- Penny sets Raj up with one of her friends, and Raj finds he is comfortable talking to her because she is deaf. They soon find out that Raj is showering Emily with gifts and start to get concerned that Emily is a gold-digger. Penny feels she has to take whatever measure necessary to get him out of it, which Raj may or may not appreciate or fully understand.
This could be the last time Howard's previous personality of being a wannabe womanizing sleazebag is shown, as it has only been mentioned or referenced in later episodes.

I've watched every episode at least three times and this to me, just my opinion is the worst of all of the episodes, at the end when Raj let her know he wasn't going to have money, her reaction let you know the character was a gold digger.

During college, I worked in an auto repair center and there was a deaf mechanic who worked right across from me. One day, his wife suddenly showed up and started fighting with him in sign language. It was the craziest thing that I ever saw.

Mate growing up in a big house with servants isn't rich in the subcontinent. I grew up in a big house with servants and my dad was middle class at best. His annual income was aroiund $30,000 a year. Which isn't rich (as in son living abroad on parents money rich)

Well, my guess is that he understood exactly what she said but preferred to not translate it...
ASL has changes and updates like any other language and there are different signs that can mean the same thing. There is a chance that someone who doesn't use the language all the time would get confused for a moment on what a a different sign meant.

Howard transformed throughout the show, I like his acting when Penny entered the apartment with 3 of her hot friends as the guys were playing video games with Howard yelling, "MED PACK! I need a Med Pack!" Penny finishing with Told ya.
They all transformed and became much more "normal" as time went by. When it first started, TBBT was genuinely nerd, some jokes required some knowledge of science to be understood. By the end, it was a run-of-the-mill sitcom about relationships and stuff.

They initially presented Amy as a "Sheldon-like-human" just to throw that to the trash and make her "normal" out of her libido. Seriously? Because a a woman wants to have sex...she suddenly stops being autistic or whatever into a normal person?

She (Katie Leclerc) plays a lot of deaf roles in a lot of series. For example she plays a main role in "Switched at Birth" where she's also deaf. This is due to her family being hard of hearing so she learned sign language from a young age on. She also suffered too, like her family did, from a genetic disease and encountered loss of hearing.
