man it's been ages since I've seen this documentary for me I started in 1993 reading comics Batman and Thor were everything to me, but image comics was king glad I found this documentary finally one where Kevin Smith isn't in it.
I really want to thank you with that documentation, it's the impact that starts me again to draw since 18 years I never put a pencil in my hand anymore.
Unfortunately I don't remember the first time I went to a Comic convention. But I will never forget the time when I went to the convention in New York.
You got it backwards. Image defined the 90s. Marvel and DC were DESPERATELY trying to copy them the entire time and almost went bankrupt in the process.
I just discovered your channel yesterday. I'm absolutely loving these doc's! I'm a life long Comic book fan, and also an illustrator. Thank you so much for your channel! It brings real JOY to see these. 🖖😁🤘🇨🇦❤️
a Great video, with Fun and a Lot of practical Information! ............. May I suggest, the music needs to be half the volume. It over rides the Content, and makes it difficult to hear! Cheers, Brad H
Stan is a class act, "I was told to make the stories simple, I had great artists bringing my stories to life, I creates these four heroes...." where's all the "Jack Kirby drew out the story and I just filled in what I could for dialouge" or "jack kirby created these characters I just gave them names" 🤦 I wish Jack could have been around as long as Stan to receive the credit he was owed
Yep. Stan had a big mouth, an ego even bigger, and he needed all that attention. Egocentric guy. Jack died too soon. Stan still had all those years of glory without Jack telling him "Wait a second"...
Any documentary that fails to mention the major contribution Jack Kirby made to the evolution and popularity of American Comics is not worth watching. He was the King for a good reason and yet you give undeserved credit to Stan Lee.
In France they have "Bandes dessinées" (french comic books). I´am an artist for many publishers in France. French comic books are part of the french culture. They´re millions os french comic books sold every year in France.
He mentioned it in his book, his biography, numerous documentaries, interviews, public presentations, meet and greets… maybe he didn’t go into detail here, and maybe he did and it got edited out, but I think the whole “Stan Lee didn’t give credit to Ditko” is over blown. Ditko was also notorious difficult to work with.
@@robertdelisi9473couldn’t be further from the truth. The credits for artists implied they were there to merely illustrate from fully detailed script. However, people don’t know what would become the Marvel method involved the artist to plot everything out from a 1-2 page blurb by Lee. Kirby and Ditko did a lot of the hard work by designing every character and setting, adding plot elements to make the story flow, and pacing everything together so that it ran smoothly.
My bro (sticking his tongue out) and I standing behind... I know this is simply "found footage" b-roll to tell your story, so trying to determine the actual event and year. Either WizardCon or SDCC. We think Wizard in Los Angeles. ruclips.net/user/clipUgkxtAoCnFQKJ9OuZ3_dXQx7oskk1548epU0?si=haSF7xX6xgOcxPn9
Great documentary! Definitely gave me some inspiration! Thank you to all artist, writers and creators in this documentary!
when did this come out?
@@bryansteele832 I think 2015

You make me feel old. I started reading when Claremont/Byrne were on the X-men and Miller/Janson were on their Daredevil run.
I quit reading comics with Claremont/Burner and Frank Miller Daredevil.
How old is this documentary?
I´m feeling old... I started reading comics when I was 5 years old, in 1978. I´m 51 now.
@@wolfgangkrauser9735 I think it's late 2000's

Mark Waid saying "Who am I to judge" is priceless hypocrisy.

Batman, Spiderman and X-Men defined the 90s
but for me Image comics was everything❤❤❤
They don't sell for much.

Beautiful doc
Thanks Vic. We are bringing it out again.
Wonderful!
Wish I wasn't the only person in my family who liked this stuff. 😞
Yeah, yeah! Everybody knows that magazine art is the best.
There's various types of comics in Europe, South America, Japan, and Mexico
Great vid
Very nice, very entertaining! Enjoyed this a lot - thank you for sharing.
Boy, the music is so loud on this that I cannot hear a single word anyone is saying.
It is very distracting

Nice 👍
The first Dr Strange movie was the beste movie in the MCU since a while. Don't know what this dude is on about...
The interview was way before the release of the film. Thanks for watching!!

There's something so American about comic books. I wish other countries would have them too.

When I think comic con I expect comics costumes are cool dont get me wrong but u care more for the comics
This was delightful. You can see that this was made before the wokeness era.
You're just interviewing Alex Ross Batman...

Real classy Stan... Did you forget to mention Steve Ditko designed Spiderman for you and did all the art in that time?

Hey everyone! We got a Stan Lee hater here! 😂
All of Stan's artists deigned his characters, that's what they were paid to do.
@@robertdelisi9473 I do not hate him and love his work. But appearently you know very little. Ignorance is bliss I guess.
