White Rock Lake is one of the cleanest lakes in Texas, according the the Texas Parks and Wildlife department. This wasn't always so but the TPWD's efforts have really had a positive impact on water purity. There are many Crappie taken especially up White Rock Creek in the spring and the fish are perfectly safe to eat. I do hope the TPWD continue to stock the lake with Bass and Crappie.
