Why was I in my 30s before I realized yes I can afford the steak? My upbringing had me conditioned to always order the burger because it was the cheapest on the menu 😂

There’s a big need to ACCEPT why the way you are to be authentic and own those parts of yourself, it takes practice for sure but the more you can accept yourself for who you truly are and why you are the way you are … the more authentic and attractive you become because it lights others hearts on fire 🔥
OoOo Erin! When I tell you, I've been feeling the same because I don't have a "rags to riches" background or I haven't been through some of the same things as my peers! I was raised in the similar fashion as you, had great parents, went to a great college and had a great experience with it so I tend to feel like the ones that have more of a background of triumph story to tell is more important than my own. I LOVE the point about not feeling like you have a story worth telling because it's not a "rags to riches" story, and I believe any story that is TRUE is a story worth telling. Whatever is true about you is what makes you authentic, so as long as you stand for something, you have something to share through the lens that is your real life.

Finding your own groove and focus on what brings you happiness. Personally I try my best to come as I am and not who I want ppl to like. I like me and my hope is other ppl appreciate me for all of me flaws and all!

I thought about just turning the camera on, and doing a part one and part two of the whole process. But then, I look around my room and the aesthetics and other things, and changed my mind. This was a very impactful video. I like when you say "Don't focus on making your content pretty...." cause right now, my youtube "set" is definitely not pretty, and this has made me realize that I think I'm trying to be something I am not on camera. I think I need to start focusing on being more authentic first, opposed to my subscriber count.
Love the part about having 'no story' cause I battle with that cause I feel stories like that help people connect with creator more and I feel like I don't have any😖

When I see those videos where everybody’s house is immaculate and quiet, I’m like how Sway?!?! They must not have children or a husband because I be struggling. I’ve come to the realization I’mma just have to show up how I show up because if I wait for my house to be pristine or my children to be quiet, there’s no way I’ll be consistent with these videos. These videos are always right on time. Like you really be in my head.

Such a great message! This came at the right time - I needed confirmation that it was ok to put out what I’ve been putting out as my authentic self.
I’ve stopped thinking I have to look extremely “palatable” and everything has to look aesthetic.
Now I have not sacrificed my quality but I’ve increased the amount of content I share ❤
BEYONCE - It's kind of hard to be authentic in certain markets where the expectations may be NOT to be authentic but instead to just seem authentic. The reality is that many people don't want the truth; they want fantasy, and sometimes, pulling back the curtains on the show causes many to run away. It's like learning the truth about magic tricks. And the perfect example of this magic theory is BEYONCE. is she really authentic ?
