  • The US city of Baltimore is suing the operators of a cargo ship that ran into and destroyed a major thoroughfare bridge last month, killing at least six people. It comes as the FBI opened a criminal probe into the bridge collapse, looking at whether or not the crew of the ship knew of serious problems with its systems, before it left port on the day of the incident. Sal Mercogliano, maritime historian at Campbell University, North Carolina tells The World’s Beverley O’Connor the big issue has been reports the ship may have lost power prior to departure.
