Hi Dr. V. My moisture barrier got damaged a few weeks ago, so I decided to stop using all my acne products and just stick with the basics. I've only been using snail mucin, Cerave moisturising cream and vaseline on top at night. Since doing this, I haven't had a single acne spot, which is very surprising. Why do you think this is? Is this down to the simplicity of the routine or is slugging really that effective?
This is because your skin barrier was damaged. Once it recovers and back to being healthy/ oily you may need acne products. Ensure you use gentle acne products like Trio Blemish www.skincarebydrv.com

I do like the Trio Blemish..but i will say the bottles are too small( mainly the moisturizers & exfoliator(30ml/1.1fl.oz) they are basically travel size. & if you put it up to the light you realize that the bottle is not full, which i thought was weird giving that they are already small. i would love for them to up the size.

thanks for your content! You’re my go-to channel! Two questions: can you wear a leave on Salicylic acid product/exfoliator if you used a Salicylic acid wash on producy? Also, should you adjust the skin care routine (actives, serums, moisturizers) while the skin is purging?
The doctor's advice would be final, obviously. But, I have extremely oily skin and I still use 2% SA face wash and then 2% SA leave on serum and I still wake up with a face so oily it could soak a paper towel. So, I guess it depends on your skin type but for me, it's not caused any harm. It's helped in slowly reducing acne. Obviously, you shouldn't use the SA leave on serum every day. I use it for 3-5 days till my acne settles down. Then I go back to niacinamide or Alpha Arbutin for the residual pigmentation.
@@latitamontoya so, I typically use it at night but when the pimples are stubborn and I need quick riddance, I've used it in the morning too. It has helped me mostly but I use SA sparingly and not regularly. So, you should be fine using it any time of the day, but it makes skin more susceptible to sun damage, so apply your sunscreen frequently during day time, I'd say.

I am using Bodyshop aloe toner that you suggested along with facetheory 10% niacinamide AM, facetheory 15% azelaic acid PM, topped with CeraVe moisturing cream. I also use CeraVe foaming cleanser AM and PM. Does that sound good or should I change my routine? I do feel stretched dry skin in the mornings unsure if it’s the azelaic acid. Please suggest.

Please launch a tinted oil free version of ur sunscreen
When I wash my face it looks very bright and healthy, but, as soon as I apply moisturizer it looks dull, dusty and bad.
Why is that?
Fyi - i use minimalist moisturizer cream (sepicalm 3%)

Is mandelic acid just as good as salicylic acid for dry ance prone skin? As far as a leave on exfoliate my skin doesn't really like salicylic acid.
It's different, mandellic resurfaces skin. Pha might be better for you x
