Her being mad at them was realistic for her character, her assumed personality, and the situation. I know it feels like other things, but they got it right. She’s high intelligence, emotional but not matured in it, and vigilant. It’s out of her control and she reacts with anger instead of sadness. Being grateful in a situation like that is premature. It’s dire. She and they are in survival mode.
Woulda said it if you didn't. I really appreciate this channel, but I was slightly surprised they didn't catch that it's not a film flaw, but just a character irritation, and what several women I know would have done. Several men would have felt like that as well by the way. Oh, it pisses me off as well, but I get it. It's accurate.
@@flawvsawe Ahhhh now I have even another complaint. Don't get Tarantinoed about too much too often. That's fun, when somebody has the cover line, but damn that is a double-edged sword. Part of what I hated happening to Hollywood (and even independent films) is their love affair with what sells and what makes a good movie, and the ever changing gap between. Clever just is't appropriate at times, and the more you experience life (not just movies), the better off we'll all be in discussion... and if you make your own movie. So much "fun time" has been injected into film, the the fault of many, not the few or one, that I miss the films that immerse me most easily because they are believable. Those are in fact my favorite, by far. The others are the same as going to an amusement park that happens to have a buffet. Something in it for everyone; clever, gory, funny, romantic, exciting, beautiful people, sex, swearing, characters that are bad BUT not racist or bigots.... give me a break, that's how to dumb down the world and insult thinking people's intelligence. It makes me wonder if I'll ever be swept up by a movie ever again. I'm not saying everything has to be "Sophie's Choice" or a documentary, but for f--k's sake I wish they would stop trying to fill everything to the brim with "cool". It's just so fake. Even if the film I watch is a fantasy, based on the improbable or rather, the fantastic would be more appropriate LOL... the job should be make everything believable for the situation. She could have acted it better, showing she doesn't have the words, even more physical draining to sell that's all she has to whip up.... but it should not be clever. Not at that time.
The little touches of humanity like the Flea circus bit are such a great contrast to the unspeakable savagery ever-looming over them, as if to spite the cruel and unforgiving world they've found themselves ass deep in.
Some folks completely forget there's a genre called body horror. Films like The Thing, The Fly, Annihilation, The Taking of Deborah Logan, and Bone Tomahawk are what separates body horror from gore fests. It's literally designed to get under your skin and disturb you physically. It might be my favorite form of horror simply for how effective it is at unsettling me. Great review, dude!
It feels like everyone who needs to know about this movie, needs to also know about Kurts kid and his low budget acting gig in the movie Overlord, more like overlooked.
I was expecting something else with name Bone Tomahawk hehe. I'm not big on Westerns maybe favorite Clint Eastwood is High Plains Drifter or even The Beguiled. Brisco County Junior was alright as it had Bruce Campbell. I'd like to see review Tombstone or Young Guns or Wyatt Earp with Costner. I'm not sure I've seen this. Jonah Hex is kinda cool for like a melding. Sorta funny how she calls them idiots which is true. I would have just moved on as probably would get typhoid or some kinda infection that can't cure. There some funny flaws. I"m glad an Organic Vegetarian its like in TWD when were processing them to be food. Better than the Lone Ranger version of Tonto in that movie ;). Women wouldn't fight in that culture ;).
A stellar cast, great plot, excellent scenography,,a Western....but this One with a very Terrifying twist. This movie caught me completely of guard, and I'am very happy for that because "Bone Tomahawk" it's not an excellent movie but an excellent horror movie. To my knowledge is probably the 1st Horror Western I'am not sure but one thing is for certain, what a Treat of a movie with those 3 or 4 scenes that you think to yourself " WTF .... Jesus Christ what on earth those Evil troglodites are doing....man,this is Heavy stuff". This movie was the Best surprise for the last 10 years, solid.
"Say goodbye to my wife & I'll say hello to yours."
Goddamn, that line wrecked me.
😢 hurt different

Her being mad is fine, it's the sloppy insult in place of something more clever that got me sour.

First rate review of an under appreciated film!
Amazing modern western. Love it
Whoever hasn’t seen this definitely needs to check this out. It’s quite a good movie. Watch it at night with all the lights off haha.
Agreed! I recommend it to all my movie fan friends.
The little touches of humanity like the Flea circus bit are such a great contrast to the unspeakable savagery ever-looming over them, as if to spite the cruel and unforgiving world they've found themselves ass deep in.
I remember checking the first 5 mins at 3 at night... Obviously I couldn't stop and ended up watching it whole.
Truly a masterpiece.
Excellent Movie!
Great video Ronny!
great movie and great review
2:45 - i disagree, it's better with the slow reveal of Chicory having seen it

Just watched this yesterday and I didn’t realize that was Richard Jenkins till now.
Right, he's a fantastic character actor!
The scene where she calls them idiots is hilarious

I think having no credits in the opening isnt always a flaw like apocalypse now didnt have credits and it did well, even without ending credits
She's doesn't know any of that though, does she? She doesn't have a copy of the script.
I love this movie, but others who have seen it absolutely will not watch it again. Too disturbing for them.
Up there with no country for old men
Mine also...grand movie
title card!
I need to sit down and watch this movie. I always say I'm going to but something comes up.
Awesome job!
It is intense. The troglodites are scary.
This movie sucked ass 😂
Agreed. Nothing happened until the last third of it
