I think this method is a temporary fix. By deleting the MDM profile from the MacBook with this method, it's only deleting one part of the MDM process. The MacBook serial number is still reside in the MDM server. The proper way of removing MDM from a MacBook, is to contact the Admin in charge of managing the MDM server. The Admin would then need to remove the serial number of the MacBook in order to completely release MDM from the MacBook. I believe if the MacBook receive an OS update then it will reset all the changes that was made earlier, thus MDM remote management will come back and it will require this process over again. If you watched this video ruclips.net/video/S7UTBxNLcV8/видео.html this probably the permanent way of removing MDM remote management from the MacBook. The process involves of reprograming and changing the MacBook serial number onto the BIOS chip itself. With a new serial number programmed to the MacBook, the MDM server would not be able to install the remote management software, since it doesn't recognize the new serial number.
Just updated to Sonoma and the process comes up again nd won’t even leave after this process, I just use a standard user instead of admin user where the setup manager still pops up

I am having a similar problem where I remove it but keep on getting notifications that *** company can configure your mac notifications every 4-7 hours. I tried this and it was fine until the configurationprofiles command. It says no such directory exists. I am having the same problem where I cannot see the profiles in the preferences.

I bought a used MacBook and as I wanted to reset it then after reset there remote management popped while setting it up. Followed your tutorial and all seemed to work but now I still have to set the Mac up and there is still the remote management that I can't turn off. Its M1 Max chip...any ideas? I can't set it up because I have to log into an JAMF Account I don't have because I dont work at any company:/

Hello, I was able to remove the MDM profile from my 2020 M1 Macbook pro with Ventura OS. I don't know if this is a permanent fix or not but at the moment the MDM profile from my Macbook Pro disappear and before they were greyout which means that I couldn't selected for deletion. YES! my device wasn't talking to my MDM, so I couldn't manage it or delete it. now I can add the right MDM again without wiping the device. question does this needs to be done in Repair Utility or can this be done in the system in Terminal as well?
he shows the commands to move directories but on my machine several of them were capitalized on my machine. it doesnt start you in the lowest direcotry so use pwd to see where you are cd changes the directory, but you cant tab to autocomplete so instead use cd / to change into the lowest directory and then use ls to see the current things you can cd to use pwd to see the current path one of the folders had a space in it so i had to put a backslash to escape the space 'cd Macintosh\ Hd' but the other steps were fine. Finally if you are locked out because you dont know the password do the recover from wifi process by rebooting and holding command + option + r and then it will allow you to format the machine without logging into the mdm profile
Idk I used Checkm8 once I was in and then deleted everything from data and main HDD and got the question mark folder… I then rebooted in recovery and reinstalled OS once in nothing came up I then reconnected to internet updated to Ventura and profile was there but none was installed.

@@techsporadic There is a separate tutorial for Checkm8 on Ventura which basically guides you on how to downgrade to Monterey from Ventura and removing the lock.
This means that the Macbook is locked by the company and can still be managed by the company. It automatically enrolls the device back into their mobile manage device program. You still may be able to use it, but they could have some profiles locked.

It will remove the mdm profile completely and server cannot control until the profile is installed.

You can update without issues, but make sure you block the hosts as I commented above to ensure you do not get notifications about re-enrollment

Hi it doesn't show me the Macintosh HD partition.🤷🏼
Type cd /volumes and then type LS.It will list your partition.It may be in diffrent name.U need to do with your HDD partition name.

i am having Macbook pro 16 2019 model which supports ventura and has MDM Managment lock form a company if i will follow these steps it will completely remove MDM Managment lock or just remove the profile only also i dont know the MDM Managment password please help!!!!!

The bestest video for removing mdm lock is this in other they are telling to bypass but in this video these steps will completely remove the mdm lock from your MacBook
I find some difficulties in finding directories but when i searched for hidden directories i.e ls-a Then all steps i followed is same as shown in this video.

It did work for me at the beginning but then after a few hours I have to repeat the whole process because, it forced me to accept the MDM ,so I have to do the process all over again any help ?

I have a doe laptop that was given to me, I was able to follow these steps and have that profile deleted, somehow when I boot it up it still boots up as nycdoe property 😮
