    I looked at 17 videos on this and yours being the 17 made the most sense . Plain and simple answers , easy to see . Thank you .

      I agree that this video is very helpful but there is something that I am still wondering: While it is fairly clear how a layman could visibly determine by his self when a new solar has begun via a sun dial and its gnomon; it isn't entirely clear to me how that same layman could determine visibly for his self the beginning of a new sidereal day. Do stars cast shadows such that we could identify the moment when a shadow is not being cast thereby to know that the star in question has returned to the same place relative to our new position?

      @@bartsci What is E=MC2 is consistent with what is TIME. WHAT IS E=MC2 is dimensionally consistent. WHAT IS E=MC2 is taken directly from F=ma, AS the rotation of WHAT IS THE MOON matches the revolution; AS TIME is NECESSARILY possible/potential AND actual ON/IN BALANCE; AS ELECTROMAGNETISM/energy is CLEARLY AND NECESSARILY proven to be gravity (ON/IN BALANCE). c squared CLEARLY represents a dimension of SPACE ON BALANCE. INDEED, consider WHAT IS THE EYE ON BALANCE. Great. Consider TIME AND time dilation ON BALANCE. Great.

    sidereal month is closer to 27.32 days making the lunar sidereal day closer to 360/27.32 = 13.18 degrees travel per day. A lunar month is 29.53 days, which is 2.21 days longer than the sidereal month, which means the moon travels 29.12 degrees further, making the lunar day 12.19 degrees which makes the different between the sidereal and lunar day .99 degrees.

    why does my visualization of the moon last for roughly 14 hrs from moon rise to moon set and it only takes 11 hrs to rerise after setting? how far around the earth does my vision allow me to see at moon distance?

    • @siwilson1437
      @siwilson1437 5 лет назад

      If they are rotating the same way then you would see the moon for >12 hrs. This should only be actually visible during your Winter when your nights are longer, however, due to the tilt of the earth's axis, depends where you are of course.

    Hi inquire about this thing if I live on the equator and the sun rise every day at 6 a.m. in the next day the sun is supposed to rise 4 minutes early meaning 5:56 a.m. Because in real the actual day for the sunrising is the same at 6 a.m in the morning not earlier before four minutes in this case we using solar day or sidereal day ?

      Because the Earth orbits the Sun as well as rotating on its axis, the stars will never be in exactly the same place at the same time.
      Mr Jon Sheppard (the narrator of these videos) passed away in 2018. I know this because he was my GCSE Physics teacher.

    I just can’t grasp the sidereal day. So each day is about 3.5 minutes short of 24 hours. Multiply it by 365 and we get another full day? So a sidereal year is exactly one day longer????

    • @WedgePee
      @WedgePee Год назад

      The earth rotates on its axis AND orbits the sun at the same time. Therefore, the stars return to the same place in the sky just less than 24 hours later.

      @@WedgePee so does the position of the stars from earth change slightly each year?

  • @hannesswart4827
    @hannesswart4827 2 года назад

    A day is 24 hours not 24hour and 4 minutes. That is why the earth is not a spinning ball.

    • @WedgePee
      @WedgePee 2 года назад +2

      A solar day (the time for Earth to make one rotation on its axis) is 24 hours. The Earth also orbits the Sun, which means the stars will never be in the same place in the sky at the same time on two different days.
