I have watched monkey channels for years and have learned the normal behavior of both long tail macaques and short tail. This female is not showing normal behavior with her baby. I see stress and just all out abuse. This baby isn’t trying to get milk it’s just trying to get away from her. For a fact these VO’s have switched babies on 2 of the females so the babies do not know which is its mother and so they get treated like an outsider which means they get beat. Also when she assaults.the baby she looks to the cameramen for guidance!!! She was a pet when she was a baby and will do what humans tell her to do. Anytime a mother monkey abuses her baby the other mothers will try to stop her by showing they will babysit the baby for a while so the mom can have a break. The only monkey you see doing that is the young one she grooms and when she’s done she grabs- not gently the baby. And the baby tries to get away. This says that she is a kidnapper as far as the baby knows or it is always being beaten. Monkey moms do not beat their babies except when weaning and then they follow that with grooming to show they are not mad. So don’t think that this is acceptable to other monkeys and the VO’s have had some underhanded involvement in this. This troop is personally put together by them from former pet monkeys that have been dumped.

This is her second baby. I believe Libby was raised by humans as a pet so she never experienced being raised by a monkey mom so she has no clue what she’s doing. She didn’t seem to treat Rainbow, her first kid, as rough.

Theres more to this. They constantly screw with Libby and Rainbow. Neither one would leave Leo like that by himself. He cried out for her for awhile before she charged right to him. They seperate them all the time, and i believe they trigger the discipline too
When vos are around Libby they make her nervous because she remembers what they did to her and Rainbow and Brady. Shes training her baby but of course Leo wants to cling because the vos have abused him since Libby had him. The vos can say one word and Libby freaks out thats not her fault she's a wild animal she should have never been in someone's home as a pet then dumped because she got to big. Leos eyes were like that because of the vos abusing him. Libby has the right to train her offspring. She also weans her offspring when they are supposed to be weaned as well. Leo wants to nurse and cling under Libby and shes telling him no so jes throwing a fit they are wild animals not humans..

Plus if they are attacked they don't need to be the fastest in order to get away, just faster than at least one other troop member... which they will happily leave behind to save themselves, even if it's their own baby.
