- During my grandmother's lifetime the US Postal service refused to deliver postcards of lynchings, except enclosed in envelopes.
- In my father's lifetime blackface was normal
- During my lifetime, blacks and whites were seated separately in a restaurant or a bus
- During my lifetime, Native American were separated from their families and force converted to Christianity
- During my lifetime, Civil Rights activists were murdered in Mississippi with the assistance of police
- During my children's lifetime, there was a mass murder at a black church
And that just covers black folks. I don't have a similar list for Hispanics or Asians, but only for lack of research.

I kept going over and over in my head how we as a country could let this happen. My white boyfriend had to tell me we're a nation of racist, founded by racists with a racist president.
I honestly didn't want to come to that conclusion, I couldn't. But reversal of DEI, that predominantly benefit white women I knew. The gross thing, her family is looking for asylum from Nicaragua. In Nicaragua, you can get arrested for speaking about the government and their abuse. Soldiers come to the house and detain them with no rights. They leave that country to try to be in a better system just to find out that it doesn't exist and probably never did. None of those people knew that the national anthem was added to the pregame recently and they never used to play the anthem there. You know how. Either the neighbor called, or one of the officers who arrested her did. I wouldn't put it past the officers to do that. We saw the federal report a couple of years ago where it explained how white supremacists have infiltrated every level of law enforcement, up to and including at the federal level.
Regarding the "precedent" element. It is simply the logical continuation, the rubicon has been crossed long ago.

If I was the judge in that courtroom, I'd be demanding how ice showed up at the courthouse to detain that girl. 'Assault' is just putting someone in fear of bodily harm, IOW, telling someone 'I'm going to hit you' is assault.
Arresting a minor for a spat with their sibling is insane …. But arresting a minor, keeping their from their parents without relevant update and attempting a possible deportation is egregious . How do we keep people from being separated from their families and sent to another country where they have no ties ?

I think I'm living a different life than most people.
I had classmates when I was in 11th grade that turned 18 during their Junior years. Sometimes parents would hold them back, other times it was due to learning disabilities, other times because parents had moved a lot.
I was 19 when I graduated high school due to being held back in first grade thanks to moving to a different state in the middle of a school year.. I think I was lagging behind their expectations as I struggled with the English class thanks to them learning things more quicker and ahead than my previous school. 😅
