use the android tablet for monitoring and viewing video from a 1080p surveillance camera. I don't get much artifacts because the cam is is a fairly static image unless someone walks by. I don't use my Android for watching youtube videos or play games. I also created a start_adb.bat file containing the following; adb tcpip 5555 adb connect 192.168.1.25:5555 So I don't need to edit the IP address every time the WIFI DHCP assigns my tablet a new IP, I made the IP static. The easy method of doing that is on your phone or tablet. Settings > Wifi > long press the wifi router you are connected to. Tap Modify network. Show advanced options. Change IP settings > DHCP to Static. Fill in IP address (make sure it's an IP outside of your router DHCP range. In my setup my DHCP starts at 192.168.1.101, so everything from .2 to .100 I can use for Static IP's without conflicting with any IP's given out by DHCP), Gateway, Network prefix length (24), DNS's (if in doubt use your gateway IP and 8.8.8.8 (google dns)). Save. The other method is to set up a Static Lease for your phone or tablet's MAC address in your WIFI router. In my router it is under Services. Different routers are different so I won't go into detail here.
If anyone gets stuck with things like: Screen resolution changes. Forwarding audio. Creating batch file shortcuts. Using commands, etc. I've got a fair few guides diving deeper into SCRCPY on my channel I look forward to seeing you.
I can think of quite a lot of cases where that'd be very useful - plug your phone into the PC to charge and use bluetooth headsets on it when you're home, nice dialling via keyboard, etc. potentially. I can also see it being useful if you're in, say, a public library when you want to charge and even use the phone (e.g. SMS) but you don't want to have it sitting on a table that's easier to steal. Just leave it in your bag or under your laptop or something and you can still use it, that's be very useful indeed.
Cool stuff! =) Going to try this out in the evening today. I use my old Note 3 as a media/browser, controlled by my new Note 10+. I tried a few screen mirror apps in the store but none worked that good. Then I installed TeamViewer and it solved all the casting problems. So now I just hook up the Note 3 to the MHL adapter and control it all on the Note 10+. Works really well. =) Oh btw, greetings from Sweden. (New sub)

Im getting this error trying to set up wireless A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not properly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because connected host has failed to respond.
This seems way more useful than the app that's built in the windows although dragging and dropping files when texting will be slightly harder. If you can still go into file explorer and open up your phone then you have to paste it there and then find the file the way you normally would on your phone to text it.
Oooh another major use for this - lets people shirk and chat on their phone all day without touching the thing, the boss just sees them "working" furiously on their PC all day. Office workers around the world will love you for this, especially if they can run the portable windows client without needing to install.
Worked the first time, now my pc is saying all the .dll files can't be found. disabled windows firewall, that didn't help. put comodo security in silent mode, that didn't help either.
I used the USB setup to run ZWIFT thru my laptop. My only issue is the colors look a little washed out on my laptop in comparison to my phone. Is there a way to address this?

PS C:\Programs Installed\Screen Copy Mirror\scrcpy-win64-v1.14> dose not come back up in PowerShell after I started the program and it does not auto generate also I tried just typing it in and it doesn't work, unless I close the program and then PowerShell repopulates the command line PS C:\[...] and lets me restart the program... P.S. I totally no nothing about PS or CMD except what everyone shows on RUclips and you made this easy Thank You!

Mine does, I use swiftkey on my phone and when I start typing on the scrcpy window it starts typing on the phone, swiftkey minimises at the bottom and takes my keyboard inputs. I don't see any reason it shouldn't work with whatever keyboard software you use on your phone, just test it out and see if it works. :D
@@longnamedude3947 if you have Android studio installed there is an Android auto emulator that can be downloaded along with the sdks. On ur phone's Android auto developers setting turn on the server and open the emulator on ur pc. If AA doesn't work, open CMD "adb forward tcpip:5277 tcpip:5277" and try again. If it all went well u should have audio routed through USB and u could use scrcpy or vysor I have tried both and they work perfectly, though my phone getting a little toasty after a while since i use USB tethering while AA+ vysor are running 😅
Hi man, this video is ridiculously good, so easy to follow and the mirror is perfect. I have a question, I'm using a software called Dragonframe which is used for stop motion animation, this software connects to SLR cameras and webcams, is there any trick to get "scrcpy" recognized as a webcam?. I'm using a Samsung s9 and I'm able to do this if I use any other webcam app for android, the problem is that with those apps I don't have access to all cameras settings like aperture, white balance, etc. Thanks a lot for all your effort!!!!!
@@ythan1287 to connect to someone phone, you have to give em access... I mean even if you want to adb from pc to your phone, you have to authorize adb RSA key on you phone first
@@michaelormichelle it's good for developing Android apps. I currently use Google's Android emulator and while it's helpful it's not accurate all the time. Being able to tap into my phones graphical States enables me to develop my apps more accurately
U need sndcpy. Scrcpy is only for SCREEN mirroring. Sndcpy is primarily for mirroring SOUND. But you may need to have an android device running android 10. Hope that helps😩😩

So i figured a weird way to get sound on pc using Android Auto emulator from Android studio and it works great.

This is interesting, but if you are only going to use this for messaging there are apps on Linux and Windows that already let you do that natively.

its a very helpful app. I use it all the time, cause my samsung phone screen is black out.

The simple solution is you could connect your phone to your laptop/computer through Bluetooth.
