Hi guys from QLD Australia... Have been watching all the dances on RUclips shorts...love 'em all and many thanks for lifting my spirits and making my day! PS. I CANNOT get this song out of my head...AAAAAAH!
It is the catchiest tune, isn't it? Like 1959 all over again. Great to hear from down under. Cheers from Chicago where "Pink Shoe Laces" originated...first performed by Dodie Stevens.
I love this, I could watch this all day long. I can’t get enough of this dance, cheers me up and puts a smile on my face every time I see this…it looks like a lot of fun to do…..👍❤️🙏🏼🥰😁….I just wish I could join everyone doing it, but my old bones can’t cut anymore, no cartilage in them anymore, knees failing and hips can’t twist anymore either, they’re metal and no give in them….😥😥😭😭😩😭. I used to dance all day long with the music playing on my radio. 👍❤️🎵🥰
I've watched the show since 2017 and just found out about this yesterday. I can't stop watching-great compilation!! And fun fact: that's actually the whole cast AND show creator at 2:03!! You can see Midge's parents bouncing up and down with joy to the music. Well done by everyone involved!!
I love that it also inspired people to dress retro for it, too. The dresses and shorts were modest and look so good on people! No yoga pants here! Thank God 😅
The fifth and final season of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" concluded in May 2023, and in tribute to this fine Netflix series, some clever folks revisited an episode from season 2 in which the song appears. From that the "Mrs. Maisel Pink Shoe Laces Tik Tok dance challenge" was born (May 3, 2023), and everything you've seen stems from that dance challenge. Cheers. JL
I was walking around today in my tan shoes with pink shoelaces, my polka dot vest, and my panama hat with a purple hat band, and not one thing was said to me.
I would have said something, like how great you looked in it. I did this in the 1950s with an outfit like that, they just shook their heads and went on their merry way…🤣
The irony of this is, I actually have rheumatoid arthritis. Sure wish I could do this . Just challenged my daughter in law to learn this dance and collect $100.00 .
Sadly no , so now I've challenged my granddaughter. She wants a red dress , so I said learn the dance and get the dress . She competes in pagents at 10 years old .
@@JohnLeGear for me it’s not about “better”. Bobby Banas initiated a style in 1963. It is simply interesting history. Obviously the current was built upon the latter to something more. It’s not a contest nor a competition , it’s an enjoyable recognition initiated from that era.
Please make more and give us all the smiles and to quote: johnbigboote8900 "Wouldn't it just be amazing if this dance craze was the key to uniting the entire human race to finally embrace universal peace, tolerance and understanding?" Did you ever nail this one!
The late 50s to late 60s had plenty of dance crazes and suggesting a 1961 film was inspiration for a 1959-based dance routine is tenuous at best. Especially as there is little to no similarity between them.
Really like the song and the dance but come on the guys look like clowns when dancing to this I think this is a great dance for just WOMEN so u guys sit down and take a break let the ladies dance...
I can’t dance , never could. I watched this and smiled until my eyes watered. Have a great day all.
You know, I can't dance either, but I'm going do to this anyway!
I’m obsessed with this dance
That's only because you're blessed with exquisite taste in music and dance...cheers! JL
Wow! Thanks for including us! "The California Swing Dance Gal Pals"
Y'all were having so much fun. Good job! Cheers.
Wow! I really enjoyed this, with everything that is going on in the world,it was awesome to see and hear this...love you
This dance makes my heart "soar like a hawk!"
Elevates my mood and puts a smile on my face
I get mesmerized by this dance and song combo. It’s like they float on the jumps. It’s disjointed while smooth as silk.

I can still picture myself sitting on our front steps, listening to this song on my little pink transistor radio! Still remember the words.😀

Love this wish the would stay take every one back to the 50s. Can’t stop watching if !!❤️

Thank you...it is indeed a joy to see younger folks embracing a song from 1959 and a dance from the mid-60s. Fun is good! Cheers. JL
Thanks for including our local KOLR10 folks from Springfield MO! Loved this!

🤓
This series was great. I believe it was about Joan Rivers.
love it!!!!!!!!
I love that it also inspired people to dress retro for it, too. The dresses and shorts were modest and look so good on people! No yoga pants here! Thank God 😅
When did this become the craze of the day? It’s on every dance video I see?

ya sometimes fun is just fun no matter how old!
Pretty cool.
I always say great.
Good stuff. thanks.

Thank you
You're surrounded by total squares. Or rather, you're the square, and unfortunately for them they're circles.
I would have said something, like how great you looked in it. I did this in the 1950s with an outfit like that, they just shook their heads and went on their merry way…🤣
I get mesmerized in Ms. Maisel’s Adam’s apple.
I'm thinking we need an "Old Ladies" version. By that I mean we women over 60. Just so you know, we do not think of ourselves as "old".
My Mom and I are going to learn this, she's 69. :)
Looks like the nitty gritty dance.
My favorite is still the Gardener Brothers.
Heey Savannah Bananas
Actually the pink laces dance is very close to the Nitty Gritty that was performed on the Judy Garland show in the early 1960s
It is indeed...all the good old stuff tends to come around again for a new generation to enjoy. Cheers.
The irony of this is, I actually have rheumatoid arthritis. Sure wish I could do this . Just challenged my daughter in law to learn this dance and collect $100.00 .
Did she??
Sadly no , so now I've challenged my granddaughter. She wants a red dress , so I said learn the dance and get the dress . She competes in pagents at 10 years old .
You should look up the original inspiration for the dance moves: Bobby Banas dancers The Nitty Gritty….1963
Yup...it's good...but don't you think this updated take is better?

The guy on the right sure is enthusiastic. Do his limbs even work like a normal person - they seem so fluid? :D :)
Does anyone know the choreographer?
OMG! I cant believe this is a 'Thing'!!!
Well...maybe you need to get out more...ha! Have a great weekend.
I wish I could dance like this but I’m too fat.
This is the way everyone should remember America. Not what's happened since then. This was America at her peak.
this are only parts, like they are always. life is different for everybody.
Yeah back when women were men’s property, couldn’t get a credit card in your own name or own a home or practically get a decent job. No thanks.
@@witteney3334 Back in an era when you could stay at home and not work. Do you like working? If you had the option.
Aaah yes segregation and racism was rampant... america at her peak
For whom?
Someone help me out here because I've never seen the show. Was this dance in an episode?
Season 2, episode 9 (I'm pretty sure it's ep 9). Pilot episode is free on Netflix, but beware, it just might hook you🤓 Cheers.
Nod to Nitty Gritty
Is this included in a film or TV show ?
Season 2, episode 9 of "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" on Netflix is the series...this compilation is built on top of that episode's clip.
@JohnLeGear cheers ill have to find a trailer
The guys at the beginning actually dance better than the women.

I think this dance is based on one by Jerry Lewis: ruclips.net/video/IVKevMEjIoU/видео.html.

Nah, it owes more to the classic Nitty Gritty ruclips.net/video/8S3Yt-NxY0E/видео.html

@@rearly62 The song came out in 1959. At that time, there was no particular dance associated with it.
All I want to do is watch the original clip and I get nothing but these tick tock idiots superimposing themselves over it.
You might want to head to season 2 of Mrs. Maisel, episode 9...it's right there😊
The world was a fun place before political and WOKE factions! Lets go back please?
Great song but the modern dancing is just plain embarrassing.
Nah...just folks having a bit of fun.
Unreal. Everybody smiled artificial on TV in the Fifties… 😂😂😂
Really like the song and the dance but come on the guys look like clowns when dancing to this I think this is a great dance for just WOMEN so u guys sit down and take a break let the ladies dance...
C'mon now🤣
Is this the same choreography as the nitty gritty?
Inspired by Nitty, for sure.
