    Nice and well explained video! Getting 500+bhp out of these 3.0TFSIs is expensive! I have a stage 2 S5, with just intake pipe, airbox mod and 187mm crank pulley, so only cost about £400 over stage 1 and got 482bhp and 425lb/ft. I would have to really want to chase the figures to spend the extra £1000s for 26bhp and 25lb/ft. Good work, without guys like you there wouldn't be any advances and smiles per gallon.

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  2 года назад

      'puffs of smoke' - it's a new exhaust, there is always debris from manufacturing which come out when ran under high load for the first few hundred miles as it gets dislodged.
      We also log all of the cars we tune, so we can see from the data if there is knock, or not.

    This might be a stupid question but i was considering an a6 allroad and i know that it also has the 3.0 motor and similar power output as an s4. Is the allroad turbo and the s4 supercharged? Was wondering if i can still tune and get adequate power from the allroad? Thanks I’m a newbie to the Audi world

    • @RegalAutosport
      @RegalAutosport  3 года назад +3

      No question is stupid! The A6 Allroad did come with a 3.0TFSi which is similar to the one in the S4. You can get the same/similar gains as this S4 with the same mods.
      To find out more, you can speak to a performance specialist by using the contact info in the description

    • @TwentytenS4B8
      @TwentytenS4B8 3 года назад +4

      The A6 also has the same engine and depending on year is either supercharged or with turbo. You will gain more top end power with a turbo because it doesn't run out of breath like a SC does and is more efficient. Plus with a turbo, all you need to do is tune the ECU to get more boost. You don't need to install pulleys. You still want to upgrade the intercooler\heat exchanger when you make power upgrades to maintain lower charge air temperatures. If you don't, what will happen is the ECU will detect more knocking due to the higher temps and pull timing which will decrease power output.

      @@TwentytenS4B8 awesome thanks for the info!! It’s confusing because as you know Audi says 3.0 T but it’s actually supercharged guess I just wanted to confuse people LOL.

    • @TwentytenS4B8
      @TwentytenS4B8 3 года назад +2

      @@mcwendel8066 Audi like all other German manufacturers likes to be unique in their verbiage. They hit a home run with the 3.0T and they decided to put a variant of that engine in other models. The SQ5 also runs this engine. And I'm pretty sure the standard Q5 also has it as an option since most have the 2.0T. Later years, they went to a turbo which really put this engine at the top of the pecking order. It is capable of generating 500 plus HP, but then it would crap all over everything else they offer. That's why the 2.5L five cylinder in the RS3, and TTRS isn't putting out the power it is capable of. Because it would then torch an RS7. Even an R8 would have its hands full running against a 2.5L or even a well tuned and upgraded 3.0T. Really late offerings of the 3.0T came with a turbo instead of the supercharger. These in my opinion are the better option because to get more boost, all you need is a tune since the ECU controls boost and no more messing with pulleys.

      Not as far as we're away, compound charging will also introduce more heat into the charge system and these cars are already knock limited, so adding a turbo(s), it doesn't solve the limitation of the hardware which is causing knock limitations.

      Thanks for the comment! These already have the secondary cats removed and none of our customers have had any issues with the primary, probably due to the APR software perhaps not running as aggressive ignition, overrun crackles and flames through the exhaust.
      All of those things degrade the cats and then when you add bad quality fuel into the mix.. it's a recipe for cat failure.

    • @adampennington16

      @@RegalAutosport pretty impressive that they’ve managed to get that much power and still keep the cats at a safe temp, most other tuners recommended decats which is an engine out job. Mines still standard for now but plan to go single pulley next year 👍

    • @davewilliams7565
      @davewilliams7565 2 года назад

      It's all in the mapping. Dual pulley only increases the SC speed, the mapping will control boost and exhaust temps. Max SC ratio is 3.2 on these engines. The SC cannot give any more boost, the efficiency is lost and it turns into heat gun rather than air compressor. Safe ratio is around 3 to 3.1. Also most go big on Crank rather than SC pulley as you can get a 206mm crank pulley now. Another option is move the cats to where the downpipe silencers sit away from the hot manifold.

    • @davewilliams7565
      @davewilliams7565 2 года назад

      @@RegalAutosport Most melted cats are a result from improper tuning or trying to squeeze more out of the engine. Some say the earlier cars are more prone to this. Ps, these Engines don't have secondary cats.
