Great information. I have a square face. Some of your suggestions work for me, too. Especially increasing the height at the crown and no triangular shapes. Thank you so much!!!
Christine, You are such a pretty lady, and your videos are so helpful. I certainly qualify for the over 50 bunch at 73, and am a newbie to wigs since beginning my hair loss about 4 years ago. Thank you for helping me! :)
2024 - I learned so much from watching this video. Between travel and busy life a great alternative to my favorite monthly salon visits that sometimes are impossible to keep. Thanks Christine
Very professional advice!…..I’m a stylist for 38 yrs and what your talking about is the same way a stylist approach’s bio hair. So good job Christine🙌🙌🙌
Hello Christine. I found your video very informative and helpful. I’m turning 70 this year, and I don’t have a problem wearing a wig that hits about clavicle level. Depending on weight fluctuations, I can go from semi round to oval, but I think I’m probably my worst critic and only see a round face. Besides a double chin, I also have a sagging neck. Short styles, IMO, make that sagging neck look awful, especially from a profile stance. I have an artistic theory when it comes to camouflaging a round face, double chin, and sagging neck: go with a clavicle length FLIP style hairdo/wig. Hair hitting the clavicle hides a multitude of “sins”, plus the flip style draws the eyes upwards with the flip motion of the hair, whereas opposed to a bob that brings the onlookers eyes down towards the sagging. I’ve been wearing a flip style bio hairdo and now wig since about 2008. People find it becoming, a bit retro, and just plain fun. Further, another hint for double chins, sagging necks, jowls: Face Tape. Yep, you read that correctly. Due to health reasons, I’m not a candidate for a neck lift. Plus, I’m not wasting thousands on reconstructive surgery. Just go to Amazon and search Face Tape. I place mine on my neck just a bit below and behind my ears. The tape is pulled by a band that goes behind your neck. It takes at least 5-10 yrs off of your neck and face.
@@jekku4688 More than happy to help. There used to be a female TV personality in my hometown. She used to duct tape her sagging neck . No joke! I'm a retired RN, and a friend of mine was a reconstructive surgeon. He told me about a patient who insisted on having a face and neck lift. He told her she didn't need one. They went round and round over it. She finally bent over at the waist; he hears "rip, rip"; she comes back up with sags and wrinkles; he told her that if she could get that effect with tape, she should keep doing it. I guess they'll have to tape my neck in the casket. Lol. Ordering another flip wig this week.
I hope this year brings happiness and prosperity to all american and to the worldwide 🌍. I'm Michael Pollack by name from Key west, Florida...where are you from if i may ask?
Kate by Noriko is one of my favorites. Especially by tucking one side behind my ear. But it runs small and it is super annoying to be tugging on the back all day. I also take a slightly darker shade of blush than I wear on my cheeks and line my jawbone with it and put it right under my jaw. I use a big fluffy brush so it doesn't have noticable edges.
Thank you for this. I love what you did with Ambrose, I've always loved the look of that piece. I'm going to watch your video on face shapes, I always thought I my face was round but it's 8.5 inches long and widest at my cheek bones.
I have a round face (no double chin yet). I've found Raquel Welch's Ready for Takeoff to be the MOST flattering style -- it has side-sweep bangs, some height at the crown, and is short, ending around the bottom of my ears. There are others (I'm always looking for another style since wig-wearing allows you to change things up when you want), but this one's my "go-to"!
thanks sweetie im menopausal my hair is thining really bad i thought id never wear a wig so glad to find you i have a round face too and i want a grey wig or black an grey mid to long length i love long hair though thanks so much for the info God bless 😊
Thank you for this video. I have been so frustrated over the past 2-3 yrs searching for a wig/topper. I have to return all of them. Now, I know WHY! My search will take on a different approach!!!
I love the crown padding trick; it’s great for flat heads and round faces. It made so many more of my wigs wearable. Flattering wigs: Belle Madame Leonora, Angelina, Tamara, Kate….the best blondes, too.
Christine, I'm loving your channel. So glad I found you! Can you possibly list the names and colors of the wigs you're wearing in your videos in the drop down bar. By the time I get to the end of the video sometimes I'm thinking, what color did she say that was?? Maybe that's just me 😆
I bought my 1st wig off eBay for $10 (it was on sale). Well, everyone tells me it looks great. But I have a round face & the wig is a heavy beachy wave. I need to thin it outs& I’m afraid to. It’s very long & grey. I’m 67. Previously my own hair was almost to my waist, so the length is perfect. Thank u for ur round face tutorial.
GREAT review, thanks. I am 70 and always wore very short hair. Since I have the round face and disappearing lower jaw area, I find your advice spot ON. BUT, I don’t think long hair looks good on old women, just saying. Or, for me, I never wanted it. I will focus on that height and softness at the cheek. Sparkle by Raquel Welch I have found to be excellent. Is there a wig channel for 70plus women? Really LOVE your style.
In real life, I don't wear long hair normally. I find it too hot and heavy and I'm a clutz so it always gets caught in my handbag😂 When I look for a wig, the first thing is height on top with soft waves that land above the offending turkey neck, so it sounds like we're on the same page regarding style.
I hope this year brings happiness and prosperity to all american and to the worldwide 🌍. I'm Michael Pollack by name from Key west, Florida...where are you from if i may ask?
Thank you. I have a rather round face, and my chin and jaw line is sagging. You explained why some of my wigs don't look as good on me as I had hoped they would. I usually wear short styles, especially in the summer, and I've found that the pixie cuts are flattering if the bangs aren't too straight and thick. I had decided that I needed to keep the sides close to my head and sometimes tuck them behind my ears to achieve that. What wigs from Rachel are good for a round face but also a first wig. I ask about Raquel Welch wigs because her lace fronts are so realistic! Look forward to your thoughts. ❤
I am 75 year old with thinning hair and I really am not sure which way to go it appears that I have around face and I'm looking at some of your ideas I have always worn longer hair ( mid upper arm to elbow length) I like to wear my hair in a ponytail or in a bun wit a higher crown.
Brilliant video. Very educational and very clear. Thank you so much. Also… I couldn’t help but notice your rings. They are fabulous! May I ask where you got them from?
This was a very helpful video! I once tried on a wig I really liked....only to discover I looked like Carnie Wilson (when she was quite heavy). Burned me from wigs ever since. But now, my hair is getting thin on top, so am actively looking for a decent wig that will be flattering on me. My face is kind of oblong with a narrow forehead AND with the added bonus 🙄 of a double chin, so extra heaviness on the bottom. I also have what I call a "Hank Hill head," it's squarish and flattish in the back, not rounded and pretty like some. I wore my hair very short for decades, and always fluffed up the top, but was never happy with how I looked, for the very reasons I mentioned. Now I have 3 years of "covid hair," and now simply always wear it pulled back in a ponytail, so something's gotta give! 😭
Very informative video with such helpful tips for a round face shape. Do you think a long wig such as you are wearing is suitable for someone in their 70s?.
Glory be!!! I felt like I was listening to someone describing *my* face. I was born with a round face so it's always been with me and will go with me to my grave. But the double chin is has become an unwelcome addition about 20 years ago. But yes, I do need the height, nothing ending at my jawline or chin, and I don't like too full sides, just makes me really look like my face is the shape of a pumpkin. 🎃 Also, those cute asymmetrical hairstyles are simply ravishing but not on me either. You nailed all the do's and don't's for me!!! Thank you!

@@christinemcgraw8710 To be honest, I do not have anything right now that hits all my buttons. I prefer a bit of length because it is slimming. I'm gradually refining exactly what I like, and I find that I prefer something that's still short but a little wavy and not too sleek. My current favorite is the Ellen Wille Raise.
I’ve not owned a wig for over 30 years and I have both a double chin and a round face. I’ve always worn long hair ending about the top of my breasts and that’s looked good for a long time. now I’m concerned that I’m too old for long hair. I’m 69 and my waist length hair is always worn up. I’ve never found short hair attractive on me but need to try a first wig again. Any suggestions?
What's the name & color of the wig your wearing? I have a round face which became rounder as I gained weight due to medical condition. I've always worn long straight hair , now I'm a senior lady I still feel more comfortable with longer than shoulder length hair, but not too long that the back gets tangled & in my way. I'm a natural brunette but always wore highlights making me more blonde. Now I let my hair grow our & am all gray. I'm thinking about doing the purplish baylage colors that are popular now but think I'll choose a blonder color that's lightly rooted..not dark roots but medium. What would you suggest? My cap size is average to average large...can't wear anything tight on my head!!
I am a round face/double chin girl. My go-to is Sky by Noriko because I can get the height on top & I like the flippy hair in back. I also have Raquel Welch Voltage and a Jon Renau Meg. Meg is 100% handtied so she needs piece out cream to get the height. I like spiky hair but not a fan of really short nape.
Sky was my first wig and I just loved her. She's what I'm wearing in my profile picture. As much as I still like her the Dark Rust color doesn't really appeal to me as much anymore.
I have a 22 1/4" head, and some of EW's wigs fit, and others are snug, snug, snug! I heard that this past year (2020), many of their newer styles have forgiving and necessary stretch, for American women's heads.
I recently got into wigs about 4 months ago and bought 20 top name wigs in different styles and put them on Styrofoam head and now all the curl dropped out of them! Why? What to do now?
I've had the same thing happen. If you keep a wig on a head, gravity eventually loosens the curls. Unfortunately, unless it's a head-friendly fiber, there's no way to get the curl back in. If it's heat-friendly, you can use a low-heat curling iron on it. I'd still play with the wigs though and see if you can work with them in their current style. Sometimes happy surprises happen.😀
Even though they weren’t heat friendly, I put hot curlers on my synthetic wigs and it worked like a charm. Look up on you tube. I’ve even used reg curlers and applied steam from a clothes handheld steamer. Both worked well. Never have damaged any of my wigs. Just remember that the curl needs to cool before you take the curler out in order for the curl to stay in the fiber of the wig. You can wash the wig and the curl will remain!
I've tried so many times to figure out what face shape I have and I'm still clueless.😕 I've been doing facial exercises to get rid of my double chin, but I think all I'm doing is giving it muscles.😫

I am scared to try! I just got my first wig in. Its still closed as delivered by ups and I dont want to open it! Its Ellen Willies Storyville. I have second guessed myself a million times. I know i need to ooen it and try it on, but my fear of disappointment and then being afraid to try again...I am nearly bald. I am going to be 63. Started losing hair at 23. Male pattern baldness. I look old. No hair really ages a woman. I just have to figure this out. My girl graduates college in May! A real uppity college. I just dont want to be the old fat bald mom of the poor girl. Meg is 100% handtied so she needs piece out cream to get the height. I like spiky hair but not a fan of really short nape.
I just got Sky in the mail, so I'll be trying it soon! I also like Noriko because it has such energetic permatease.😍
Sky was my first wig and I just loved her. She's what I'm wearing in my profile picture. As much as I still like her the Dark Rust color doesn't really appeal to me as much anymore.
I would love to try Ellen Wille, but I heard they run small. I have a 22.5 head...would it fit or be tight?
I have a 22 1/4" head, and some of EW's wigs fit, and others are snug, snug, snug! I heard that this past year (2020), many of their newer styles have forgiving and necessary stretch, for American women's heads.
I have been an artist all my life and I have to tell you I hate hair in my face. I hate having bags in my face when I specially am working with art!
Talk a little bit about adding height in the crown. I have toppers that I need to do this with.
Making wigs become mainstream....I love that!!

Hello Donna how are you doing today hope you're safe over there?
I hope this year brings happiness and prosperity to all american and to the worldwide 🌍. I'm Michael Pollack by name from Key west, Florida...where are you from if i may ask?

Bangs in my eyes--drives me bananas. Bangs in your eyes--same.

What would like to see? More specific wigs for round faces? Or something else? Thanks for responding with what you'd like to see.😍
ohhhh I loved this. I have a FB page I share ALL awesome video tips on for wig rebels :) I also share links to stores as I have no affiliation with anyone and I wish to eb able to be a place where people can actually find things in other stores than what's the norm. and also not be scammed. I will share this there
Thanks so much.
I can't get to a shop cause of my sick husband. I like that Noriko Dolce, but not sure of colors either. HELP
They can look sideways at us 4wearing wigs, n we don't have to give a crap, anyway. Like me. 👍 😁 i wear wigs to work. Alot. Why not? 🤗
Even opal shape faced face women will get saggy chin lines .
You know how to trim wigs so why didn't you trim the bangs on this one before you did the post? it was distracting to watch you.
My face is round , yours is heart shaped
Talk too much
I have a round face and my favourite wigs are Noriko's Kate and Jon Renau's Ignite. Thanks for your reviews!
