Try a run where you start with 100 lifes but only get three lifes to complete each level. If you use all three life's you gotta have three one ups to move on. If you use three life's and only have two one ups you gotta restart and so on. That would be cool.

What might be an interesting super expert gimmick for you to try is make note of how many lives you have at the end of a run and however many lives you end with is how much you burn lives down to on the first level and see how many you can complete
