Joseph was loved by the his father. Gen 37 v 3: Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colors. He put in a pit and then was sold because of envy, but rose to ruler Egypt to save his family.
The Bible tells us that “at midnight Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God” (verse 25 NKJV). Suddenly an earthquake shook the prison, their shackles fell off, the walls came down, and they were free to go. The Philippian jailer, assuming they were free, knew he would be tortured and then put to death. He was about to commit suicide when Paul cried out of the darkness, do yourself no harm. Then the jailer wanted to be saved, and Paul said that he must believe in Jesus, and then Paul baptized the jailer shortly thereafter.
