whenever i'm feeling sad or discouraged as a musician, i watch a Keegan-Michael Key interview. his passion and drive and advice and experience is so fucking good.
When I was a kid I would make stop frame claymation, skateboard videos and little action movies. From that artistic experimental stuff I learned two major things about acting. 1.the camera hates acting, meaning you have to actually be the person (in your mind) you play as in a movie or skit. 2.nothing beats teaming up with other creative people and building things together. you can be a stand alone force, but for good practice it helps to have at least one partner. in order to bounce concepts off and evolve ideas between two perspectives.
This is one of the best interviews I have ever seen. It feeds my soul as an actor.
this dude is a lot deeper than I'd imagined
