What’s going on guys and welcome back to the channel! Have you ever ridden a coaster so intense and downright insane, that the only thing you could say when you got off was just Wow? In fact, it may have been so intense that it wasn’t even re-rideable. Well, I’ve had 5 or so of these experiences, and the first happened when I was kid riding none other than Six Flags Magic Mountain’s X2. X2, opening in 2002, is and was a very highly regarded thrill ride that is capable of sending riders 360 degrees forwards or backwards, all whilst traversing one of the most expensive track layouts known to history. Because of this, to this day it is often seen and dubbed as one of the most intense roller coaster creations ever, and will make a lot of Top 10 lists for the world’s most overall scary attractions. But did you know that unbelievably in 2006, an even taller, faster, longer, and arguably more intense version of X2 would debut in Japan? Well, one did, and guess what, I traveled to ride it. Yup, just on that last trip to Japan my family and I conquered this thing. With speeds of nearly 80 miles per hour and a height smashing into the hyper coaster category, this perhaps Top 3 contender for most intense coasters on earth has been thrilling riders for over a decade, and seems to have its fair share of lovers and haters. But I’m here to put that argument to rest and give you a history as well as comparison to its sister coaster X2. So what is it? And where did it come from? This is the story, of Fuji-Q Highland’s, Eejanaika!

I have only ridden X2, but I am not surprised by what you said. It seems that Eejanaika might have the better layout, but I totally love the lack of refinement and imperfections of X2. It's one of my all-time favorite coasters, and if Six Flags ever wants to move it to Frontier City, I would be happy with that. I'll volunteer to help with the reconstruction, free of charge.

SFMM is my home park, and I have always assumed E would beat-out X2. I still would think that but love your prospective. Great review of both coasters!

Without the 1st, there might not be a second. X2 wins and took the greatest risk, and yeah they lost.

Even i305 and Skyrush can be marathoned, but Eejanaika is impossible to marathon as it's so insane

After riding both it’s hard to say because I’ve ridden Enjanaika for the first time earlier this year (2024) and the last time I rode X2 (several times) was probably 2015ish, give or take.
The almost 10yr gap between the two makes it hard to give an honest review. And riding Enjanaika most recently, it will have that recency bias.
In the both, these two are still the most intense roller coasters I’ve ever ridden.

Eejanaika is better, but that doesn't mean X2 is worse (??)

Rate of speed is redundant. Speed is a rate.
