When they were talking about being "vanilla" they were taking about being plain so he basically just called him plain, the dub is very funny and really well done
I think this video didn't show many good clips of Bokuto. He definitely has the same passion as the sub, but it leans a bit more goofy just like most of the characters
My general argument for haikyuu dub/sub. Want to fully delve into the story in its purest form. Get super into the sport and drama then watch the sub. Want to understand where the crazy ass fanon personalities came from then watch the dub. I would also say watch it first in sub then rewatch in dub.

"OSHIRI" is a very nice word for buttocks, we have another word "KETSU" for ass, which was actually used in Haikyuu during the game with JOZENJI (yellow party team), Tanaka and Noya begged Kiyoko to say it... in sub, it was changed to "spank", I believe. Vanilla for Tsukishima simply meant "a normal one" in Japanese, compared with Hinata. BOKUTO's "I am calm!" actually sounded the same in Japanese 😆
I watched Haikyuu so many times now and watched both sub and dub, personally, i prefer the dub cause I think its funnier XD there are 2 scenes not on here that I thought was better in dub - when Coach Ukai was asking Asahi to come into the gym - and a line Tanaka said in one of the matches (one of my favs in dub) EDIT: Here is the quote from Tanaka "What are you, emotionally constipated?"

Bokuto's "Fine then, Tsukkibladada" is absolutely my favorite part of the dub. It took me out the first time I heard it.
