    Here's a testament to how unique Dune is. Even for Star Wars, it took maybe two or three notes to get it and most of the others were just as fast. But Dune is recognizable not even by the notes but just by the sound of it. Naming Dune took no time for me because the sound of that movie is so unlike anything else and you can immediately tell when you listen to any of the tracks

    • @izjgxj4275
      @izjgxj4275 3 месяца назад +3

      Well that's not that specific to dune though but rather to hans zimmer as composer. Many of his scores are quite unconventional. Compared to John Williams for example who is known for great orchestral compositions and melodies you just cant forget zimmer uses a ton of different unusual sounds and synthesizer. These aspects just make some of his pieces incredibly recognizable by the smallest portion, while others might be harder to piece together as they dont have a clear melody or motif you might recognize.
      Also I guess I wouldnt be wrong by assuming you did listen to music from dune more recently than most of the other movies for no particular reason :D

      @NickiRruhland well tbf John Williams, as amazing as he is, has never went batshit crazy and started inventing new instruments so Dune will sound alien or experimented with blending electronic music with orchestra or redefined church organ away from sounding gothic/religious. Sure John Williams is phenomenal with a traditional orchestra but Hans Zimmer has done unique stuff from inception BRAAMS to joker theme with one note played with a razor blade on strings to throat singing in Dune. Hans Zimmer is way more versatile than John Williams and they are both incredible in their own right. We are just lucky to have them both

    Having just seen Raiders of the Lost Ark, I got the Indiana Jones one. I was close to getting Jurassic Park, but initially thought Avengers.
    The thing about me is that even just a split second of a tone or sound can make me think of a music track. I have an uncanny ability to recognize and remember music compared to most people; I was actually humming tunes before I could even talk. Music is my gift, and I want to use it.

    I got all of them. I'm a big fan of film scores. I can recognize who composed it, too, just by their style. I like to play a game with myself when I watch movies and guess who scored it before being confirmed in the credits.
    I'm also surprised at how many people ignore scores. They're the soul of the movie. There are movies that use music these days to just fill awkward silence when it should be elevating or enhancing the scene.

    Interesting choices. I got 9. Star Wars, Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, Lord of the Rings, Oppenheimer, Dune, Schindler's List, Indiana Jones and the New Star Trek. Although I didn't always immediately recogniose the piece, I recognised what score would fit the film best displayed onscreen.
    But how on earth can you talk about Star Trek Music and leave out the music from the Original Films? I may have been born this century, but even I recognise how vastly superior it is.

    I also believe that Harry Potter is the greatest film score of all time. The structure of the scores for the Lord of the Rings trilogy may have been planned more meticulously, but the musical content in Harry Potter is unmatched. The orchestration and harmonic movement is so identifiable and most of the melodies being derivations of the three themes from the Hedwig's theme suite is incredible.

    12/15. Coming from a soundtrack aficionado, who listens to said genre more than any other music genre.
    What I missed:
    Harry Potter: Although I have listened to all the soundtracks from that series (expanded, to boot), aside from The Goblet of Fire and Fantastic Beasts, I don't revisit the music from this series very much, so a short, obscure bar is likely to throw me off. Also, I haven't even watched the movies.
    Mission Impossible: I have neither seen the films, nor listened to any of the full soundtracks. But maybe I'll change that...
    The Hateful Eight: A case where I haven't been anywhere or done anything to hear this music. Until now.
