I'm not a fan of city building games, but based on your review I just picked this up in its Steam weekend sale and I'm actually loving it. Thanks for your great work, Mack :)
Tears of laughter on my keyboard about the lazy, scruffy bedbug infested bastards shopping with their pj's still on, this is so relatable xD XD xD xD xD !!
Just when you lose all hope in gaming, stuff like this comes around. A 13 man team comes out of nowhere and just shows up all the greedy AAA fucks how PC gaming is PROPERLY done. How a small group of people who LOVE what they are doing can trump all the sleeze-bag programmers and 'design-by-committee' slags. The gaming industry NEEDS developers like this. It is deteriorating so fast, stuff like this needs to come out to save it. I mean....compare this to something like Evolve. If you do a side-by-side comparison to the value, the content, the future FREE content via mods and the content you can currently get (region unlock mod that gives you 25.....TWENTY-FIVE plots of land to build on instead of the stock 9), what does it tell you about gaming? Stuff like Cities:Skylines needs to be the norm from now on or it will be the 1980's all over again.
PeopleGB Very sad what happened to starforge... Had a good promise, but again bastad devs, If I could find where they live, id demand my money back face to face!
Have you had the chance to play Reign of Kings yet because i can get it really cheap just for a few days and would sooner buy now rather than at full price
The picture you painted of the pajama people was amazing. Everyone at one point or another has witnessed the awe inspiring layabout pajama wearers. Another job well done Mack!
Mack, you need to revisit this and explain to us how do you feel about the game's price now, three years later. You said the price is right, and it was, and I can see how you didn't see a myriad of DLCs coming, but today it's worth €150, and thousands of people paid this in many small chunks for every little content update.
Great review, made me smile when you said it will never come out on console, as the reason I watched your review is because it's coming out on PS4 on August 15th
Green Man Gaming are doing the Deluxe version for £21.89 and standard for £16.78 at the moment...absolute bargain..spent around 12 hours on this so far...fucking brilliant and I believe made by a 9 man development team...THIS is what Simshitty SHOULD have been with all their resources, manpower and marketing.. EA and Maxis (RIP) hang your heads in shame Mack I was expecting you to fucking hate this...probably one of the most enthusiastic reviews Ive heard you do :)
Pajama Rant. There is no way to express in text how hard I laughed. Thanks for the review Mac! I was looking at this on steam earlier and was on the fence about it. Will definitely pick it up now.
OK definitely getting this. It looks very good and stuff! the reasons are here: 1. better than Sim-City! 2. Soon-to-be Day and Night cycle 3. If the game limits yourself you can just mod it! 4. You can expand and crap!! 5. Road system is epic 6. The cost doesn't matter, The game gives you more than it needs!!
For everyone who doesn't like the blurry effect when zooming in (i certainly didn't like it), go to options and then set the 'tilt shift' option as low as possible.
I am so glad I found your channel! I love your reviews and your humor! You earned a subscriber! Please keep giving your honest opinion on the games we need more reviewers like you!
I don't think i've ever seen you be so complimentary about a game! However, I pre ordered this myself and have to agree, Twice the game that Simcity was and Half the price?! It's a no-brainer.
Also, is it just me, or in this game unless an object is in your primary area of action, everything else is blurry? Any way of changing that so everything is sharp / not fuzzy?
***** Ah yes... That year in which I only played it for 5hrs... Vague memories of shitloads of bugs and connection issues... What a terrible game that was. You know it is when even SC 3000 was better.
***** Well yeah 4 was great but tedious =). Indeed really disliked the microword look too. It churned away processing power that could have been used to increase map size.
Actually, because EA are cunts and somehow came to the conclusion that putting numbers behind names reduces sales by a tiny margin, Sim City 5 was only called "SIM CITY", much like Medal of Honor 2010 was only called "Medal of Honor" despite being much worse than the previous one - Airborne released in 2007 or Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit 3 being called "Need for Speed Hot Pursuit", etc.
I can't remember ever laughing out loud at a review. It reminded me of Francis character that Boogie made. Great stuff. Loved the commentary and craziness.
The fact that you have to say "its so nice to use the whole map" shows the poor state the sim city genre is in. This is what "Sim City 5" should have been unfortunately EA... Good review Mack.
Hey Mack, love the videos! and I am glad you have done reviews on several games I have been thinking of playing your awesome at what your doing and It's a help for someone like me who doesn't have the cash to waste. Cheers Man!
I was stung by the latest Simcity and was 50/50 on getting this. This review is excellent, bought the game and very happy playing. Great review Mack, cheers.
Mack talking about developer greed, the developers of Cities have made like 6 iterations in the last few years and this was was called something else before that, so they have released the same game every year with new stuff. Still, if you don't own another Cities game then its a good buy.
If you're talking about Cities XXL etc, it's a completely different set of games by a different developer and publisher. Though you're not the first to mistaken them given the name similarities. These guys came from the Cities In Motion series, this is their first true city builder.
as much as I hate to say this, I would actually like to see a zombie outbreak gamemode. A more advanced version of Zombie Outbreak Simulator / Class 3 Outbreak from many years ago.
i had fun building a small city which i later flooded, and i learned the game is not meant to run physics, it did flood but took a while. the water looked very strange as it flooded the city, it spiked up and down and the only thing that happened was that the buildings became abandoned and maybe around 20,000 people were trapped in the school, they vanished after a bit, guess they swam away.
I have never played any construction game of any sort (apart from Banished, if that counts), and I bought it today after watching some videos two weeks ago, didn't even wait for your WAB. I can already tell I am terrible at this game, and at building roads (my my, the traffic in my city), but what a cute little game! :3
The great thing about this game is not only the game, but also the fact that the devs are truly taking care of their gamers - constant DLC's, updates, patches, mods etc. Fantastic. Much better than simcity.
Hey Mac since we're on the topic of simulation games, I was just wondering if you were planning on reviewing Planet Coaster or Rollercoaster Tycoon World?
Thanks for another great video, I have never played any city builder, but have often wanted too... I guess this is the ideal candidate to finally make a start with.
I found city skylines fun and the actual mechanics were great for a city builder but i think the biggest problem is that it is super easy. At no point are you actually in trouble in the game, you make a profit from the beginning of the game and then your only problem is traffic which is really easy to fix with basically unlimited funds as you are never in the red.
i might buy this, i have simcity, but i hate origin and lacking features is annoying, this game has the right idea with mod support and gives us the content that we want... the price is just icing on the cake.
"Near the river, so we kill all the swans and stuff..and ducks" I might be tired but that made me laugh,,hard.. Thumbs up for that ^^ Might actually pick this one up,,been awhile since i played a good citybuilder. Thx for reviewing
+RarPcGaming yeah, i could listen to this dude rant about just about anything. i think he should do vlogs or something and just talk about whatever he wants. i'd listen.
I bought the deluxe (£30) and am happy with my purchase so I agree it's worth a buy, however when explaining all the great things about the game you seem to miss out that it does have a few big flaws. One example would be you can build industry and residential without a connection and it will not effect your city in a negative way at all, the sims just teleport to work which then kind of makes what your doing pointless..... however it's fun so you do it anyways.
I usually don't like these games. I've tried Cities XXL I believe and it wasn't fun at all. But this just looks like something that is easy to get into and the interface looks simple. I might give it a try!
cities XXL is just another bad attempt and cash grabing on the rotting corpse of monte christo cities xl... that game had good ideas, but poor execution and some design issues. Focus never really fixed the problems (or lack of content) and just pushed again and again new editions of the game hoping that the community would keep up since it was pretty much the only modern city builder available.
Mack I love you man your house on the top of the penis cracked me up! That shit made my day :D I will go and buy this game it looks amazing! Also I would like to donate to you as a token of appreciation for all the reviews you put out there, cheers man, stay well and healthy
Cons:
No Multiplayer
Pros:
No EA
No EA
No EA
No EA
No EA
No EA
Did i say no EA??
I love how these about 40 cars parked outside your house at Bellend view.
It's his servants, man. They're allowed to park outside :P
***** Free parking on the head
His "Servants" ^^
The Pajamas Avenue rant sold this game to me! Now I want to run a city.
I'm not a fan of city building games, but based on your review I just picked this up in its Steam weekend sale and I'm actually loving it.
Thanks for your great work, Mack :)
Accent + Sense of humor + Personality = Subbed
Tears of laughter on my keyboard about the lazy, scruffy bedbug infested bastards shopping with their pj's still on, this is so relatable xD XD xD xD xD !!
I love that fucking bell

"We've all had hard times but a bar of soap is not expensive." Damn I love you Mack. Keep it up.
Just a quick message to say Reign of Kings is coming next week along with Hotline Miami 2 and Battlefield Hardline.
PeopleGB Very sad what happened to starforge... Had a good promise, but again bastad devs, If I could find where they live, id demand my money back face to face!
Lasses going to gateshead highstreet to sign on the dole in their pajamas.
Are you planing to review fnaf 2&3, cause that would be a couple of very interusting videos.
Have you had the chance to play Reign of Kings yet because i can get it really cheap just for a few days and would sooner buy now rather than at full price
***** Yes but only an hour, it's brutal but fun, is it worth a buy? No idea yet as I have not played it enough.
$7 on the Steam sale... figured what the hell.
This is one of your most complete and quality reviews you've posted 7 years later and I'm finally trying it 😂
The picture you painted of the pajama people was amazing. Everyone at one point or another has witnessed the awe inspiring layabout pajama wearers. Another job well done Mack!
I love your sour british humor. Great Review :D. Loving this channel.
This was a good game, but the biggest flaw is the traffic. All cars using only one lane on a six lane road.
Mack, you need to revisit this and explain to us how do you feel about the game's price now, three years later. You said the price is right, and it was, and I can see how you didn't see a myriad of DLCs coming, but today it's worth €150, and thousands of people paid this in many small chunks for every little content update.
BTW: It's now £5 for normal edition and £7.50 for the deluxe edition. Special offer for Christmas.
The only flaw is that there is no day/night cycle
They are working on it :))
Garth Vader Yay! That confirms i'm definitely getting it instead of Sim City.
There's a mod for it. ;)
Alex Wayne The modding society of some games (Gmod, skyrim, this game, etc) is SO fucking good.
Great review, made me smile when you said it will never come out on console, as the reason I watched your review is because it's coming out on PS4 on August 15th

Pajama Rant. There is no way to express in text how hard I laughed. Thanks for the review Mac! I was looking at this on steam earlier and was on the fence about it. Will definitely pick it up now.
Oh my god that rant! First video I've seen from you and I've fallen in love with your channel already keep em coming!! :D
that was hilarious, even taking a game that you like you still managed to have arant about scrubbers and minks lol
Says you can’t use controller to play, PS4 brings city skylines
I love the turn your review takes about half way through the video, had me laughing hysterically.
OK definitely getting this. It looks very good and stuff! the reasons are here:
1. better than Sim-City!
2. Soon-to-be Day and Night cycle
3. If the game limits yourself you can just mod it!
4. You can expand and crap!!

Best review of yours I've seen Mack. Loved the elucidation of the pyjama people.
Excellent video once again, Mac! I also despise the pyjamas in public people.
I am so glad I found your channel! I love your reviews and your humor! You earned a subscriber! Please keep giving your honest opinion on the games we need more reviewers like you!

JustPlainAwesome22 I think it simulates looking into a tiny model city. I am not huge fan either.
JustPlainAwesome22 take a fucking look at the options maybe for once and lower the tilt shift effect.
hank0rz >implying I have the fucking game
Edit: this is why you watch review videos first dumbass
JustPlainAwesome22 Nice greenmeme you embarrassing mongoloid
It looks like a better version of SimCity 5. Never heard of SimCity Online though. Probably as bad as it sounds =)
It churned away processing power that could have been used to increase map size.
hobanagerik Hahaha I meant technically. Visually it looks slightly worse, but I don't care much for visuals =)
It's pretty new, it still has potential to be better, let's hope it does it!
I'll be waiting for the sweet steamy Steam Summer sales this... you get the idea. Good Review Mack!
ZephWatchman www.g2a.com/r/cities-skylines-steam-key-best-prize you can get it for great prize here
You're f---ing hilarious xD
SCRUFFY BED BUG PAJAMAS WHERE I GO TO BUY MY FOOODDDDDDD
"You're never gonna get a game like this on consoles." Well Mack, do I have news for you.
Excellent video, keep up the good work, may your frame rates be high.
Much love from the PcMasterRace.
I saw this on the front page of Steam, thought it was The Sims.
Watched your review.
Thanks, Mack!
LMAO@Bellend View!! And the shape of the adjoining road... priceless!
8:15 and 3 years later im playing this game on switch
Hey Mack, love the videos! and I am glad you have done reviews on several games I have been thinking of playing your awesome at what your doing and It's a help for someone like me who doesn't have the cash to waste.
Cheers Man!
Roller Coaster Tycoon 3 and Cities Skylines is what I play when I need to de-stress :D great review for a great game :) thumbs up Mack...
I was stung by the latest Simcity and was 50/50 on getting this. This review is excellent, bought the game and very happy playing. Great review Mack, cheers.
I totally agree. One of the best PC-exclusive-SimCity-Games for decades! Totally addicted.
And he said it would never come to console.... well it's here now
Got cities skylines for 3$ steam sale :D
*FUCK* i paid full price
I've been playing it with a steam controller from the couch. It's fucking amazing. So much better than playing it at the desk.
Man.... first time I've seen your videos. Instant sub.

Awsome, Just another awesome review... You always make me laugh with you reviews you do.. Gonna subscribe for life now..
as much as I hate to say this, I would actually like to see a zombie outbreak gamemode. A more advanced version of Zombie Outbreak Simulator / Class 3 Outbreak from many years ago.
Best reviewer on youtube, especially now that bains not with us anymore. Cheers Mac your greeeet
Oh, Reign of Kings will be an interesting one. Wondering what you think about the developers.
I "preorderd" this game (two days before it was released) and I was hoping you would review it. It is very awesome and relaxing.
this is not worth a buy... this is a MUST BUY for city building fan ........ thanks for the review mack
i had fun building a small city which i later flooded, and i learned the game is not meant to run physics, it did flood but took a while. the water looked very strange as it flooded the city, it spiked up and down and the only thing that happened was that the buildings became abandoned and maybe around 20,000 people were trapped in the school, they vanished after a bit, guess they swam away.
Buying this game because of you. Thanks again Brother!
awesome, will be getting this soon. Thanks mac! keep up the great reviews.
I have never played any construction game of any sort (apart from Banished, if that counts), and I bought it today after watching some videos two weeks ago, didn't even wait for your WAB. I can already tell I am terrible at this game, and at building roads (my my, the traffic in my city), but what a cute little game! :3
It's like Black and White 2 meets Sim City imo
Max you are great! Keep being you luv your channel.
Take a look at time 7:44, right side of the screen. A guy tries to walk across the street right into traffic, and somehow doesn't get hit.
Will be buying this Mac thanks for the review. Been looking for a city builder and Paradox do some good games ::)
I think this will be my next purchase. Thanks Mack!
Thanks for another great video, I have never played any city builder, but have often wanted too... I guess this is the ideal candidate to finally make a start with.
just bought it a few hours ago, its sooo addicting. I totally recommend it!
Joey D.
Thanks, I'll add it to the library of shame I think.
Mack, that music... It's stunning.
Never gonna get a game like this on consoles huh?!!?
Hopeful Dud48 lol I think they saw this comment and now it's coming out for console
The game devs saw this video and said "Hold by beer!"
Mack, how do you find the games you review or do people just gift them to you?
10/10 will listen to "scruffy" monologue again and again
Picked this game up yesterday. Very impressive and very well done.
Worth a buy, could you do Kerbal Space Program, or Space Engineers? I want to hear your opinion of those games
i might buy this, i have simcity, but i hate origin and lacking features is annoying, this game has the right idea with mod support and gives us the content that we want... the price is just icing on the cake.
This game is from Finland 😊
"Near the river, so we kill all the swans and stuff..and ducks" I might be tired but that made me laugh,,hard.. Thumbs up for that ^^
Might actually pick this one up,,been awhile since i played a good citybuilder. Thx for reviewing
It now has day night cycle, which is a really good graphical improvement.
Mac, I know how much you hate side-scrollers so
here is another one you may want to review:
Ori And The Blind Forest
Most hilarious rant ever!
You are a riot man ! You make me laugh ! You should do stand up comedy....
+RarPcGaming yeah, i could listen to this dude rant about just about anything. i think he should do vlogs or something and just talk about whatever he wants. i'd listen.
The rant about the pyjama women was fucking hilarious! I pissed myself lol :D
Will you review *Ori and The Blind Forest*, Mack?
Loved your review. Very detailed and funny!!
Lol, I needed a good laugh. Good review. Subscribed :) and your comments I agree.
Pajamas Avenue rant. LMFAO. Best!
I usually don't like these games. I've tried Cities XXL I believe and it wasn't fun at all. But this just looks like something that is easy to get into and the interface looks simple. I might give it a try!

You kind sir have earned yourself a sub
I think SC4 is still the best city builder of all time. Skylines is okay, but it just doesn't draw me in the way that SC4 did.
Mack I love you man your house on the top of the penis cracked me up! That shit made my day :D I will go and buy this game it looks amazing! Also I would like to donate to you as a token of appreciation for all the reviews you put out there, cheers man, stay well and healthy
Thanks for the video mack.
Finally a game thats fucking finished on release
"Paint the fucker yellow." lol I'm definitely getting this.
is the same like Pharaoh ? looks like a modern copy of it , I liked everything about that game and I hope this has the same feeling . :)
holy shit I remember that game! used to play it (I think late 90's) on the family tiny pc.......I was addicted to that game, should do a remaster
worth a buy they pulled it off on console works pretty well.
But pc works better ofcourse.
Hey Mack PLEASE check out Reign of Kings!!!
