Funny how, I grew up going through Grand Central pretty regularly, and it always seemed mundane. Some people might even see the congregations of tourists as a hindrance. But when you take a step back, slow down, and just think about things, it really is quite beautiful and special... especially compared to Penn Station which is what I use now...
+Me Auntie Nora It was really fun to watch all the different folks from all over the world, stop and much themselves into the corner. Totally one of those things that as a New Yorker you overlook / see as touristy until you do it and are like...this is kind of so great! And yes. Penn station might be whatever the opposite of a wonder is. An eyesore? A blunder?
You guys should do a video about the Naica Mine of Saucillo, Chihuahua, Mexico. It's somewhere between 120 and 300 meters underground and contains huge selenite crystals, many of which reach up to 15 meters long and 4 meters thick. It's definitely a wonder of the world.
+singedrac I love that place! I consider it one of the Seven Weird Wonders of the World! As are Blood Falls, Milky Seas, Skeleton Lake, Snake Island, Everlasting Lighting Storm, and Root Bridges! All of which I have done videos for but not the Naica Caves! Ok once my run of scary ones for October is done, Naica caves is 100% going up!
That was so cool! I was laughing so hard while you guys were both at your wall!!! That song was just perfect. Good stuff. Thank you for posting this. 😀
I would have loved to have seen some of the childlike wondrous reactions from people trying the corner! Amazing video as always. Keep up the good work :D
Was this feature an accident or planned? It didn't look like there was much signage about the place to encourage people to try it. Awesome video this is high on my list of favorite channels.
+Atlas Obscura You Assume right I'm in Texas. There are a lot of wonders here, such as the marfa lights en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marfa_lights & Congress Bridge Bats en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ann_W._Richards_Congress_Avenue_Bridge just to name a few.
Goshdangit, I wish I'd known about this when my dad and I went to New York City a couple of summers ago! We visited Grand Central but I had no idea about this or we could've tried it!
Why so little people know this channel ? It's amazing !
+Poudingue Thank you so much! Tell your friends, ha, and thank you for watching!
I know this channel because the last tree of ténéré video
Thank you guys for making this video. I show it to my Algebra 2 Honors students every year when we discuss ellipses and they love it! :)

Whispering gallery waves. Making people stand oddly in corners since 1878.

Not planned! Really just a happy accident of a vaulted architecture!
And thank you! That is wonderful to hear!
Amazing, Really enjoyed this video! Thank you
This place has been on my list to visit! Fantastic Video! Thanks For Sharing!
+lonestarrider Thanks for watching as always! I am I to assume you are in Texas? Don't think I have done any Texan wonders but I should!

This is so cooool
Damn it. If only I knew about this earlier, I would have done it too. Guess that will be another excuse to go back New York!
Don't forget the ORIGINAL "Whispering Gallery" : St. Paul's Cathedral in London. 1666!
1666 is when it burnt down. 1708 would be the year.
1:09 The Introduction
Great video!! This was amaazing!
love these vids.
+mdrunk thanks! Had a lot of fun making this one. Really excited to keep doing more on location 100 Wonders!
+Atlas Obscura can you get a "sponsor me" link up? may not make you rich, but might offset some costs.
+mdrunk Yes. Yes we can. Looking into setting that up!
Here in India.. Dozens of them..
500-600 years old architecture..
Mathematics in action! Thanks dude.
St. Louis' Union Station also has an arch that does this.
+James Guest Nice! I think there are more of these than people realize. Almost any curved stone surface can work well like this.
To be honest I missed your normal intro, but this was a cool vid. Thanks.
+CardiganJane That's ok! Trying new things, some of them wont work :) Thanks for watching anyway!
Great vid, hope you get more subcribers
Very cool! Well...you most likely didn't look too crazy as you walked and talked...being in NY. LOL
Connecticut ate Rhode Island!
Come on, we all know it had it coming.
Great video you got a new sub ;). btw I found your channel through an app called Curiosity.
Of course, you know you were in Grand Central Terminal. As Grand Central Station is the post office hub. But it's ok, everyone gets it wrong.
I did know, but in the heat of moment, station just sounds right ha
when your friend sing with guitar, if anyone else stick their ears in different edge of yours, could they hear ur friend play song too?
