Very good! This was so helpful. Anger with sin is also a sign that we are not grounded and need more time in peaceful reflection with God. He changes our perceptions of things.
This sounds like common sense to me, I am glad to get to know the teachings of the bible are so grounded in everyday life and human psyche. It gives me confidence our heavenly father does knows best what is good for us, thank you God almigthy in the name and blood of Jesus Christ: amen. Annelies Bakker, the Netherlands.
Difference in my life is that my formative years were filled with faithfulness. I had the perfecy examples. My mom and dad and my grandparents. I never saw my mother with another man until she died. Even though they were divorced. Daughters take after their mothers. That is what my mommy taught me. I think they were divorced for 16 years when they died in 1997. Six months apart. There is nothing more beautiful than watching your mommy, rubbimg your daddy's hair and her sitting on his lap. It brings such security to the children. I loved that about them. I have known very ~ very little violence in my life. My grandparent"s marriage was the ultimate marriage to me, since I could remember. Their marriage is what I desired. Faithfulness, being there for one another. Treating each other with ultimate respect, in front of others and behind scenes. See, I didn't know if my parents were my parents, or if my grandparents were my parents. It had a huge impact on my life when it comes to love.
To keep anger from becoming sinful, we must more and more develop our knowledge and understanding of ourselves and others. Anger usually happens because either we don't check the facts, thereby making assumptions, or we wound because we're wounded...or both. Anger is detrimental the majority of the time, but it can be so destructive in a family situation. Rearing children is a tough job, and it can be easy to give in to frustration and become so angry that the parent lashes out at their children, verbally and sometimes even physically. It is so important for parents to learn how to control their anger. Otherwise, much psychological harm can be done to the children. Also, it's difficult for children to respect parents who lose control and yell, and without respect, the children will not be motivated to obey or change. Thanks for the teaching, Dr. G.
