      How was the ccent compared to the network+ exam?

    • @JohnTheFierce
      @JohnTheFierce 5 лет назад +1

      Kevin Richardson In terms of material the CCENT exam has a more in-depth networking approach than the Network+. One must know how Cisco devices work/operate and doing labs is a must when prepping for Cisco exams. Network+ is broader and covers lots more topics than the CCENT, and its vender-neutral if your looking to work for a non-Cisco shop. Overall, CCENT was tougher for me than Network+. Good Luck to you!

    ITProTV has very good CCNA R&S series. They actually have two. One is their usual very thorough, in-depth series (41hrs). The other is an accelerated course taught by Todd Lammle himself (21hrs), great if you already have networking experience or just need to go over the exam objectives quickly week before/of the exam.

    Safari Books online is amazing. Everyone on my team at work has a complimentary subscription paid by our employer. I used it a ton when studying for my CCENT and will use it when I start my CCNA Collab studies.

      I actually just started today! Watching Kevin Wallace's video CCNA Collaboration series for a start. Next I'm going through the Cisco Press book. Also, my company has purchased a week long online training session for me in February. Right now I am planning on setting for my first test in April or May! Praying I can have completed the CCNA Collab before the end of the year!!

      What's good brother. Thank you for this video. I have been looking to start a new career. I love computers but have never really explored this side of things, at least not career wise. For the past 2 years I've been about as frustrated as anyone can be financially and have lost a lot, especially these past few months while trying to make it in SF. I lost my girl to guy who's more "financially secure" than I am right now. Now I have to hit the reset button on my life while dealing with the pain of losing someone I thought was in my corner. What's worse is we have a pair of twin boys together. Bottom line I had to find something that would be financially worth pursuing career wise and I hope I've found it here.

    I decided to get my BS degree and the CompTIA and Cisco certs all at once by going to WGU, it wasn't as hard for me because I'm not working and used financial aid and a small loan so I could spend more time stuying, now the next big step is convincing somebody to hire me

    Really enjoyed this video :) I just recently finished my Network+ training, will be taking that exam hopefully in the next few weeks.
    I start my Cisco CCENT training course, tonight, followed by the CCNA Route & Switch training right after (got a grant for all this training, *plus* one free shot at each exam, so making the most of it!)
    Our instructor mentioned we may want to consider building a lab, so that was my Christmas present this year - got a mini rack (12U) with a Cisco 1841 router and Cisco 2960 switch from certificationkits.com. Have a full virtual network going already, and am just starting to figure out how to hang a new computer off the switch and allow it to have Internet access through my home router.
    You and Network Chuck have been really encouraging and will definitely be watching more videos along the way in these next few months as I train for the CCENT.

    Everyone says the same thing.... get the books, do packet tracer labs, blah blah blah. Problem for me is that I’m not good at self-study. I need an actual face to face class. Not video class either. I’ve tried self study but i just don’t have the discipline with full time job, wife/kids, etc.
    What are my options without spending my 401k?
