WEATHER FORECAST - GOOD FOR 24HRS
SYNOPSIS: EASTERLIES AFFECTING THE EASTERN PART OF THE COUNTRY; TROPICAL WAVE OVER MINDANAO; DEVELOPING LOW PRESSURE AREA (630km east-southeast of Davao city)
DISCUSSION (BASED ON LATEST WIND AND IR IMAGERY):
Warm easterlies remain a dominant weather system affecting a large part of the country while tropical waves affect the Mindanao area while a developing low was observed approximately 630km east-southeast of Davao city. The North Pacific High retreated slightly in the Pacific Ocean due to the expected effect of the deep low pressure trough over Eastern China moving towards Japan, causing the said easterlies that affecting the country to weaken slightly in addition to an upper level low over Luzon and the expected approach of another strong upper level low towards Luzon that will bring dry atmospheric conditions to the said area in the next 72 hours based on water vapor imagery. Due to the aforementioned weather systems affecting the country, the Visayas and Mindanao areas will experience scattered thunderstorms while thunderstorm activity will subside over large areas of Luzon due to said effect of dry atmospheric conditions caused by upper level low but still likely to experience isolated thunderstorms mostly in the afternoon and evening.
