    Mr. Medium is from my hometown. I went to HS with his younger brother _(quiet dude, good at piano),_ and there's a field with his name on it a couple miles from my house. One of the few insta-lock RefGuesses I've ever had. He was a really good player people forget about, so thanks for the love, Jolly :-).

    Robin Ventura was the only example I can think of where a player peaked with the Mets that was not homegrown, who had his best season with us, AND their contributions led to team success. We made the playoffs and took the Braves to game 6. Also the rain delay highlight of him imitating Piazza is pure gold.

    Pretty shocked at the struggle on Robin Ventura. That 99 Mets team was crazzzzzy. I remember the Sports Illustrated cover with them "Best Infield Ever". Then again....its easy when you're a Mets fan

      He was legitimately a great player in Texas. Huge power and solid OBP due to a lot of walks, he ran well and was a great defender in the outfield, he earned those 2 gold gloves. Idk what made his bat fall off so hard or why teams are using him at first base now but I hope he finds it again because I loved watching him play back then

      @@Whitsoxrule1Hes gotten older and slower. I think that’s mainly why he has moved to 1st. And yea it’s shocking he fell off so hard. It was rough watching him on the Twins. He seems like an incredible guy though. Seems like a great dude to hang out with.

    I had Ventura in 2 seconds… but he’s from my hometown and I had his Hot Corner poster on my wall in the early/mid 90s, so I had a bit of an advantage.

    Santa Maria, California's own Robin Ventura. He was our hometown hero when I was growing up. Though I was honestly never really a fan of his.

    Easiest way to stump these guys is asking about Chicago baseball. 3rd largest city, 2 teams, 275 combined franchise seasons of MLB history. I guess that speaks to how mediocre Chicago baseball has been lol. If you don't know who Steve Stone is can't expect you to get Robin Ventura (even though he was manager of the White Sox in the 2010s).

    Oof, rough week for Max but the way I keep advocating for a 90s All-Stars round it's targeting his weakness. Glad to see BBD get Ventura to move back into third!

    Joey Gallo is such a joke. Look at those numbers. You DO NOT get to keep your job and make that money with that resume. What are we doing? He is one of the WORST baseball players to ever suit up. Literally. He has almost 3 times the amount of career strikeouts as he does hits. The dude isn’t a baseball player. That should never have been his occupation. It’s nearly impossible to articulate it’s so frustrating. I have more talent in my 41 year old body than he did in his teens and 20s
