@@Funem It is indeed a shame. Thankfully, the game can still be enjoyed. But yeah, unless they change their mind, it'll eventually grow a bit outdated. Hopefully they'll continue supporting new OS versions.
I found out this korean game called King God Castle recently. It's pretty fun, and while it has some gacha elements, I wouldn't say they interfere that much, since you can still unlock heroes without relying on the gacha system. I'd certainly recommend it to anyone!
Yeah.... BUT! Maybe 2023 will be the year we get Path of Exile on mobile. The game will be shown at a games conference later this year. So maybe an early alpha/beta build gets released toward the end of the year. Fingers crossed! :)

Punishing Gray Raven is definitely among the top tier arpg on mobile despite the fact that its a gacha game You're still rewarded on how well you play the game but then again money > is a huge factor that gives advantage

You're talking past each other XD For some reason my country uses Hack'n'slash for games that came from Diablo and ARPGs for all games from Witcher to PGR. PGR is not similiar at all to PoE, Grim Dawn, Diablo, etc. Still the best gacha ever
I don't recall why I brought up Path of Exile in the reply. I think he might have left another comment about that and I just bundled both into one reply. But it's 7 months ago, so can't recall exactly, haha. Yeah, PGR is very different. I enjoyed it for a bit :)
I’ve been playing mobile games ever since I got an iPod touch 4 back in like 2013, I’ve played so many games and I’ve found out that the only good ones are the ones that cost money, have no coins or in-app purchases, are played in landscape mode, have a story instead of being a simple repetitive game that gets old fast, and the ones that feel like PS2, PS3 style games. That's one beautiful list, mate! Those are indeed all really solid games! 😍 I know a lot of people agree with you too - I see it all the time in the user ratings on MiniReview. And here on RUclips too. There's just something about the simplicity of paid premium games. The devs are free to just focus on creating an amazing experience, without having to consider monetization, micro transactions, the premium currency economy etc.

Yep, such a great game. However, once you finish all the chapters and realize that replaying any of them will give you the pretty much the same "scripted" experience, it kinda loses its charm. I wish it had more replayability...
Man Dungeons of Dreadrock is honestly S-tier,the art style and voice acting is top notch and all through out my gameplay I haven't found a single bug although the final boss could have been better but the entire journey was just amazing.

I've been playing Undecember since February of this year, and I have spent $0.00 on any of the in-game purchases. Surprisingly the game itself is flawless except for the storage space issues 😢...but it is far better than Diablo Immortal and any other arpg I have come across. Hopefully PoE mobile comes soon!!

Yeah, they use that graphical art-style called "cell-shaded" graphics. That's what gives it that distinct style :) Amazing games, btw. Both Borderlands and Gunfire Reborn, hehe.
It’s a paid game, but Despot’s Game is 10/10 and I highly recommend it. I own the full game on Steam and PS4 and have only played the demo on mobile, but it’s definitely worth the price of entry. I would have gladly bought it again if I used my phone for gaming, but I found out about the PS4 version launching soon after trying the mobile demo and knew I would get a lot more mileage out of that. It kind of reminds me of Slay the Spire mixed with Pokemon or something. It’s a lot of fun. There’s enough single-player content to keep you busy for awhile but there’s also a multiplayer element that a ton of people enjoy. I’ve never put much time into the latter and don’t play many multiplayer games in general, but I get the appeal of it. Anyway, I highly recommend at least trying the free demo out. The controls feel a lot better on controller but they work fine with a touchscreen too, especially after a couple practice runs.

Putting Diablo Immortal on the same tier as Nikke is criminal. The monetization differences are night and day, despite Nikke being a typical gacha. Combat actually needs your input on bosses and strategy is required. The story quality is not even comparable. Sexualiztion is not a point for or against a game - it's extremely subjective. I understand having a bias against gacha, but you're putting other p2w games higher on your list and it doesn't make sense most of the time...

But remember that these lists are inherently subjective, and everyone likes different things in different games. Nikke never really clicked with me. But again, it's all subjective. I'm really glad you're having fun with Nikke, mate. It just proves that there are games for all of us
@@NimbleThor I wasn't going to comment on Nikke being low, because I understand why, until I saw Diablo Immortal join it. I don't hate games because it's a strong word and if I just don't like something I don't play it, but DI makes my blood boil. It was a chance for mobile games to finally stop being unfairly looked down upon and it only worsened everything. I've never seen monetisation this bad in a mainstream game, the level scaling, the lack of optimization, the copy paste job... If I came as offensive, I apologize. I do appreciate your videos for going through the games and giving them an actual critical look. You're doing way more for mobile games than DI ever did.
I completely understand, and I was very disappointed about the monetization of DI too. Such a shame. Now I'm just hoping that Path of Exile will be ACTUALLY great on mobile. It should be coming this or next year.

There's 2 things I look forward to every year around this time. This video. And State of the Sanderson (a blog post from my favorite author). These videos are so well done and lovely and I just wish there were more like this. You do a great job with these Nimble. My favorite games of the year: 1) Poinpy. This game was SO good. Quite possibly my favorite Roguelike ever. 2) Momentum: Turn Based Roguelike. Challenging. Fun. And very much worth your time. Why are games that are based on parry's so good!? 3) Lucky Luna. Second Netflix game on this list, but what can I say, it's another brilliant outing. Beautiful pixel art and great platforming to boot. The swipe controls seemed weird at first but turns out they are incredibly intuitive for what they created. Lots of fun. 4) 1 Bit Survivor. Last but not least on my little list here. This game came out of nowhere and nobody is playing this! It is an absolute blast. Runs through the zombie infested world to protect your cat are fun, fast, and more tactical than I was expecting. This really needs to be seen by more people. The black and white aesthetic looks great and reminds me a lot of Downwell.

Nice video! This year, I played a lot on mobile and agree in almost every point. However, there are some of the best games from 2022 that I miss in this list, like Scourgebringer, Papers Please, Siralim Ultimate or the recent The Alliance Alive HD. Also worth mentioning Netflix has added some masterpieces with it's subscription in 2022, like Spiritfarer, Into the Breach, Poinpy, Moonlighter, Before Your Eyes or Kentucky Route Zero. Finally, I would also say that some games from previous years have had major updates this year that greatly improves them, like Dead Cells or Dawncaster. But don't let this words confuse you, I really liked your tier list, your taste in videogames is pretty similar to mine. You just got a new subscriber! :)

Really liked the video although I obviously disagree with some ratings and observations. Specially to Diablo and Undecember. You can have fun playing those games without spending a single euro. Undecember is my favorite. Although I love Titan Quest, it's the free game I love most playing it right now.

I had the same thought exactly. Do be warned, the game takes a while to fully understand. But the chat is very helpful, and so are the online guides. It's a bit of an adventure, but if you're prepared for that, it's actually really cool 😎

MMORPGs are actually my favorite genre of all time :) I've spent thousands of hours in them - ever since I first played RuneScape in around 2003. Unfortunately, most MMORPGs on mobile have monetization systems that make them difficult to enjoy :/ You're right that I care a lot about the monetization, because I often think the monetization ruins great games. Yeah, that's what I do too. Most of these games are only fun for a week or two :/ I really really wish that'll change one day. But so far, the MMORPG genre seems almost dead on mobile. Just like you, I've also slowly started to move to other genres, such as dungeon crawlers and other types of RPGs. Dead Cells is absolutely amazing, btw
That's Smash Legends. I included it as a little Easter egg for those who watched the 2021 version of this tier list too, hehe. It's out on both Android and iOS, btw. Fun game for sure. It's been a while since I played it, so I don't know how the monetization is these days.
Unfortunately though boom beach frontlines close its servers a long time ago and lasted for 3 seasons due to low playerbase and unable to progress due to resource lacking

Yep, such a great game. However, once you finish all the chapters and realize that replaying any of them will give you the pretty much the same "scripted" experience, it kinda loses its charm. I wish it had more replayability...

Man Dungeons of Dreadrock is honestly S-tier,the art style and voice acting is top notch and all through out my gameplay I haven't found a single bug although the final boss could have been better but the entire journey was just amazing.

I've been playing Undecember since February of this year, and I have spent $0.00 on any of the in-game purchases. Surprisingly the game itself is flawless except for the storage space issues 😢...but it is far better than Diablo Immortal and any other arpg I have come across. Hopefully PoE mobile comes soon!!

It’s a paid game, but Despot’s Game is 10/10 and I highly recommend it. I own the full game on Steam and PS4 and have only played the demo on mobile, but it’s definitely worth the price of entry. I would have gladly bought it again if I used my phone for gaming, but I found out about the PS4 version launching soon after trying the mobile demo and knew I would get a lot more mileage out of that. It kind of reminds me of Slay the Spire mixed with Pokemon or something. It’s a lot of fun. There’s enough single-player content to keep you busy for awhile but there’s also a multiplayer element that a ton of people enjoy. I’ve never put much time into the latter and don’t play many multiplayer games in general, but I get the appeal of it. Anyway, I highly recommend at least trying the free demo out. The controls feel a lot better on controller but they work fine with a touchscreen too, especially after a couple practice runs.

Putting Diablo Immortal on the same tier as Nikke is criminal.
The monetization differences are night and day, despite Nikke being a typical gacha. Combat actually needs your input on bosses and strategy is required. The story quality is not even comparable. Sexualiztion is not a point for or against a game - it's extremely subjective.
I understand having a bias against gacha, but you're putting other p2w games higher on your list and it doesn't make sense most of the time...

I'm not actually against gacha at all. I've played several gacha games I liked. But remember that these lists are inherently subjective, and everyone likes different things in different games. Nikke never really clicked with me.

I don't hate games because it's a strong word and if I just don't like something I don't play it, but DI makes my blood boil. It was a chance for mobile games to finally stop being unfairly looked down upon and it only worsened everything. I've never seen monetisation this bad in a mainstream game, the level scaling, the lack of optimization, the copy paste job...
If I came as offensive, I apologize. I do appreciate your videos for going through the games and giving them an actual critical look. You're doing way more for mobile games than DI ever did.
I completely understand, and I was very disappointed about the monetization of DI too. Such a shame. Now I'm just hoping that Path of Exile will be ACTUALLY great on mobile. It should be coming this or next year.

There's 2 things I look forward to every year around this time. This video. And State of the Sanderson (a blog post from my favorite author). These videos are so well done and lovely and I just wish there were more like this. You do a great job with these Nimble.
My favorite games of the year:
1) Poinpy. This game was SO good. Quite possibly my favorite Roguelike ever.
2) Momentum: Turn Based Roguelike. Challenging. Fun. And very much worth your time. Why are games that are based on parry's so good!?
3) Lucky Luna. Second Netflix game on this list, but what can I say, it's another brilliant outing. Beautiful pixel art and great platforming to boot. The swipe controls seemed weird at first but turns out they are incredibly intuitive for what they created. Lots of fun.
4) 1 Bit Survivor. Last but not least on my little list here. This game came out of nowhere and nobody is playing this! It is an absolute blast. Runs through the zombie infested world to protect your cat are fun, fast, and more tactical than I was expecting. This really needs to be seen by more people. The black and white aesthetic looks great and reminds me a lot of Downwell.

Nice video! This year, I played a lot on mobile and agree in almost every point. However, there are some of the best games from 2022 that I miss in this list, like Scourgebringer, Papers Please, Siralim Ultimate or the recent The Alliance Alive HD. Also worth mentioning Netflix has added some masterpieces with it's subscription in 2022, like Spiritfarer, Into the Breach, Poinpy, Moonlighter, Before Your Eyes or Kentucky Route Zero. Finally, I would also say that some games from previous years have had major updates this year that greatly improves them, like Dead Cells or Dawncaster.
But don't let this words confuse you, I really liked your tier list, your taste in videogames is pretty similar to mine. You just got a new subscriber! :)

Really liked the video although I obviously disagree with some ratings and observations. Specially to Diablo and Undecember. You can have fun playing those games without spending a single euro. Undecember is my favorite.
Although I love Titan Quest, it's the free game I love most playing it right now.

MMORPGs are actually my favorite genre of all time :) I've spent thousands of hours in them - ever since I first played RuneScape in around 2003. Unfortunately, most MMORPGs on mobile have monetization systems that make them difficult to enjoy :/ You're right that I care a lot about the monetization, because I often think the monetization ruins great games. Yeah, that's what I do too. Most of these games are only fun for a week or two :/ I really really wish that'll change one day. But so far, the MMORPG genre seems almost dead on mobile. Just like you, I've also slowly started to move to other genres, such as dungeon crawlers and other types of RPGs. Dead Cells is absolutely amazing, btw

That's Smash Legends. I included it as a little Easter egg for those who watched the 2021 version of this tier list too, hehe. It's out on both Android and iOS, btw. Fun game for sure. It's been a while since I played it, so I don't know how the monetization is these days.
Unfortunately though boom beach frontlines close its servers a long time ago and lasted for 3 seasons due to low playerbase and unable to progress due to resource lacking

But regardless your other videos are fine I just feel like you where to brief with most of the games in this list and it made it hard to tell what they would actually be like. Basically I would have to watch another video if I wanted to get the amount of info I want on the game I was interested in. Your reply back has me thinking you might even feel the same? I understand what you mean :) It's a super tricky balancing act, because if I talk for too long about each game, people just click away (I can see that from the RUclips analytics), so it's about finding that middle ground. Maybe I talked too little about each game in this video :) Will consider that for the next one of these large videos at the end of the year.
