Grace it’s so very true about what people assume about us who are in chairs, people so quickly judge us that we don’t have the common sense of a rock or we can’t think for ourselves.
The hoops we have to jump for anything we have to go through are degrading. Who the hell thinks this shit up.
I’m in the process of getting a new power chair and the paper work I’ve had to go through is like a full time job.

    Hi Gracie!
I'm a brand new subscriber. I found out about you through the channel, Pro tips for paras.
I have to say you're absolutely right on that. I live in the United States and it's the same exact thing here.
While my mom was alive (we lost her 4 Christmases ago), the system left almost nothing for her. And now I am disabled from a breast cancer battle between Aug. 2011 - sometime in 2014. I went through some life threatening & painful complications from the chemotherapy infusions I was given. Oh my God! SCARY! I'm left with permanent nerve damage in both lower legs and I'm wearing custom made AFO leg braces. I'm left with more things than that, but since we're on the subject of leg braces and mobility challenges I can just stop here because my story is very tedious and long.
I'm discovering it's not just the system who wants to take advantages of me. But It's also other vultures I didn't expect in the least! Like doctors who think they can get away with it. Another was a store manager (that store is now gone). And The third one was a family member! In the end when they DIE, and they have never repented or confessed to God the ELOHIM/Trinity Almighty, God will ask them what they have to say for themselves! The same goes for our broken systems because all of the politician in this world today are crooks. It's a very different world from when I was growing up in the 60's, 70's, & 80's.

What a ridiculous situation, having to pin an amount of time on an activity, having to copy pictures and not respecting you, they should be ashamed.

I’m curious to know if you, as someone who was born with a disability, are ever resentful toward people who drain resources because they require a lot of medical care due to their own actions. For instance extreme obesity due to lack of self control, alcoholics in liver failure, chronic smokers with emphysema, etc. it seems to me if your only disability is the result of your inability to put down a fork you should have to pay for your own medical care.

Jim Murray Hi Jim! Great question! Though a little difficult to answer... Before I continue, I want to acknowledge that some people do have mental disorders which result in over eating etc. However, yes I do get a little resentful when someone is choosing to not do anything about their situation and are receiving the same services I am. I think this is just because it does take so much effort to receive those services, and I think a lot of the time the people who truly need them are grouped in with the people who take advantage of them. Which ultimately makes it harder for the people who actually need them... Also as another example, I get a little ticked off when I see people who have a handicapped parking permit and are using the handicapped parking spaces, when they might just be overweight but are still fully capable of parking in a normal spot and walking a few more feet to the door. Whereas I need the handicapped parking because it’s the only spot big enough to drop down my ramp and get out of the car. I think so many things can be taken advantage of, and then it makes it even harder for those who don’t take advantage of them to obtain them and use them. I hope that answered your question! Thank you for watching! :)

@@graciebrulotte9218 I feel the need to mention, though, that just because someone doesn't look like they need a handicapped permit (or whatever else it may be) doesn't mean they're taking advantage of the system - not all physical disabilities are visible, and it's honestly not fair to judge them without knowing their story. Yes, I understand the frustration, but there's another aspect I feel like you're overlooking - not everyone who looks like they're taking advantage of the system actually is. I can usually walk to and from the entrance of somewhere if it's fairly close, but I can't walk the extra distance that would come with parking in a regular parking space, so I do park in a handicap one when possible (I have a tag), BUT I try to leave the "van accessible" ones for people who need the extra space on the side for a ramp/etc. (unless a van accessible one is the only space left that isn't too far for me to walk, but that's not the case very often), which actually works well, since where I live, most of the van accessible spaces have the extra room on the passenger side (and most of the accessible vans around here have the ramp on that side as well), and on the occasions that I do have to use my wheelchair, I get it out of the driver's side, so it gives extra space for both of us.
