Good to see some people still practicing BJJ as a fighting art instead of just a sport!!! Gracie Jiu Jitsu and Machado Jiu Jitsu still teach the self-defense aspects but many academies don't unfortunately. I'd hate to be a black belt that doesn't know the combative side of it. Probably feel pretty stupid if you practice martial arts like BJJ for 15 years and get a black belt but get you clock cleaned in a self-defense situation.
