- Wildwood police officers responded to a late-night disturbance at local Wawa after a lawyer and his girlfriend got into a fight. The couple apparently started arguing after Bobby Rumalla’s girlfriend accused him of texting other women. The Florida attorney defiantly yelled at the officers, “You think you know the law better than Bobby Rumalla?” After being arrested for disorderly intoxication, Rumalla said his “wife is going to freak out” when she finds out. Rumalla pleaded not guilty.

Like most criminal defense attys I had to deal with. Sleazy like their clients.
You have to be a complete sleezeball to be a defense attorney. To defend a guilty party (often violent and predatory) and convince a jury or judge to set them free or give the lightest punishment is pretty despicable but I also agree that all deserve counsel. Doesn’t mean that the counsel is living within the same moral scope than I am.

Most lawyers I've worked for and met are completely unhinged and out of touch. Rich parents, never worked a job in their life. Ego's the size of Jupiter. Probably also a lot of undiagnosed psychos/sociopaths. Obviously there are exceptions, but the requirements for the profession essentially select for these awful characteristics.

Why didn’t the male officer say “because their human beings and also citizens.” What kind of answer is “I can’t answer that” to the question “Why do women have all these rights??” Its giving misogyny and chauvinism from the officer.
I think he just didn’t want to get into a conversation with this dude. If he opposes him, he’s just going to escalate this situation, and it won’t make a difference to the drunk guy anyway. He’s not going to even remember the conversation 30 seconds later, let alone change his mind about this “beliefs” I’ve had interactions with drunk dudes where it’s just not worth getting into it and working myself up. It’s usually a lot of “Hmm, okay, yeah” responses, just enough to placate the guy so it doesn’t escalate. Saying “I can’t answer that” is an appropriate response from an officer in this scenario. He’s not getting the guy anymore worked up but he’s also not agreeing with him.
