Dear Mr Fawad, this is one of best presentations that made me to understand the chi square in a better way. Thanks a lot
Glad to hear that. Thanks for watching. Please do share the channel in your research circle.
You analysis style is spot on. Thanks you for the video. Cheers
Thanks. I am glad you liked it
Well described , thanks
Glad it was helpful!
Crystal Clear sir
Thanks.
Thanks sir it's very clear and nice explanation
You're most welcome
Very easy and informative
Thanks for liking
Great Video. Very well done.salam
Thanks. I am glad you liked it
Superb Explanation
Thank you 🙂
May I ask how to interpreted the cross table when there is a significant correlation between personality and color of preference? So imagine the Chi-square was below 0.05 then you would conclude that there is interaction between personality and color of preference. However, I am not sure how to go from there when you want to say something about the kind of this relationship. Can you draw a conclusion for all the colors: saying that introverts like red more as well as green and blue (percentage) but like yellow less then the extroverts? I hope you can help me, thank you in advance.
If the sig value is less than. 05 this shows that personality is associated with color preference or simply a particularly type of personality has a particular choice of color preference
Appreciate it
I am glad you like it.
Great explanation as usual.
A doubt came out: I have a construct (brand love) that has 6 items. I want to evaluate the association between brand love and age.
Do i have to do it item by item?
Thanks for watching. Why not use regression for such analysis.
the variable we take for layer in chi square is that the control variable. also can this be used to analyze significance between the control variable in layer and two dependent variables ?
You can consider it that way, to see if there are differences in association.
May you please help us out by creating graphs of this example? Like graph showing city wise preference Vs personality?
You can use Descriptive Statistics from SPSS or Graphs option in SPSS. Hopefully i can also make a video soon.
A very well explained video, thank you for giving details about reporting as well. Sir, I have a confusion that if we can take only categorical variables in chi-square test then why your variables are showing "SCALAR" symbol with them although by nature they were NOMINAL. Can you please clear this confusion?
Thanks. I am glad you liked it. Actually i did not change the option as it is not mandatory.
@@researchwithfawad okay jazakaAllah for your response.
Good point!
8:42 URGENT QUESTION!!! when looking at differences: does this mean that there is a significant difference, between introverts and extroverts in color choosings across cities? if not, how do i interpret differences between introverts and extroverts in color choosing?
If the Sig value is less than .05 only then we say that there are significant differences. Otherwise, the deduction is that there are no significant differences.
@@researchwithfawad Many Thanx!!!✍🏽✅
Sir could you please explain why did you take the significance level as 5%? Thank you
In social sciences the nornal significance level is 5%. If Sig. Value is less than 0.05"
, we reject the null Hypothesis.
Can we analyze more specific group such as personality and only color green?
Yes, but to analyze it will on category, you can represent the liking of that category by Yes or No
Br , for this video, chi square test, it is useful , well described , personality data is scale data ?
Thanks. I am glad you liked it. It is Nominal.
Help me.
How the preferences have a color name in itself.
I am having trouble coding questions that have more than one answer.
I have a financial instruments variable which has 6 items.
And how to put those answers in one variable so that it could look like your preference e.g.
Please see any tutorial on multiple response data using SPSS.
I want to use four variables for cross tabulation, how can i do it ie two row variables and two colum variables
Add the variable in row and column
is there a problem if i do chi square test without any hypothesis? the report i'm working on is not a research paper, i was doing some analysis on a self made likert scale questionnaire
There is no problem.
how to use four variables for cross tab ie two colum and two row variables
Just add the variables in the row and column
Respected Sir, I need to ask you about "JOINT STABILITY TEST", do you know it?
Sorry no Idea. Please elaborate the software or any material so i can review.
@@researchwithfawad Sir, Stata can be used for this test but i don't know how to run this model
Can we analyze the likert scale in the same way. While there would be agree, not agree Rather than personality traits? If we put DV in row And IV in coulmn. But they are likert scale
If your data is on metric scale why not use other tests. Test depend on the type of data you have.
@@researchwithfawad actually I have continuous data. On 5.point likert scale. In study one wd questionaure tool I used SEM. Then in study 2.wd interview I wanna check relationship. In study 3.built on thematic analysis wd focus group. It's my thesis. I am stuck with study2. I need help.
And I do have some demographic variable like age and coach attitude and I wanna check affect of these on harassment also. Do you have time if I wanna add you?
The type of variables used for your analysis is both scale?
Interval or ratio
@@researchwithfawad But I believe we can use only nominal variables for the chi-square test?
Can I do cross tab between age,Gender and occupation?
Yes, you can.
Sir what we report
If our beta coefficient is less than. 2, but our t-statistics is above the recommended value (1.96) and is also significant.
Please guide
Thank you sir
Beta normally over .10 yields significant results. Report both beta and t value with p value.
@@researchwithfawad
Thankyou so much sir for your guidance.
Sir, I have 15 challenges , I want to check association with demographic variables with the help of chi- square. Like age , I have to take 15 challenges in one go to report or separately I have to report like age with challenge 1 , age with challenge 2 .
Please tell Sir I m stuck
Please check your email for the response. thanks
if asymptotic sig. is zero then what does it mean?
0 is less than 0.05 so the results are significant.
Do u have any idea about logliner multinomial model- goodness of fit after doing cross tabulation
Sorry, haven't worked on this topic.
Sir can we use cross tabulation and chi square test to check associations between demographic variables and our dependent variable?? Please reply
Yes but variables are nominal or ordinal
@@researchwithfawad thank you so much for the response, sir as some suggest these tests can only be used for categorical data so can we justify that???
@@researchwithfawad some demographics are categorical and some are continuous and dependent variable is likert scale variable
If DV is continuous, do not use Chi Square. If DV is ordinal you can use Chi Square
@@researchwithfawad respected sir please check your mail its a humble request 🙏
Is it necessary to conduct chi square test in order to run cross tab? Can't we only use cross tab?
No, it is not necessary.
@@researchwithfawad sir i want to conduct cross tab for my dependent variable with ny demographics but how to conduct as the latent construct has 5 measuring items (questionnaire) and if i wll compute the variable the likert scale range which was 1-5 got changed and i find issue in interpreting results?
You can do it by creating a composite variable and round it.
