Hi hope the answer to the question will it run after being in the box for 40 years is "yes" otherwise this is going to be a very short video ! Stephenson's Rocket was an early steam locomotive built in 1829. Stephenson designed Rocket for the Rainhill Trials, and the specific rules of that contest, as the first railway intended for passengers more than freight,
the rules emphasised speed and would require reliability, but the weight of the locomotive was also tightly restricted, Stephenson's Rocket won hands down. horby made this version of the Rocket in 1980, and have just re-released an all new Stephenson's Rocket in oo scale, for model railway enthusiasts for Hornbys centenary
