- On our way back home from Thailand's West Coast we stop along the road of white gold where I'm surprised with a bounty of the product. Back home the surprises continue when I'm a winner at a local event.

There is a nice iconic shot at the end, with the old man, the water buffalos, and the sunset. It makes me miss Southeast Asia.
That was a fun fest! I love how Thais find a way to pop up these festivals and gatherings What a wonderful place they occupy on this planet!
hi Loucous. first off sorry for spelling your name wrong for so long.
Lan sure was happy with your win even after waiting however long for you to get back she still had a big grin on her face riding back.
and that was a great scene at the end

I enjoyed today's episode Lou and Lan of the festival you were lucky to get a prize. I am glad Lan knew how to use the salt. Bye for now.

Danke Achim 👍👍👍🙏🙏🙏
08 December, 2024. Sunday. Great viewing beautiful scenery. I wish I was there.
I have seen the baron fields and bags at the stores when passing thro Samut Songkhram but did not know until you have mentioned that it was salt. Korat /Pak thong Chai can sometimes look like that when the rice crops have been harvested. Good video with different content .
Cheers mate,
🙂
Always good to follow your journey! Take care and all the best. 🙂
Nice gesture from the salt farmer - friendly country folk are the same the world over!
yeah, salt of the earth kind of guy 👍🤣
Fascinating. Interesting to watch, I liked the festival🙂.
Glad you enjoyed it
Great video Lucas, regards from England 👏🍻👍
Way to go Lucas 😊
600th like. This is anthropology National Geographic stuff.
Excellent 👍👍+1.
By the way, The closing scenes of the cows and the old man with the rural sunset conjure up such a beautiful scene in MY view. ;-]
I buy salt that's been processed for use in my pool. I use about 50 kilos a month of the stuff during the rainy season here in Chiang Mai.
Sodium Chloride is also used in huge quantities as a feedstock to produce many chemicals, including caustic soda, sodium carbonate, hydrochloric acid, and chlorine.
Wow, Lucas, Awesome video very interesting. 😊😊
Lucas I work in Karratha Western Australia at a salt mine for Rio they harvest 2.2 mill tn a year plus thers 3 other sites. And I've been past that area and I've always wanted to see what they do.. lot harder then us wow😢 thanks mate
Salary comes from the Latin word salarium, which also means "salary" and has the root sal, or "salt." In ancient Rome, it specifically meant the amount of money allotted to a Roman soldier to buy salt, which was an expensive but essential commodity.
Interesting, thanks for sharing... Salt with shoes flavor :):)
Waiting for your next video at the farm. The buffalo situation is interesting
Congrats to that won 🎉🎊 😅🤗🙂👍❤️
I was thinking the Same thing of the Salt building's in
the North ..If You get an ICY DAY Who have Salt for the
Drive Way ..Every Day is an Adventure for You , Thanks ...
LOL! You are a winner! Salt and the plastic lottery. ;) Edit: I commented too soon. The closing scene was priceless. How many tons of water buffalo all following an 85 pound Thai lady? Looked like dogs the way the last one ran to join the group.
👍👍👍
Now the Salt King
🤣🤣👍
You nailed it! Farming, motor repair,Hotties, food, gambling, and Buffalo.
A+ 👍👍 Thank you💛
Family visit too
Glad you enjoyed it 👍
Ever heard about "Flor de Sal" from Portugal or french "Fleur de Sel" ?????? Off course not. You don't use it for hot dogs and cheeseburgers.
Sawadee Krap Lucas. I watch your vids all the time for about the last 4 or 5 years. How's about a video of you explaining the personal reasons of why you gave up your life in America to why you started a new life in Thailand???? Now THAT could be particularly interesting from your perspective. ;-]. That said.....No pressure intended as your content is always watchable regardless of what I am asking from you. ;-]
My blood pressure went up after seeing all that salt , LOL !! Thank you for sharing ....Enjoy .
Thanks Karl
Might not be the best salt (but I am gonba die anyway) but I like the taste when I cook soup. I buy a 5/10kg bag everytime I pass, give friends and most definitely use myself.... I cook up 1 ton of shrimps/crawfish/crabs per year plus fish soup but very little...! Yes, I live in Samui....!
That sounds delicious!
When stir fry I use the Paraa as salt.... I clear a spot in the pan so can kill any live germs, has a more rounded salt flavor. Same with sugar I never use the bleached refined white, either coconut, or the really dark brown wetish cane sugar.
🕊 just got back in🏝 ThaiLand 🇹🇭 thanX 4 yr 🪖 VETERAN 🗽SERVICE 🇺🇸
Som tum pla ra sai boo 3=med is always a favorite! Festival always fun in thailand
Yes I bought these rock salt from here too they are cheap and very useful I will pour the salt around my house to secure my house from white ants.
Lucas you now have salt for the snow season !
Lucky....Lucky !!!!!!! Fun to win , that guy is cleaning out a warehouse of junk. And gets paid for it. It is fun to win.
I wonder how much garbage is in that salt.. proven that most sea salt is full of micro plastics anymore.. And you mentioned shrimp/fish farms..I know that most of those feed garbage to the animals and then we ingest it and most farm raised seafoods are not good-is that the case in thailand? I have wondered where they get there large quantities of seafood from-farmed or ocean caught? Thanks for a another great video!
Thai people that hustle and work hard can make good money at markets & festivals.
oh my, i think i'd have to politely pass on the rancid fish sauce as well! lol 🤢
i watched your Hua Hin videos and 2 property tours on Johnny's channel and now my homepage is a bunch of Hua Hin videos lol
Counting down to 50! just about 2 weeks left of my 40's :(
Nice, funny how that works 👍👍🙏
Seems they use salt in pools... Sounds this couldn't be used or could it?
555…. That’s a lot of salt…when you mentioned pretzels…. It reminded me of the soft pretzel street vendors I used to see in Philadelphia outside of the stadiums “football../ baseball”….. those things were so good… I really miss them….bunch of yellow mustard on top.. mmmm….. I thought the box you won was going to filled……. With salt.. 555
Yeah, that's what I was thinking 👍🤣
salt has been produced like this for aeons
Thai locals were pissed when a farang won a prize but they smile and clap for you anyway.
You'll be laughing when it snows. 😂
At least you wont have to buy salt for the next 40 years
👍👍🤣
isn't salt bad for you ? never used it as a condiment ,bad smoking and drinking ,in my earlier days . thank you for your vids
Without salt you would die. 1 teaspoon is all you need though per day
Sugar is not salt .Although i am not sure how clean that salt is .If they used polluted sea water then it will be polluted in return.
@@anthonydowling3356 lol,, conspiracy theorists
Niceee !!!!
Thanks! 😊
You mean sea salt
Just looking at all than salt is increasing my blood pressure as I’m hypertensive.
🤣🤣👍
Glad you didn’t get ahh-salted
😲😲🤣🤣👍
Get your dirty flip flops of the salt😂
Khun Kim
Krap Pom
Did she like it 😂
After watching your vid I am going to have to judge with a grain of salt.....
Parasite ingestion from pla raa accounts for the high incidence of liver cancer in the Issaan region
Too big. Its just a flex, look at me, apartment where the majority of the floorspace would just collect dust. Fine for a drug dealer who has an entourage but a complete waste of money for a regular person.
wheres the road filled with "working women?"
