Just a heads up, this was not the first DH specific trails in the Denver area. Golden designated multiple DH mtb trails before Floyd hill was open to the public. Also this is not in Denver. It 30 miles away...
Mark Sowinski thanks for checking out the video. the area is considered the Denver Metro area. Here is the original news post regarding the trails. theknow.denverpost.com/2019/10/03/sluice-mountain-biking-trail/225479/
Sick video bro. Keep the Colorado vids coming. That's awesome! Can't wait for my next trip up north, will definitely be making a few passes at Floyd Hill. I owe him one, he took my truck about 20 years ago. Blew the motor coming back from snowboarding in my 1953 Chevy. Sad, sad day.
That looked really cool. I'm surprised how close it is to Denver on i70. Hope to make it over there early next season for a few weeks. Hope snow behaves to get to ride a bit.
Is there bike+helmet rentals at this trail for out of town vistors? We are looking for a bike rental + ski lift sort of place close to Denver. Any suggestions?
Colorado Biking kerry i have been working on my technical riding over the last year. Not bad for a spandex clad ultra endurance guy right! Lol. I agree there are so many many lines out on floyd hill and I think COMBA really nailed it.
50mtb there is one main line with a lot of harder technical off shoots. There is so much off this one line that I couldn’t even start to show you all the B, C and D lines. More Vidz to come??
Nice riding! I've seen that same screen on the bars of a few bikes, can someone tell me about it? I like gadgets, I have a garmin thx. I'm new to mnt biking at74 ya, tryin not to die ahhh!
Can't wait to ride that on my next trip there. Who maintains these trails? It would be great if folks would credit those responsible for creating and maintaining awesome singletrack we see in the videos.
I think they kind of missed the mark on a golden oportunity. some of the jumps esp toward the bottom just arent dialed. Its a step in the right direction I suppose.
Imagine how shitty it would be if it were in Denver city limits. Red Rocks amphitheater and Winter Park resort are both owned by the city of Denver, and are not actually in the city, but we don't go complaining do we?
JF Rides I love Frisco, Ruby Hill and Rhyolite Bike Parks for liftless-DH, Ridgeline for single track! A Basin for a climb that rewards you with great DH! How does this climb compared to A Basin’s climb to Black Mtn Lodge?
Josh Archer I wouldn’t compare this to anything further than the front range. Depending on your fitness this climb could wreck you or be absolutely nothing. We are only talking about several thousand feet of climbing. For me this is the best of a lot of trails just out side of Denver for a quick weekend or after work joy ride.
JF Rides totally agree! I really love our front range trails that don’t ascend to the clouds, since I basically just tolerate the uphill in order to enjoy the short lived DH at the end!!! Your video showed me Floydhill is what I’m looking for, a long DH at the end, so the climb is worth it! 😎
Does everyone just ride up a certain way or is there not a separate climbing trail to the top so ya don’t get smashed from someone on the way down i Dunn understand your organization
JF Rides Okay. I was at Golden Gate a few days ago & it seemed like a free for all -I didn’t see any arrows. Or straggler~ trails for just heading up to the top
Looks way fun!
Ryan Van Duzer COMBA did a fantastic job on these trails. Soo much fun!
Looks rad! I'm gonna have to check this place out! Thx for the intel! 👍👍👍

Super cool - we’ve been wanting to check it out too!
You guys are going to love it.
Not in Denver, it's in Evergreen so you can expect at least an hour drive roundtrip to get there from the downtown area.
Not in evergreen either but it’s way closer to there than it is to Denver lol
So many fun bonus lines. It's worth your time to go slowly the first time down and check em all out.
Honestly you could ride these trails for a week straight and still find new lines. Soo much fun.
Great video!! Can't wait to ride there too! Our friends loved it as well.
Sprocket Girl Absolutely one of my favorite Front Range trails.
Good looking trail. I've read a lot of comments about it on FB. Another one to add to the list!
The Smaz its a lot fun. They are adding more trails as we speak
I was doing trail work there once, pretty crazy
Une belle sensation de vitesse dans cette vidéo 🚴♂️👍🙋♂️
Thanks 🙏
Definitely going to check it out this week!! 👍🏼 Good vid.
Dude you are going to love this trails. Bring your climbing legs though.
Been there once.....and yeah there are a ton of lines!!😁
Trailing Darren more lines than you can ride in a day. I can’t wait until they add more trails up there.
That looks awesome! Hard to believe it's only 1.3 miles.. Seemed like it was way longer
Chump MTB it’s seems way longer when you ride. They are building more new trails on top so it’ll be longer soon.
Great stuff. My sister lives in Denver. Guess I have another reason to come visit her.
Lifted Adventures lol you should totally check these trails out.
That looked really cool. I'm surprised how close it is to Denver on i70. Hope to make it over there early next season for a few weeks. Hope snow behaves to get to ride a bit.
If you make it down here let me know. You would love riding these trails.
@@JFRides I'll know my plans by december. Will let you know for sure.

James, your skills have improved since we rode at LHOHV. You missed a lot of the techie lines though. Funny that we both posted at the same weekend.
Colorado Biking kerry i have been working on my technical riding over the last year. Not bad for a spandex clad ultra endurance guy right! Lol. I agree there are so many many lines out on floyd hill and I think COMBA really nailed it.
Cool. That looks like fun. Did not know it's there. Was that the Blue or Black trail (easy or hard of the two downhill tracks)?
50mtb there is one main line with a lot of harder technical off shoots. There is so much off this one line that I couldn’t even start to show you all the B, C and D lines. More Vidz to come??
@@JFRides awesome. Thanks for sharing. Thought the sign (trail head) said TWO lines (blue/black and double black). Got to hit that trail.
How did you get your knee pads like that did you cut them? They're kali strikes right?
The pads are Dainese Trail Skins 2 lite knee guards. Perfect for lots of trail style riding.
Nice riding! I've seen that same screen on the bars of a few bikes, can someone tell me about it? I like gadgets, I have a garmin thx. I'm new to mnt biking at74 ya, tryin not to die ahhh!
Wish I had ridden this while I was in Denver.
James Stoup I bet you would have crushed this trail. Soo much fun!
Can't wait to ride that on my next trip there. Who maintains these trails? It would be great if folks would credit those responsible for creating and maintaining awesome singletrack we see in the videos.
These trails are maintained by a number of different groups. You will love riding here.
They acually have a sign with all the builders and people who donated at the top. Its really cool and more trails should have something like it.
Where is this place it looks awesome!!!!!!!
Nick Q This a 30 minutes west outside of Denver CO on I 70. Floyd Hill
I think they kind of missed the mark on a golden oportunity. some of the jumps esp toward the bottom just arent dialed. Its a step in the right direction I suppose.
Damn RUclips suggests this the day I get back from Denver! Shit!
pretty disappointing to find that its not in denver at all
It’s apart of the Denver metro area.
Imagine how shitty it would be if it were in Denver city limits. Red Rocks amphitheater and Winter Park resort are both owned by the city of Denver, and are not actually in the city, but we don't go complaining do we?
Bryan Marsh Agreed, the best trails are the ones you have! Let’s enjoy them every chance we get because this life is short.
What local Downhill Trails do you ride??
Dude you are going to love this trail. Bring the climbing legs though.

Josh Archer yep, dude you are going to love this trail. 🤘🚵♂️
Which is better, The Sluice or Longhorn in Golden?
Bikes n' Brews completely different. Both fun. Ride em both.
would you say its Black/Blue ?
matthew basquez there are several off shoot trails that are more black on this line. You can totally find what you are look for at Floyd Hill.
@@JFRides thx

St. Paul MN there is a trail up but nobody wants to see me huff and puff up that. this video was just focusing on the downhill section.
JF Rides Okay.
I was at Golden Gate a few days ago & it seemed like a free for all -I didn’t see any arrows. Or straggler~ trails for just heading up to the top
St. Paul MN cool, Floyd hill has one way traffic on the downhill only section.
Definitely not in Denver
Its is located in the Denver metro area. It would be really hilarious if it was in center of town though.
Haha little does he know there’s private downhill training trails less than 3 miles away
Yeah, it’s called the mountains they’re all around west Denver :(
