The Quidditch commentator's name is Lee Jordan btw and he's mentioned quite a bit in the books being the best friend of the Weasley twins. He's the official narrator of Quidditch matches for his whole time at Hogwarts and even does a radio show at one point. If this took place in 2023 you know that boy would have a RUclips channel lol.
The actor also does a voice in Hogwarts Legacy (the character's name is Everett Clopton; he's the character that serves as the tutorial stage guy for learning to fly on a broom).
Harry Potter is my comfort re read. When I'm sick, sad, bored or just in need of familiarity I pick up a HP book. They're so entertaining and comforting. When each of my kids turned 11 they got their own hardback set to read. I loved reading along with them.
The Potter Family have a long history of inventing spells, charms, magical objects and medical potions that people use on a regular basis. Harry being the only surviving member of his family inherited everything. He is the owner of all of those patents. That’s why he’s super rich. The money magically appears in his vault.
They destroyed Drako as a character in the movies he became to nice. He is a real bully in the books, because he is supposed to be. I love Tom as an actor but because of his looks he became the opposite of what the character was supposed to be. And then don't get me started on Ron I'm sorry but with the movies be so much more popular no one really knows Ron. Ron in the books is a great character. They butchered his character and made him comic relief and gave a lot of his best moments to other characters specifically Hermione. It irks me so bad because I didn't really understand it as a kid why I always really wanted a friend like Ron when I read the books and just thought movie Ron was an idiot. If there is any actual reason to remake the HP movies it's to fix movie Ron. It is similar with the LOTR movie adaptations. They butchered many characters and the result is people disliking those characters. :(
I'm so happy to see you guys react to HP you guys are going on a great journey, and you guys are going to have to to the Pottermore house quiz 😄 I hope one or all of you get Slytherin bc that's my house 😊

I love how y’all do the little quote pieces. I loved it in the HG reaction videos, always gave me chills. Glad to see you’re carrying it into HP!!!
I remember my 5th grade reading teacher, Mrs. Billingsly, reading this book to us for the first time; that was in 1998/99 & I’ve been a HP fan ever since. Great series!
The way you're about to meet a whole ass fandom! Im stoked. Since I'll never get to experience watching HP for the first time, I love to watch others lol
Lol Pat doing Hagrid’s flappy wave goodbye at the end. This was the first time I noticed how weird of a wave it was and then you started doing it too 😂
Lee Jordan is one of my absolute favorite characters in the books. I wish they could've captured all of the "colorful" dialogue and commentary during quidditch matches, he's one of the funniest characters in the entire series IMO.
Agreed. These movies are very well cast. You mentioned Snape, who was played by the late, great Alan Rickman. You may have also seen him as Hans Gruber in Die Hard.
I am SOO EXCITED for you guys to start this journey!! 😭 It lives up! Truuuuust! I love watching people go through this lol especially when theres the misconception of it being a kidish or something

the hat was speaking directly to harry in his head and when it takes over 5 minutes to place someone its known as a 'hat stall' OVER 5 MINUTES some like draco it barely touches them and it screams the house XD
You're going to hear similarities with Star wars because the score was made by John Williams, who also made the score for Star wars. He composed the music for the first 3 movies. Then the composer changed after that. But the iconic theme is his.
Thank you guys so much for this reaction! Started watching y’all on HIMYM but so happy y’all are covering my favorite movie series of all time! I can’t wait to see what y’all think of the rest!
4:40 Percy Jackson was one of the first series I read! I was around 10 or 11 and before that my mom would read us the Harry Potter books before bed, she loved them so a chunk of the time she kept reading it not noticing we were asleep lol, but I wasn’t really understanding it back then so I decided to read them myself around 14. Percy Jackson, Harry Potter and The keys to the kingdom were my obsession for my childhood
I was a huge Percy Jackson fannn, back in middle school it’s like you’re either a Percy Jackson fan or a Harry Potter fan. It got intense in my school 😂
McGonnagal is an athlete herself (if you looked closely at where Hermione showed Harry his dads medal for seeker, you'll see to its left a medal for "M. McGonnagal") so seeing how naturally fast he was on the broom let Prof McGonnagal know he'd be good for the team this year lol
Ngl i actually watched all the harry potter films last week with my frens 1 movie everyday ending 4am. Cuz i had only seen the first 4. Made me appreciate the series more. So now im basically rewatching it agin now lol
The name of the actor who plays Snape is Alan Rickman. RIP, I believe it was last year or so that he passed away. He was an iconic actor, played the villain in Die Hard too. 👌 Such an amazing actor, that man. Fun fact, he wasn't quite invested in the movies after filming the first one and was considering leaving the franchise. Jk Rowling managed to convince him to stay by secretly telling him part of the story's future, but swearing him to silence. Hahahah
30:54 Harry and Luke have identical stories. Let's see little orphan raised by their aunt and uncle in solitude, away from our main villain dressed in black and the embodiment of evil, suddenly gets taken under the wing of a great and powerful wizard, Learns that he's been destined to have powerful gifts and has a prophecy that foretells their fate. Their story is the same, also John Williams scored both
Fun fact, everywhere else in the world, it was released under the name "Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone". But someone in production thought the US public wasn't intelligent enough to understand the implications of the name, because the Philosopher's Stone has a very real history in human culture. "philosopher's stone, in Western alchemy, an unknown substance, also called “the tincture” or “the powder,” sought by alchemists for its supposed ability to transform base metals into precious ones, especially gold and silver. Alchemists also believed that an elixir of life could be derived from it." Thus, they changed the name for USA audiences only, which actually ended up just confusing people because now the book and the movies technically have 2 different names across various media. Lol
Unless you started early or late, and depending on where your birthday lands before or after the starting period, in 6th grade you’re either 10-11 years old. 12-13 in 7th. 13-14 in 8th. Usually, you start Kindergarten at 5 and start high-school at 14-15.
