What’s insane and infuriating about this poor girl’s music career, is that when she started out, she was incredible. Her voice was really good l, had huge range, and she was Broadway bound. But somewhere along the line, you could tell there was a distinct and dramatic change in the way she sang, and in her technique. You could tell the studios got her some Coach to try to make her sound like Britney and they just ruined her technique.

If you want to hear someone hit the correct notes listen to Whitney Houston or Celine Dion or Mariah Carrey...they are great vocalists. They dont resort to screaming or adding notes into the song when they don't belong to sound like they know what they are doing. So her manager was Tommy Mottola. He tried to make every artist into Mariah. Mariah is the best along with Whitney. However, Jessica has talent too. He just needed to let her be Jessica Simpson. Its an emotional song Jessica definitely put emotions through the song, the feelings through, just go watch her Do you know live performance it's a track from the same country album from 2008-2009 and see how she destroys the 5th octave by just phrase belting some C5, D5, E5 up to F5 , and her angels live performance from Utah where she belt it up to A5, it got deleted from ytube it's in the same year of 2009. I believe she was compared to Britney, not so much in the sense of vocals but rather them as pop female acts their image how they were both blondes. Initially Jessica’s record label had her release her first single as a ballad to separate her from Britney and Christina. While she initially did great...Britney and Christina always stayed one step ahead. So by Jessica’s 2nd album Irresistible, her label decided to bring more sex appeal to her image music and performances to level up to Britney and Christina but it seemed like it had potential but never really happened. Much love and respect for all 3 women regardless! They were all amazing!!
They say she has a bad technique but for me she is a great singer of her time, and props to her not lip sycning. I never encountered any videos of her lipping, I would rather listen to a performance like this than a lipped one.
I look at it as pure passion and flaunting talent that not everyone is blessed with. I find it admirable and am in awe of her pipes. I don't even have a quarter of her range, but then again I spent years rapping, but always would love to have made so many more tracks of me just singing. Don't see any disappointed fans in the crowd, and it sure beats watching people lip sync.

If you want to hear someone hit the correct notes listen to Whitney Houston or Celine Dion or Mariah Carrey...they are great vocalists. They dont resort to screaming or adding notes into the song when they don't belong to sound like they know what they are doing.

That's why she adds rasp and distortion to her vocals but she can belt it with ease, and the breathy cooing she does is what her stupid record label want, to emulate britney, and for the record she doesn't have a bad technique , I can hear mixed belts and The "Edge" overdrive " technique to her voice, only the best vocalist with great stamina, strength and power can pulled that off cause without those elements y'all be sounding like being choked, cracked and strangled ,and her remember that performance that many people criticize her vocals? I believe she was compared to Britney, not so much in the sense of vocals but rather them as pop female acts their image how they were both blondes. Initially Jessica’s record label had her release her first single as a ballad to separate her from Britney and Christina. While she initially did great...Britney and Christina always stayed one step ahead. So by Jessica’s 2nd album Irresistible, her label decided to bring more sex appeal to her image music and performances to level up to Britney and Christina but it seemed like it had potential but never really happened. Much love and respect for all 3 women regardless! They were all amazing!!

I look at it as pure passion and flaunting talent that not everyone is blessed with. I find it admirable and am in awe of her pipes. I don't even have a quarter of her range, but then again I spent years rapping, but always would love to have made so many more tracks of me just singing. Don't see any disappointed fans in the crowd, and it sure beats watching people lip sync.
