I think this method is a temporary fix. By deleting the MDM profile from the MacBook with this method, it's only deleting one part of the MDM process. The MacBook serial number is still reside in the MDM server. The proper way of removing MDM from a MacBook, is to contact the Admin in charge of managing the MDM server. The Admin would then need to remove the serial number of the MacBook in order to completely release MDM from the MacBook. I believe if the MacBook receive an OS update then it will reset all the changes that was made earlier, thus MDM remote management will come back and it will require this process over again. The process involves of reprograming and changing the MacBook serial number onto the BIOS chip itself. With a new serial number programmed to the MacBook, the MDM server would not be able to install the remote management software, since it doesn't recognize the new serial number.
Just updated to Sonoma and the process comes up again nd won’t even leave after this process, I just use a standard user instead of admin user where the setup manager still pops up

Hello, I was able to remove the MDM profile from my 2020 M1 Macbook pro with Ventura OS. I don't know if this is a permanent fix or not but at the moment the MDM profile from my Macbook Pro disappear and before they were greyout which means that I couldn't selected for deletion. Thank you for the help.
This means that the Macbook is locked by the company and can still be managed by the company. It automatically enrolls the device back into their mobile manage device program. You still may be able to use it, but they could have some profiles locked.

If your MDM server is configured like that you cannot skip.This video mainly for the one who loose connectivity to the MDM server and facing difficulty in reenrolling again

Type cd /volumes and then type LS.It will list your partition.It may be in diffrent name.U need to do with your HDD partition name.

if you're getting "file does not exist" after cd var/db/configurationprofiles, try doing cd /var/db/configurationprofiles

1.cd /var
2.cd db
then type ls
3.then check whether the configuationprofiles are there

You can update without issues, but make sure you block the hosts as I commented above to ensure you do not get notifications about re-enrollment
