Definitely has a tach available. If you hold the right toggle on the steering buttons, you can select between two different displays, the standard has an analog speedometer, the 2nd display includes an analog tachometer. Helped my wife’s mom get an avenair trim. She loves it!
Yeah but it’s pencil thin and the color choices don’t help make it easy to read. They made it “refined” compared to the trax version but at the expense of easy visibility.
At around 7:30 min, while using manual shift, you're saying that you cannot see engine RPM... That's not true... You can use the right steering wheel control to change the cluster configuration and the gauge faces of the Envista. Gauge 2 will show the tachometer on the cluster !! 🙂
This is actually a good looking crossover. Now that I don't have a group of people /kids in my car everyday, this looks very attractive, especially for the price. And the top option still having a base price under 30k is crazy. Definitely adding this to the one of the top spots on my list for test driving when I start looking for a car later this year!
Was on my list but ended up going for the Mazda CX-30 Carbon Edition (Vs Avenir Trim). Standard AWD and an engine that is far less likely to have issues were hard to pass up for near the same price.
You made the correct choice. I may be biased (2021 Mazda 3 turbo hatch is my daily) but I don't think I'm wrong in saying your CX-30 is going to give you many more trouble free miles than this Buick ever will. These things may look stylish on the outside, but I'm betting everything under the skin is built to a price point, those legacy GM worker pensions arent cheap.😉
GM ranks 2nd worse only to Jeep for crap junk -- we had one and it was a hot mess. Mazda is 5000% better. Oh, and a 3-cylinder engine is trouble down the road.
@@Steve_in_NJ The 3cyl engine isnt an issue for me, many Euro makes have that option and Toyota makes a really stout 3cyl for their GR Yaris/GR Corolla. But yeah, a GM designed 3cyl engine needs to be proven over at least a decade before I'd even think about it.
Why didn't you mention the lack of rear AC vents? 🤔 That's one of the most important things, especially for families during the summer. And if it's being marketed as a "Luxury" vehicle, then Buick should've included it.
All these people talking smack about the envista is hilarious. I bought one 2 months ago (white and black ST) OVER the Trax and the amount of comments I get on it and heads turned to try and figure out what kind of vehicle it is is worth the price alone. You get loads of features for an unbeatable price. I spent hours looking at hundreds of other vehicles and any of the ones I considered were $40k or more and there were no features on any vehicle worth spending an additional 10k or more
Absolutely love my black trax activ. Plasti dipped the front and rear Chevy bowtie, to get rid of the Chrome around the outer edge. Did the same to chrome Trax, activ badges on the rear lift gate. Looks bad... I love it!
A power liftgate is definitely nice to have, but I'd rather have all of the safety tech and skip that to hit a good price target, which is what this car is all about
Looks pretty good for what it is and the starting price seems about right. The big question is how will these things hold up in the long run? With 4 people and luggage onboard will the transmission self destruct driving up steep inclines in Colorado, Utah and other mountainous places? Let's revisit these things in 5 years or so, until then I'm afraid it goes into my "disposable automotive junk" category, and same goes for any EV that's affordable to the masses...and even some that arent. No, I'm not cynical about everything in the world, but I do take my personal transport seriously and have higher standards than many people.
i LOOKED AT THIS CAR, Yes, the low price tag might be perfect for some people. But, if you look at the high end at $32,000, it still looks , cheap and full of plastic, It was not hard for me to buy later that day a new 2024 Tuscan, Rides so much nicer, and tons of more options, including a panoramic roof, and tons of safety features, and more leg room, and its still a compact , and it comes with oil changes for 4 years. SUV
I’ve seen those commercials “This isn’t your Grandma’s Buick.” They are so right. The old Buicks could cruise for hours at 80 MPH, and be loafing. I suspect the peanut motor in this “Buick” would self-destruct trying to keep up with Grandma’s Buick.
Looks pretty decent but that 1.2 liter engine... I hope I'm wrong but I have a feeling by the time that has 100,000km that poor thing is going to be clapped right out.
Yes, but us "older" baby boomer drivers depend on them. Collision Alert saved me a few times when some dumbass cut in front of me on a slow-moving road.
Are you joking? Please go back on those great antipsychotics we talked about when you were in the psychiatric ward last month. Give our office a call. If we don't answer, this iis because we are all driving around in our new Envistas.
That's kinda the point, and why cars come in various sizes.😉 Having said that I do give this thing kudos for having decent rear leg and headroom for it's size.
New driver or not, backing up out of a parking space with vehicles on both sides is going to be more like "crossing your fingers" because of that huge blind spot in the rear quarters. Nope!
@@rreichar1 LOL! Looks like we found the FANBOI. Dude. OP is correct. Its completely unprofessional to do a video with salt splatter. Go take a pill bro.

Great review -- confirms my feelings that our family will NEVER buy another GM product EVER again! Junk cars -- Japanese and Korean vehicles are top-rated for a reason!!!!!!!!!!!!! We have a Toyota Camry and a Hyundai Kona in our garage and would get another one of each in a heartbeat. In fact, our next lease is done this fall and the next one will be either a Toyota Hybrid, or a Kona EV!
That is fugly. I have driven Buicks for decades. You could not give me that car. Buick was know for its classic elegance now got that mad max industrial grill. leatherette???? How tacky can you get.

Good to know. I always check my tach when I'm driving.
Wash salt splatter before you review.
Finally, a car review that makes me want to trade in my imaginary sports car for some real-world luxury and comfort

The Trax is objectively the better buy but I'll admit, this is a good looking car.
There is a tachometer but in a different display. That's the one I use.
Love this car 🚗
The envista does have a tach . There two driver info screen choices and one of them includes a tach

Tucson is junk, not even close lol. And I don’t own a Buick but have owned a Tucson before
0:30 “Enveesta”?
Right? And later, at a few more spots. Short vowel “i” sound, not long. En-vi-sta
You know what is a great car to take to college? An old Lesabre. Can’t hurt that and they’re cheap now.
I want a Buick now
It needs a rear window wiper to keep the sloping window clean in inclement weather.
it’s not AWD? How is it in the snow? My equinox RS is horrible in the snow. You have a beautiful crossover
The 2024 Trax is the better buy for an budget minded consumer, but this Envista is a nice whip..........

That Honda hrv is quite literally the exact opposite of attractive. There's no way you said that it was with a straight face.

Watts linkage? It has a solid rear axle?? And a lawnmower engine? Good Lord.

I love so much about this car-- but that engine is a deal-breaker. 137hp feels too sluggish these days.
Salt spattered car..... 😮
I was hoping the back seats laid down
They do lay down-almost flat.
would rather have pwr liftgate on fob
You can open it with the fob.
Why don't you clean that Buick before you show it?!

There's no Tachometer at all?
It has one. Read the top post.
Does the engine have a loud groaning sound?
Hopefully it doesn't. Buick has always been known for being extremely quiet.
I have one and no, it just makes a ticking noise from what I’ve noticed.
We just got one, and no, it doesn’t drone. I actually like the way it sounds under acceleration.

side mirrors???
137hp lol
The Nissan Rouge has a 1.5 liter 3 cylinder with 201hp lol 😅

GM product. Lease it, don't own it.
It's called En Vista, not En Veesta ... LMAO
