It's generally believed that it's impossible to win a chess game without your opponent making a mistake, but that doesn't mean even top GMs, or even computers, have to be able to figure out what the mistake is.

Modern Capablanca stuff right there. Brilliant game from both sides. Chess is like art, but it takes two to paint the painting. Congratulations to both Hikaru and Sam for creating this masterpiece of a game.
Exactly, it's insane to think about how Sam Sevian would absolutely wipe the floor with most chess masters in the world, but Hikaru makes it look like child's play against them.

Yeah he won't show it because the title is clickbait, Hikaru had two inaccuracies with a 94% accuracy.
1 great move, 32 best moves, 8 excellent, 3 good, 6 book, 2 inaccuracies
Sam Sevian had an 88%:

Don't get me wrong, Hikaru played an absolutely outstanding game, but the clickbait titles get old, especially when gotham doesn't back up a claim like ”a perfect game with no mistakes, inaccuracies, or blunders" with some sort of engine result validating it.

@@Antondmt1 went to depth 30 just now, still considers them inaccuracies, though I will say it liked one of the inaccuracies a lot more at the deeper depth, but it liked one of them less at the deeper depth (which regardless of being an inaccuracy, didn't lose much on the eval bar)
My complaint is more about why Gotham pulls this crap and less about the game itself. If you are going to make a claim like this, pull up an analysis board and explain why its a perfect game

i just love how different levy's analysis and hikaru's analysis are of the same game.
Like levy would say "This move is a slight in accuracy maybe hikaru didnt like the other move."

That's disingenuous, Hikaru consistently explains his logic and why he makes a move. He was quick to admit when he was wrong/not perfect during his post game interviews this week.
During his analysis of games 1 and 2 he broke his reasoning down pretty explicitly too.
Although Levi said if he lived 3 lifes he wouldn't be able to have the same knowledge of chess like these grandmasters...
Similarly, if they also lived 3 lifes they wouldn't be able to have the same energy and the quality of content and commentary that you have..

Ever since the botez gambit Speedrun, Himatu has been a beast. I always wondered if those games did something to shake up his thought process, because it really seems he changed after that. It could be coincidence, but it felt like I watch a training arch. It was extremely difficult and I can't help believing he leveled up IRL.
