@Codystankey Nope! Pokemon Crystal is a clear GBC title. Clear GBC carts will work on previous models of the GB including SGB and SGB2, but you'll get as far as a message that tells you the game will only work on GBC. However, Game Boy Player add-on for the GameCube will play even clear GBC titles on the TV.

It's so fascinating seeing this game with a more limited color pallet similar to the original Gameboy Pokemon games.
Gold and Silver (but not Crystal) are OG Gameboy compatible too, so you can play them wholly in monochrome if you want.
