It was a tough time back then for the skating industry. A seachange from vert to street and a total lack of popular interest created a survival environment. Even the previous masters of skating had to adapt from vert to technical street. In the early 90's, no one was safe aside from a handful of guys. Mike Vallely, Ed Templeton, Natas, Mark Gonzales and Tommy Guerrero. That was it and the new guys had to fight dirty to sell boards.
Damn near 20 year old footage and without rail work he is better that most kids skating today....and looked like he was having waaay more FUN!!! Yes to double frontside flips 20 years ago....frontside full cab flip?? I dont see any pros rockin that one today!! =)
I have waited 11 long years to finally tell you there is no such thing as a full cab. There is only a caballerial and half cab. Talk to you in 2035, brother! 👍🏽
"Now this is Ocean's big debut video part so we're going to want to make sure that we get that kid with Parkinson's to film the entire thing with wax paper over the lens-and make sure you have the low-light, total dogshit filter set all the way to up 100% this time."
There is a part of the ravers video where I'm on a trampoline. A quick 5-10 second clip. Trying to find it for years. Do you have the video? It might be Steve Berra's part. Can you post it??? Please :)
Great skateboarding, terrible filming. Worst I've seen. What's with cutting him off at the legs all the time? WTF? Out of focus too. Jeezus with Tony's bankroll they should have hired somebody decent. Rant over.
Dam this was such a fun time for skating for me miss those days
Born in the wrong era at 23 bro wish I was born in 67 instead of 97! 😂
@@UTCSB I feel the same way. Wish I was born in 66 instead of 96…

I’d still rather be a skater in the 90s then this decade
ocean howell has probably the sickest steez of all time, especially when it comes ledges and rails.

Crazy, that to this day, no one had and has a comparable style. Maybe better, but not comparable.
My brother had this on VHS!
Did he wear a beanie during the summer time?

No
No, but Thurston Howell III (the guy that famously got stranded on an island during the seventies) was his uncle.
I have the video, I will look for the clip :)
Concerto in X minor
"filming"
Abysmal filming even by 1993 standards.
It's amazing how some videos back then were filmed so well and the rest were an absolute embarrassment.
Soft serve whigger that is scared of vert.

This specific upload of his part is zoomed in a little for whatever reason. It's actually not as close as you think
+Paul Mayer Tony was not wealthy during this period.
@@CaptainCorpulence for real, tony said he was looking in his couch cushions to scrape together change for taco bell in this era
