@natedog2004 - The band is singing vocables that pipers use to teach piobairechd by voice. It is called "canntaireachd."

Favorite performance of my favorite piobaireachd... I was absolutely blown away by the voices at the end. Just beautiful. I actually have tears in my eyes. :')

how does one know at what tempo Donald wanted this to be played at...all big music...is "NOT"....slow and dirge like...this is a happy tune,a proud tune....composed in honour off a field of "buttercups"....nope ..played well.....and before you ask.....yes I am an expert..!!
Surely great tunes are always inviting interpretation. And a good interpretation celebrates the original tune. That's really the soul and longevity of some of our greatest.

Beautiful. Could I ask someone to please help with the pronunciation of Piobaireachd, Is the end of the word prounounced like a V as some Gaelic words are when translated to english?

Canntaireachd. The link tells you better what it is. Basically each note each embellishment has a given word, so they're singing each note in the old style. This was also how Scottish saved the tunes when bagpipes and wearing of tartan was banned by the English. They sung the notes to keep it alive and note forgotten and passed it on to their sons and so on. There's a book called the MacArthur MacGregor Manuscripts has some history on it.
