I'm going to tell my teacher about this channel! My class has also recently been learning about how humans are affecting the earth and recycling. Keep up the great work!
Animal agriculture is killing the planet faster than every boat, train, plane, car, and truck in the world- the entire global transportation sector. Watch cowspiracy on Netflix, and go vegan. It’s the best single action an individual can take
Carson Hunt those same plant crops mostly go to livestock. Their feed crops consume 56% of our water in the US. Because of this, 2,500 gallons of water are needed to produce every pound of beef. 477 gallons for a pound of eggs... nearly 900 gallons for a pound of cheese.... 1000 gallons of water for a gallon of milk. Actually animal ag is responsible for over 20% of all fresh water consumption in the world today- some studies estimate it’s as much as 33%. So if you’re concerned about water consumption,,, yea, veganism is the answer. You’d know these things, if you bothered to look at anything that has an opposing view point from where you currently stand. DM me for references and citations, if you’re actually willing to do the reading
Bodhi Foster I’ve done the reading, wrote several papers back in university on the topic (most about benefit of gmos). But it’s not that simple, and the answer isn’t veganism lol. Agriculture currently uses around 80% of fresh water consumption, your saying 56% of it goes to animal feed? So that leaves 25% already being used to feed like 10% of vegans. We’d have a 200% increase then to sustain veganism for everyone. You also must account that food consumption is international. Studies have already showed that air freighting most “greens” is not sustainable long term. It’s not just about water, but energy, land, etc. You must also remember that plants require nutrient rich soil. This soil must come from somewhere/be replaced. For example in Mexico they destroy more forest every year to increase avocado fields. Must also remember, plants are much more likely to be thrown out, and don’t keep long term as well as meat. And currently we already waste around 25% of all food. Anyways point is it’s a lot more complicated than most people think, and not as simple as “switch to vegan”.
Nice video, nice to see you talking about our huge Waste problem and also Climate Crisis, BUT I wouldn't be so optimistic about recycling. Plastic can't be recycled more than a couple of times and not all platic products can be recycled. Developed countries ship their waste to developing countries in Asia and Africa for them to "recycle it" and then a lot of it ends up in the oceans. The only solution to this dilemma in my opinion is adopting the Zero Waste approach, i.e., just producing less wasteful products (such as plastic straws, bags, cutlery) and encouraging the use of reusable alternatives. NOT organic disposable alternatives, such as paper straws or bamboo cutlery. Just no disposable waste.
I absolutely LOVE your guy's videos but please, stop with the lil fart jokes inbetween the information you're giving. And slang (totes obvs rad etc.) Its not appealing.
Mr_V 85 I’m also not too big of the fan of the fart jokes, but the abbreviations makes it easier for someone people to grasp, because it’s in a ‘language’ they understand. This then appeals to more people!
I second this. I dislike the overly casual demeanor of the presentation. This page usually keeps it professional with great insight, but this feels like it’s designed for hipster millennial who haven’t used the Internet in years.
@@CoolKat206 If you think this is in a "language" that more people understand, I think you might be really disconnected from how young people actually talk

yourin8er I don't know exactly what you're talking about but I assume it's about the video's narration. If you have criticisms of the video, voice them. Anyone that creates content should be able to take constructive criticism. Plus, there are alot of other comments also talking about it.
Lesly L. Yeah. But it’s pride month and if he want to go a little more empowerment in his voice thats find. I’ll keep my mouth closed and just enjoy good content. Sorry, I didn’t mean to offend.
Recycling plastic just delays the kind-of inevitable: it ending up in the ocean. We need to burn it all. We can worry about our carbon footprint later.
I started using glass instead of plastic bottles because I couldn't stand the sight of our reusable bag full of plastic bottles. Btw I live in Germany so we 'recycle' our bottles and we have reusable bags instead of to much plastic so we at least something but I wish more drinkcompanys would put their stuff in glass bottles. I miss Lipton Ice Tea...
Think about it this way. If your bathtub was overflowing you wouldn’t automatically reach for a mop, right? You would turn off the water. Then… You would mop up the water. I definitely think that we should do what Sweden and Singapore doing, but first we should ban plastic.
Why do you care about the way he talks? SImply because Mitchell usually does the voiceovers should not and does not mean he has to use the same attitude. (Btw, whatever is wrong with white girls who go to Starbucks?)
@@SkyenNovaA okay. I have just replied to all these comments because I feel like the overwhelming majority are homophobic, but thank goodness for the sensible minority.

@@carsonhunt4642 I love how my comment has turned into an educational class 😂

I wish people would stop caring so much about his jokes and just focus on the science.
Sweden for the win. 😂 (partly, lol)
I love the jokes and slang in this!! That makes it more fun for kids to learn and it makes it more enjoyable to watch
0:45 Ralph Wiggum the best!
I got double serious when Ralph popped up. 😂

Fossil fuel companies: What's that? We should burn it?

I absolutely LOVE your guy's videos but please, stop with the lil fart jokes inbetween the information you're giving. And slang (totes obvs rad etc.) Its not appealing.
Mr_V 85 I’m also not too big of the fan of the fart jokes, but the abbreviations makes it easier for someone people to grasp, because it’s in a ‘language’ they understand. This then appeals to more people!
I find this style of narration way easier to understand and many people may as well, just get used to it or whatch something else
I second this. I dislike the overly casual demeanor of the presentation. This page usually keeps it professional with great insight, but this feels like it’s designed for hipster millennial who haven’t used the Internet in years.
Mr_V 85 as soon as I read this, I heard “goals af”

@@CoolKat206 If you think this is in a "language" that more people understand, I think you might be really disconnected from how young people actually talk

I don't know exactly what you're talking about but I assume it's about the video's narration.
I love this channel because it notifies people about our current crisis. *Global warming!* Keep doing what your doing guys. Ur awesome😁
Thanks Tony
You mean climate change.

Greg is so beyond funny

One system that can be used for waste disposal is plasma gasification, it converts waste to molten metal, glass and gas, it's particularly good for dealing with toxic waste and car tires (which are very hard to deal with otherwise).
