i just found you guys about a month ago..I friggin love your music..i also grew up in the 70's and 80's this brings me back..you guys knew a good thing when you heard it..wishing you nothing but success..we need this music again..Los Angeles is one of my favorites as well..keep on keeping on...
You'll never know if you've never performed live. The first and last part always turns out like this if you keep singing for too long. It's similar to sports. You can regain your stamina after a break but you run out of breath quicker each time you take rest. And your adrenaline is also high at that time.
with all due respect, but the singer is really having hard time.... he sounds perfect on record cos his producer slaps pitch correction. It is kinda strange, cos if you check Lyle's vocals on his own original songs way before The Midnight band, he sang live good. One of the problems might be that The Midnight's producer Tim writes the songs in to high a key for this singer, it strains his voice, he can't handle it live. Hence, don't be just a studio singer, write songs in your own comfortable key so you can perform easy live. This is a very good song, but in all liver versions i have seen the singer struggles and butchers the song. He is a good singer and has a very good tembre, bet Midnight keys are to high for him.
Except when the fills are being used to transition one phrase to another? I’ve been drumming for around 23ish years and there is no “nonsense” fills here, he’s accenting changes. You want to see nonsense fills? Go check out that Cooper Drummer dude, legit made his career off overplaying, this dude could not be more in the pocket

I hate that the drummer always has to add Nonsens fills instead of playing straight and tight beats
