    I literally asked a panasonic rep at my local photography store "what macro lenses do you have?" and now here is the one. Amazing. Can't wait to try it. The focus ability is great!
    I hope they re-introduce the focus-stacking feature they had on previous cameras from the G-series.

      Yeah it's a sweet little macro lens. A much needed addition to L mount in my opinion!

      It's definitely one of my favorite lenses LUMIX has released

    I just realized that I own the 50mm lens in this series. I need to use it more. This 100mm looks amazing. I’ve never owned or even used a macro lens.

    Awesome review. As someone who has the entire set, for someone who is just starting out with getting into client work (Not starting out with videography, just client work) do you think the f/1.8 lineup and the 100mm are a good buy, or should I just go straight for the Nisi? Like, the difference you're getting, is the 35mm Nisi vs 35mm Panasonic really night and day? Would love to see a video on that but would love to hear your thoughts.

      Not a bad idea actually to make a comparison video. I think I'll do that. I would say if you're more a solo shooter the LUMIX primes might be better. They're lighter and you get AF. But NiSi Athenas you could get in PL Mount and they'd hold their value in the long run probably and they have more utility on a set with a team or documentary. I would say in your case the LUMIX primes are probably a better buy but you can't go wrong with the Athenas. They are MUCH heavier though

      @@DustinArmstrongPro yeah I’d love to see a side by side blind comparison. My worry is that clients may think the lumix lenses are too cheap looking or not “high performing” enough compared to Nisi.

      I don't think so to be honest. If you just put a cage on the camera with a matte box, that'll make the whole setup look more impressive

      @@DustinArmstrongPro thanks a bunch for the replies you should definitely do the comparison if you have the time cause people especially newcomers will want to see the difference and not be discouraged

      Good quality never cheap… but nicely priced I would say, less tan a thousand for prime f1.8 that are light and have a lineup with same shape and format, super convenient.

    Where did you get the focal indicators that are on your caps?

  • @berndkiltz
    @berndkiltz Год назад +1

    I have 4 of them. Love them, only that the minimum focus distance on the 24, 35, 50 and 85 could be better

    Linear focus in not exclusive to Lumix, though -- Sigma L-mount lenses can do this with the S-series cameras (unsure about the Blackmagic L-mount and fp L). The earlier Sigma releases don't all have the full range options since they've retrofit the feature to them. It's possible that it's part of L-mount protocol by now.

    • @DustinArmstrongPro
      @DustinArmstrongPro  Год назад

      As of right now it is exclusive to LUMIX cameras yes. You're only able to change the setting if you're using a LUMIX camera. Yes does it work on some other L Mount lenses that are not LUMIX like sigma, but it still has to be mounted on a LUMIX camera

      I mean they might. That's why they're considered loaners. They could ask for it back whenever (some I've given back within weeks of launch some I still have) either way it's still not mine to giveaway lol
