Vortex Generators what do they really do?

Tested many times before and after install , they do work, why would airliners, corporate jets and even fighters have them if they did not worked.

Yes they do. I don’t know by how much. I don’t think it’s much, depending on whether they are installed over the whole wing or just over the control surfaces.
